When you first meet Jaal and Sara says that their plan wasn't to crash land on fire, there's a pause then Jaal says "I'd hope not that a terrible plan".
That coupled with other snarky lines have really amused me.

I am 24 hours into the game and I really enjoy this game and am quite happy with it. Does this game have flaws, yes it does but to me and in my opinion the flaws are so minor to me that I just don't notice it. I honestly don't have a problem with the CC after going through it again after the Trial and messed around with it, of course I just stuck with the default Male Ryder because that's the one I like, then there is the animations and I have zero problems with the animations and don't see anything wrong with it at all.
Is there a few flaws, yes there is like I said but the flaws to me are so minor that I don't notice because my enjoyment of this game is way way more than the minor flaw. I seriously don't understand the criticism of this game when it isn't as bad as some say. I seriously hope that when or if there is a second and third game following Andromeda that you can import your character Ryder to the second and third game and continue to play as Ryder. One thing I was hoping for and thought could happen is to have your sibling join you as a squadmate and that would be interesting I have to say, does this game need more patches to fix things etc yes there does.
I am also sure that there will be more DLC, especially for the Quarian Ark that Director Tann mentions - course if its going to be a DLC that should have already been in the game regardless

i have to say this is my favorite bioware game yet. i cant wait for the dlc and sequel. Thank you bioware PS for those saying it is inquisition in space your right but its greatly improved and i say that as a huge fan of DAI and the OT and i hope all future bioware games continue to use and improve on the MEA and DAI open world formula. Also im playing on the easiest dif cause i play rpgs for story not challenge i still cant fathom how huge this game is without dlc. It's a 15-20 hour main story with 50+ hours of fetch quests in a gated open world. Source www.kotaku.com.au/2017/02/mass-effect-andromeda-the-makothe-legacy-and-all-those-one-night-stands-youll-be-having/Hey why stop there? It's a game where you just drive round in circles for hours: Grand Tourismo It's 15-20 hours of cut scene dialogue with a bit of walking around: The Witcher 3 It's a game where you shoot people in the face endlessly while swearing into a mic: Call of Duty Source: My warped imagination...

Overall I like the game...it does have a feeling of being a spiritual successor of the original game. However it comes with a cost...I feel there's simply too much side content. The combat is great and all but when you're doing sidequests there can be massive breaks in action where nothing really happens other than following way points.
Also there's small.things....like every time I land on kadara, do I really have to load into town, then transport to the slums, then run to the first beacon and then finally call the nomad/travel to another point. The game could have done with a 2nd landing point for the Tempest that goes straight to the open explorable area, and one that goes to town.
Or...when squad mates have things to say in non cutscene quests...if they happen to be too far away when you talk to an NPC, if I didn't have subtitles on half the time I'd literally have no idea what my squad interjected to the conversation, or that they spoke at all. They should always speak at full volume..

This game just keeps sucking me in more and more and i keep saying it i have really NO idea where those bad reviews are coming from. Maybe they have something against EA or Bioware i don't know. Because i'm starting to love this game more and more every time i play it yes there are some minor flaws and i ran into my first bugs ( two ) yesterday but they're minor bugs ( i hope they will fix those bugs though ) and they don't bother me that much. But well so far sooooooo goooood i'm not by a long shot near the end that will probably take me at least 100 hours still and if this continues like what i have seen and done so far then i'm all for it.

