Managed to beat the age gate with a few months, not that I feel it or behave like it. I refuse to grow up it looks so horribly boring

My father loved the music from the sixties and seventies so we grew up listening to that music. And we started to really like that music to like Led Zeppelin Deep Purple The Animals Uriah Heep and many more. I do not like all the songs but some of them i really love to for instance this one. There are days that i only listen to that "old" music

I grew up watching the wurzzels playing from the back of hay trailers at various boozers, I was at glasto in 95 although I was only there to work not watch the stage..... my off hours were all during the day and I just wanted to sleep then before the next shift.....what a waste of a weeks leave still I earned about 2 months worth of wages from it, didn't go back in 96 because i'd just got married and then I could never get the time off after that, now being medically retired I cant go either though not for lack of time and its only a few miles down the road ...... life heh its always something to through you a curve ball/

Holy crap that is a walk down memory lane - I didn't know that had been filmed, or at least broadcast. Thank you so much. My neighbours? Possibly not so much! It's a little ropey in places, but largely as I remembered it. Those guys were fantastic on Gallows Pole as well - remember the hurdy-gurdy man? Also fun to see Porl Thompson from The Cure on guitar - he'd already left them but RP made some joke about him being a man with two jobs. I was looking for him during The Cure, later, but didn't see him. I had such a great time that weekend. I was only really there to see The Stone Roses, who cancelled. I saw Pulp instead, and then the Roses in Cork a couple of months later, at what Mani regards as the second best Stone Roses gig ever. A good summer. Nice! the roses were who I was wanting to see that year, in fact, I was so pissed off that they cancelled that I couldn't bring myself to watch Pulp, who took their slot, and watched The Shamen instead... and they were a bit shit tbh . I only managed to finally see the stone roses three or four years ago, Glasgow Green... they were amazing. Still going to glastonbury when I can, it still good, but can't hold a candle to those days. I was a concert photographer for an agency until a couple of years back, and I would have been able to shoot the Stone Roses on that tour. I regret the fact that I didn't, but at the time I feared it might destroy the perfection of my memory of the 95 gig. I watched the Shane Meadows film and cried like a baby, but at least I can laugh about it now. I have shot Pulp on one of their reunion tours, as my memory of them wasn't quite so sacred. They were excellent though. Both times. Jarvis is a star. I think the crowd for Oasis might be the biggest I've ever been in, which was slightly surreal as I'd seen them in a club of 300 the night Definitely Maybe went to number one a few months earlier. I'm going to put Glasgow Green and Glastonbury together and ask a seemingly random question - are you any kind of Waterboys fan, by any chance? Mike Scott was the 'other' reason I was there in 95 - he was in the acoustic tent that year, but has been a regular on the Pyramid Stage over the years.

Mike Scott was the 'other' reason I was there in 95 - he was in the acoustic tent that year, but has been a regular on the Pyramid Stage over the years. Its hard to say if it would have been a disappointment for you as I never got to see the back in the day, but Glasgow knows how to have a good time and it was a perfect day for me. I've always been cautious to go and see the Pixies again, I saw them in 88 or 89 when I was about 17 and it was just brilliant. I finally decided to get tickets to see them but forgot to get them... barrowlands sold out in a couple of hours . I've actually never seen the waterboys, although its not that I don't like them. when I look at the 1995 lineup I'm astounded at all the amazing acts that I missed... The Shane Meadows film was fantastic for sure, the stone roses are my favorite band that were contemporary with my youth. I remember buying the stone roses the day it came out, had a nice embossed cover (vinyl), I never liked Oasis at all, they felt a bit like a poor replacement for the roses, probably unfair, but I do hate the way Liam sings through his nose... My first glastonbury was 1993 and I didn't miss one until 1999

In 1971, Led Zeppelin released Stairway To Heaven. One of the best songs ever of the most overrated songs ever. I fixed it for you! Because I am a nice guy, and we are friends.

Edit: messed up the quote somehow - the bit about the Stone Roses being your favourite contemporaneous band. Me too, on the first part, with the exception of That Petrol Emotion, who coincidentally were the only band the Stone Roses ever played support to. That album is perfection, and I have the same vinyl copy. I love the cover as well as the music. My partner went to the University in Paris where it all kicked off in 68, and we live up the road from the Giant's Causeway, which gives its green moss colour to the background layers. I suspected a subliminal Led Zeppelin acknowledgement even before The Second Coming! At the time I was too busy trying to persuade people they were just an improved version of Big Country. Some people still refuse to hear the similarities, presumably because Big Country are thought of as somehow uncool. I've always loved John Squire's artwork as much as his guitar playing. Well, almost. The Double Dorsal Doppelganger cover of Fools Gold is probably my favourite painting by anybody. I'll add that I grew tired of Oasis within a year, and never rated them as anything other than a good pub band. I find Noel to be good value in interviews though. Never seen the Pixies myself, but only Frank Black and the Catholics and The Breeders. I've been in the backstage presence of the Deal Sisters, and they really are both Cool as F*ck.

These were the guys AC/DC with Bon Scott. Dirty Deeds 1976 Too bad Bon had to die to inspire their best album. Not a Bon v Brian comment, just the truth about Back in Black. I do love Highway to Hell and Powerage (and If You Want Blood is a great live album) but Back in Black transcends its genre.
