I like it, it's much less focused and narrow than the trilogy, so it takes some getting used to. Also, the stakes seem much lower so you're kind of more a wanderer/explorer here so it feels a lot different. Also, not being able to pause combat to issue orders is a huge change. I much preferred the combat of the previous games and find myself dying much more this time around since everything is real time. It's engaging enough to keep me interested and a tad bit excited. Yeah, so much to do it's overwhelming, in comparison to the other games. Honestly I prefer the slower pace. The threat in the original trilogy got tiresome and honestly at one point I was thinking why am I running around doing all these side quests when the fate of the universe rests on my shoulder. With this game though? I can relax, do side missions, mine, etc.

Over the years I've played my share of crappy games, with awful graphics, laughable story and CC's that allowed you to only pick your gender and/or race. I'm only 2 hours into the game (due to RL), and I've managed to get killed in every single Kett encounter so far (on the easy mode no less; yes, I know...), but I am enjoying my pants off in this game. Is the game perfect? No. Does it have faults? Yes. Do they it stop it from being enjoyable? I don't think so. The game certainly does not deserve the level of vitriol out there. To criticize is easy. Any fool can do it.

With this game though? I can relax, do side missions, mine, etc. This is why some people really don't like the Citadel DLC. The tonal shift from what's going on elsewhere can leave a sour taste in all that fanservice, especially if you actually read the in-game info on the reaper war.

I'm enjoying it more than DAI which for me suffers most of the same problems. I like it I don't love it. The biggest issue for me is that the writing and characters aren't particularly memorable compared to BioWare's best works but i'd say the same about DAI. It's certainly not classic and won't be winning any awards but it's won me over and met my expectations for a soft reboot. I can overlook it's flaws because there's still so much to like even if a lot of that feels a bit hollow/repackaged. There's a lot of promising if frustrating potential here as with ME1 which may yet be realised if they are given another shot at it. I believe they can and will do better and while I believe some changes are needed - they are generally moving in the right direction.
I'd say it's looking like a fairly respectable 8/10 minus some technical issues and how much those technical issues affect your overall experience (and rating) is entirely down to you.

I like it fine so far - but the inability to save and the poor animation is a real distraction.
I am sincerely shocked at how weird the animations are and how unattractive and odd some of the facial expressions and body movements and shapes are - I truly don't understand how it is even possible to have such poor animation in this day and age. Its so goofy it kind of makes it hard to take the game seriously and I think thats also why the writing seems kind of trite... feels like a throwback to the nineties...and this comes from a true Bioware fangirl

Even with low expectations, I'm not enjoying myself as much as I wanted. THe gameplay is pretty solid, but the writing is so bad. People can yell "Bad animations! Bad animations!" all they want, but all that would've been forgiven, if the story had at least been good. We forgave ME1's combat because we loved the story.
The story in Andromeda is just....bad. I'm sorry but it is. It's generic and worst yet, it's boring. I've been thinking so much about Mass Effect 1-3. All the amazing characters we met, the great directing, the situations, the choices, the mystery, the music, all of it was top notch. It felt like a real cinematic experience. Andromeda feels like a generic sci fi story, with a Mass Effect paint job over it. I would've embraced every bad animation, every glitch, every ounce of bad UI design with wide open arms, if only the story of the game had been solid. And it's NOT guys. It's just not.

I'm a little over a 11 hours in and still having a heck of a good time. Yeah there is a few
bugs, also the CC and animations needs some work, but I'm still overall having a fun time.

36 hours in, love it, way better than expected.
- Was able to make a character that I like without much hassle despite the CC shortcomings - Story is shaping up quite nicely at this point - combat is fun, three power limit does not concern me (Charge ALL THE THINGS - turned down difficulty to Hardcore because I am ill atm, going for Insanity again asap) - Sidequests are actually really well done, some straightforward ones, lots with nice twists, amount is just right for my taste - game is friggin' HUGE, geez - looks really nice, runs very well on PC (2560 x 1080, everything Ultra except textures on High, Motion blur off, my system is an old I5 3.3Ghz, 16GB RAM DDR3, GTX 970, SSD, Win10)
the bad stuff: - dead eyes/facial animations on humans are real bad 80% of the time, yeah (other races look a lot better) - super bright lighting in a lot of places for conversations does not help, washed out colors and hard shadows - no manual save during priority missions, that was a pita in the beginning (level 23 now, character build almost complete, not really dying anymore)

Can I ask which skills are the most useful for you so far? Pull/Throw seems the best at the moment. Singularity a mixed bag. Was looking at Barricade for some mobile cover. I put one point in Overload but not sure how useful it is. I feel the cover isn't very "sticky" in this game and sometimes can't tell when I'm protected or not. And I'm getting flanked often, I miss the pausing of the OT.

Nope. So far in terms of gameplay, combat, graphics, and RPG elements, Its the best game in the series. You just have to get past about 10-15 hours before it really starts opening up.
Multiplayer alone makes it a great game. I'm really questioning the reviewers judgement. There are plenty of games that got 9/10s and were more buggy/unpolished than this game

i like it i played abut 5 hours sp, 5 mp
the facial and walking animations are bad, and the tasks to collect 10 parts of this or that, is very boring, but i really like the ambience, the characters, the new environments, the ship, the worlds, beautiful, and the enemies look good as enemies

In what universe is this even remotely close to true? Because it sure as fuck ain't this one. Pretty much every Bethesda RPG game. Hell even Red Dead Remdemption was full of bugs when it first released. You do realize those games made up for their bugs by having good gameplay, and in the case of RDR, a very well-written story? ME:A got 74 on Metacritic not just because of technical issues but also because of uninspired writing and poor gameplay.
