I hope the game sells well enough for them to continue with these characters and story. I don't want them to just forget about the ME franchise or think about rebooting it. I think they have a great start with Andromeda, they just need to make the sequel of a bigger impact like ME2 was to the first game. I just hope that doesn't mean going back to just shooting and little rpg exploration elements.

Your vision of a better game may be crappy to someone else. That is the point. Irrelevant. And no that isn't the point.
The point is, if you're speaking to a person who does NOT like the game and direction Bioware has taken, asking rather or not they'd rather have the same shitty game they already hate in lesser time or a game they would actually enjoy further down the line is an idiotic question.
The only win for that person is the good game further down the line.

If you really think ME:A is a piece of shit then I'm not sure how you can like any of the original trilogy, given how much of them is in ME:A. Including dodgy animations and bugs. I'm not interested in playing MEA. I can't stand those dead pan eyes and emotionless dull mannequin faces. It's "shittiness" is debatable.
But this isn't about what I personally think of it. It's about the question put forward to a person who clearly does not like the game. And my question was framed from that perspective.

"Why did they take away feature X, I really liked it and feature Y sucks!" I think the only constant is people saying they will never buy another BioWare game again, and yet somehow they always do... More on topic, I'm still at the very beginning of the game but I'm having a blast so far and I hope MEA will achieve in sales what they haven't achieved in critical success!  |

Interesting article, so MEA is a sufficiently popular success = financial success. Just not so much a critical success. So MEA2 has got to be a thing then, because the set-up work on the engine is done and It'll be cheaper to make a sequel. Perhaps MEA2 will be more like ME2. Mass Effect Andromeda sales chart success for BioWare's RPGIn the latest Bioware news, we learn that Mass Effect Andromeda sales have done extremely well in the first week, beating the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn and Ghost Recon Wildlands. BioWare’s Mass Effect Andromeda has debuted at no.1 on the U.K. All Format Chart, though first-week sales of the epic space RPG were down on Mass Effect 3’s launch performance back in March 2012.EDIT: Several sites are instead making hay over how bad it is that physical sales are down against ME3. As if the digital market hasn't changed in 5 years  I would like them to compare PS4 MEA and Horizon Zero Dawn sales since Horizon was PS exclusive. I am enjoying MEA and I really enjoyed Horizon. I would love to see those sales numbers. Theres goes the beat HZD argument. Its not a classic, that doesn't mean it sucks. Sales will do well enough off the brand, what i hope is that we get an improvement but that was what they said about Inquisition. "They've worked frostbite out now because they were working on DAI." "At least we know they'll have ironed out the kinks making DA:I, Mass Effect is bound to be better now." We end up with the Salarian ark. And yes the OT had it flaws, but that was back when you expected games to still have flaws in order to deliver that kind of quality. We know thats not the case anymore. |

The choices did matter in the end, the people that pop up in the end are because you chose them. There's also a lot of choices that are meant to be more long term for a sequel. |

The comments are just hilarious! I can agree, especially to the ones asking why it has "mass effect" in the title even though it's in the Mass Effect universe. That's just as bad as asking why halo reach was called "halo" just cuz it didn't have masterchief. It's still in the halo universe and the franchises are bigger than Shepard and the chief. I've even said that while andromeda isn't the greatest game, it's still better than 90% of the others (and honestly I'd say it's better than any 2017 game so far). So no surprise that it's selling well, and it needs to sell well regardless of its flaws or you risk them shutting it down. (Not that I think one bad mass effect game having a fluke would cause that, a franchise needs to continuously regress to warrant a shut down really). im still wondering how well it's selling world wide though, I've only heard it's #1 in the U.K. And that it's selling better than ME1 and the other newer triple A games out right now. |

The fact that it didn't beat me3s first month sales is interesting. Mind you i am sure that MEA 2 when ever that is launched. It will probably be heavily impacted by MEA release state and final product heavily. MEA might of sold ok on the Mass Effect title and new start. But people may not be over amped to jump into the next one. |