Finished the game yesterday after some 70-odd hours of play and about 81% completion or so (100% viability on all planets, all companion quests done, etc. I skipped a lot of the more collectible type quests) It's by no means perfect, but I loved it. The CC remains my biggest gripe, though I was at least able to make a Ryder I enjoy and close to what I imagined. Facial animations need a lot of refining, but I got used to them for the most part after a few hours. Ran into very few bugs - none of them game-stopping but a few were annoying, like notification badges not clearing on the menu near the end of the game. Combat was fun, though I personally didn't change profiles (kept Sentinel the whole game) and almost never swapped out powers, I liked that I could change those if I wanted fairly quickly. Side note: As someone with chronic repetitive-stress related pain in my wrists and arms, I really, really appreciated the accessibility options in the settings. I don't know how I would've managed without turning running and aiming into a toggle rather than a press/hold button. I'm probably just easy to please, but I didn't really have issue with the writing. It's nothing outstanding but it was fun and engaging and I for one love the more lighthearted approach. I enjoyed being a casual smartass. I think Andromeda is, for the most part, what we needed from a soft reboot and I'm looking forward to DLC. Hell, I think I actually like Ryder more than Shepard already - that's definitely going to be a "your mileage may vary" area, but I liked the 4 trait system better than Paragon/Renegade and I felt Ryder was more fleshed out, personality wise. Mind this is from playing mostly casual/emotional; I can't speak for a dominantly professional or logical Ryder. But I'm really enjoying them as a protagonist and I wouldn't mind playing them again in a future installment if BioWare chooses to go that route. EDIT: Also, one thing about the Ryder twin: I know they're key for the end game, but I felt like they spent FAR too long of the main quest in a coma, especially if you take your time doing things. I don't mind that they aren't a crew member, but I think they could've been woken up a LOT sooner than they were. It was nice talking to them through SAM and seeing them in Alec's memories, but I still felt like they were barely in the game. Maybe some people prefer that but I figure if you're going through the effort to establish a family for the protagonist that's in-game, better to not leave them lying around sleeping the entire time.

You have basically the same amount of control. It's just more situational based. You have to know what three abilities that character has. The squad mate will intelligently use an ability based on when you give the command. I've never had a problem getting them to use a primer or detonator or use the appropriate skill for shields vs armor. It works quite well. You just have to practice and time it right. There's more tactical skill to it TBH. And I love the fact that there is so much to do and explore as opposed to the focused streamlined approach to the OT. It's finally an actual Role Playing Game again and I can craft my own story as I see it. The ME2, ME3 training/amateur wheels are finally off. Thank You Bioware! When I tell you this is fucking stoopid I don't mean your post, I mean the fact they thought that a combat adjustment like that was acceptable for a Mass Effect game. It's fun as a TPS but your squadmates are fucking useless like that. I spend more time jumpjetting around to revive the burdensome little shits. They might as well remove them from combat altogether because I'm doing all the fighting anyway and I have no control over their powers. This isn't an RPG. Its a semi open world TPS/MP with half a story attached to it. Lets not start pretending its the ultimate Mass Effect game. Ssessh let them enjoy the game

I was doing some of the remnants puzzles on the Ice planet planet last night, and for once in my life, I wanted to figure it out for myself. I know there is a site that tells you how to do it, but for some reason, I actually like the puzzles in MEA. If it was skyrim style, I probably would have cheated because I don't like them that way, but for this, I get enjoyment out of it even if it does take an hour.

Finished the game in just under 61 hours, with 96% completion. Huge fan of the original trilogy, have to say I went into the trial with low expectation after seeing a few trailers and such, and even lower after playing the trial, due to technical difficulties - framerate drops, freezes during cutscenes that forced me out of the game -, which did not disappear during the rest of the game, but became somewhat tolerable and less recurring (playing on a pretty capable PC).
As a whole I'd say it was enjoyable despite very flawed.
Pros
- fun, dynamic combat, enhanced by both leveling and crafting systems - big, diverse, beautiful open worlds - also beautiful galaxy map and transitions between worlds - overall great ship and crew, lots of banter and dialogue available - nice throwbacks to original trilogy, be it small easter eggs or major like in Ryder's memories - some great missions (especially loyalty ones, Liam's was hilarious) - excellent final mission and epilogue, guess they learned their lesson
Cons
- technical issues: texture pop-ins during dialogue, framerate drops, freezes during cutscenes - less than stellar facial animations, as everyone knows; later in the game it either got better or I just started ignoring it - also very weird how you initiate a conversation with someone and almost always they are turning to you seemingly about to bump into you, when it cuts to them being slightly farther in front of you - mediocre story(telling), only became invested towards the very end - tons of fetch and backtracking quests, combine this with unskippable interplanetary travel and landing animations and you waste a lot of time - only being able to map 3 powers and not control squadmate abilities - no quicksave on PC - a few weird glitches like when I was forced into a dialogue on Eos and Kett were shooting at me during this; got killed and the auto-save wouldn't load - enemy respawns, got the feeling it was based on distance from spawn point rather than time since being killed - this sometimes resulted in them respawning instantly after sniping them from long range
No thoughts on multiplayer as I haven't played it outside of early access yet.
All in all I find it inferior to the original trilogy, but still think I got my money's worth and will probably replay it at least once more, after, hopefully, some of the technical issues I mentioned are patched.

The best thing I can say is that my most unhappy feelings about the game comes from the fact that I seem to have some hardware/driver issues on pc that cause the game to close after 1 hour of play every time, and I actually wasted 60 dollars on the PS4 version instead now.
Thank god for ME Archives because I just booted up a new game with the exact same Ryder faces directly imported from that system, so thank you for getting that made, BioWare!
And overall the game at this point feels like an 8/10 kind of deal, all things considered. For every shitty animations and every boring fetch quest I remember how much I enjoy the fact that much of this is my experience, my custom character, doing the things I want to do, and the combat is very satisfying at times.
I still hope they're secretly redoing several scenes with facial animation and updating the eye-region animations all across the board (and please, update the eyeball models with better diffuse mapping and make the iris less plastered on the outside-looking) because every now and again it just takes me out of the experience.

I love the game completely. Only issue I have is the facial expressions ... but the rest of the game is perfect for me.
Admittedly I wish there was a cash shop, though. I feel like I would like more access to different clothing sets for my main character, and maybe even clothing sets for my crew.

Spent most of the day on Eos today (basically, the very beginning of the actual story once the prologue ends). That's at least 5 hours of gameplay, probably closer to 7. Definitely liking the game even more and my initial opinion that the game feels like ME1 is further reinforced. So to everyone in doubt - don't trust the negative reviews blindly. While the game does have some issues (when did anything ever not have some?), I think the hate that the game gets is royally unjustified. My main game design complaint for now is that Codex is no longer voiced over. That's just... cheap. Why, Biower, why?! Also, the main story is OK but the sideline Kett fights on Eos are a bit too hard (and by "a bit" I mean way too hard). But then, I'm playing on Hard difficulty with no equipment or weapons to speak of, so maybe I'm just getting what I asked for. - only being able to map 3 powers and not control squadmate abilities Isn't that what the profiles are for? Took me a while (okay, okay, couple minutes) to figure out, but I did manage to assign different sets of powers to different profiles.

I'm guessing you're referring to favorite presets, profiles can chosen independent of powers (if unlocked of course). I think it would've been useful to be able to change the preset on the fly via weapon wheel. That's why I spent a lot of points on passives. It's nothing major, in ME3 I would've used maybe 4 powers at most anyway, but it's clearly a console limitation at work here, as it was with DA:I.

Honestly this game, the more i play it, seems to be correcting many of the mistakes in the writing of the OT. It has an emotional depth and a sense of mystery the originals never quite achieved.

Already started my second play through last night. Highly enjoyable combat and exploration. The story surprised me in the fact that after completing the main quest I still had questions that needed to be answered. Also, it gave me the sense of mystery that was missing from the others. I got the sense that this is only the beginning. So much potential for exploration in future DLC/sequels. The best thing I can say about it though is after finishing the last mission and traveling around a bit doing side quests I never wanted to leave Andromeda. The sense of adventure was very real to me.
