I agree, some guys look gorgeous with long hair, but Luke's wasn't long, it wasn't short, it was some strange poofy...actually, what kind of hairstyles was it meant to be? I'd call it a medium feathered shag...? maybe? It does look like what happened was that his hair had grown out and they just trimmed his bangs though. Huh, I wonder what it'd look like if someone put their hands on his head and ruffled it really, really hard. Anyway, to each their own on fashion. I was also not fond of the 80's clothing style and a lot of the music.

There were bands I could not stand and there were ones I loved....Then again, I think there were songs I loved and never really commited myself to too many bands...maybe 15 or so.

I mostly wore black when this song was out. Surprised the country didn't run out of the dye. Accessorizing with dog collars and worse yet discussing them individually at the pet store...

Did anyone else get an 80's vibe from Shepard's leather jacket in ME3?

Stone washed jeans and big hair. Women were so hot with big hair. I was the opposite. even at the time I never liked big "poodle" hair. My early crushes were all on women who wore their hair short (and to be fair that didn't ever really change...) I already mentioned Tasha Yar/Denise Crosby, but there were also: Peri (Nicola Bryant) from Doctor Who Janet Ellis from BBC kids' show Blue Peter Patsy Kensit Jane Wiedlin My elder sister used to have big hair, and she assured me that I would appreciate it when I got older. Never happened.

I kind of like that the 1980s weren't afraid of color in clothing and album covers. Things got kind of interesting by the late 1970s, after all the feathered hair and denim. Then of course the inevitable backlash seemed to consist of a lot of flannel.

Okay, going through I find a reference to "V" but not a link to the theme tune? This thing freaked me out as a kid (I was a lil' bit sheltered) I loved the theme. I was more freaked out by my imaginations whenever they show the lizards' larder and the slaughterhouse; the lizards licking their chops as unconscious / unknowing victims went by. Now this sent me shivering to bed because the local tv station aired it at midnight! I watched it all unknowing what it's all about except that it's about space which I love. The unexpected eerie opening had my back up but I stayed out of curiosity.

I was besotted with Tegan (Janet Fielding), even though most of her Dr Who career was spent with that bloke off All Creatures Great and Small. Still, lucky he had that hat.

One of the best songs ever Anyone with more than a passing interest in this or music from that era should check out David Hepworth's "1971 - Never a Dull Moment: Rock's Golden Year." I learned, among other things, that the song was aired live for the first time in Belfast, my hometown. I was only two so I missed it, although I was lucky enough to see Page and Plant perform at Glastonbury in 95. They didn't play it, but we did get Kashmir, The Rain Song and Thank You, which are all even better imo.

Do you even Sarah Jane Smith? That's a whole different kind of pre-pubescent love, my friend. I was more than a little upset when she died not that long ago, but I never felt that way about her - she was more like your favourite aunt or something, to me. Tegan though? I had to feckin marry an Australian girl to try to work her out of my system. That worked, just about, though I wouldn't recommend it. My dad was quite taken with Leela, I seem to remember. He was younger then than I am now, so I'm not surprised.

I heard some of you talking about KISS :this album must recalls some memories I imagine... img.discogs.com/RQTplMp7jTrKL4js7yiUhIq531w=/fit-in/300x300/filters:strip_icc():format(jpeg):mode_rgb():quality(40)/discogs-images/R-696588-1198759264.jpeg.jpgI got it for a Chrismas, it's like I have obtained something sacred. When there was a concert on TV (very rare), a meteor could stroke the earth, nothing could disturb us from the show, we were so much obsessed. We were fascinated by their makeup, not knowing who they were, until the Lick it up album. One other great album is Alive II, sooooo good, those guitars! Totally electric :Calling DR.love, Shock me, I stole your love (damn the intro... ), a successfull live album where the music was transcended by the sound of the guitars. I envy those who saw them in live : you're so lucky... and as we were talking of Scooby Doo, I forgot this: Sorry to make the pleasure last, I can't get enough

Kashmir is my most vivid memory of that gig.

Possibly not so much! It's a little ropey in places, but largely as I remembered it. Those guys were fantastic on Gallows Pole as well - remember the hurdy-gurdy man? Also fun to see Porl Thompson from The Cure on guitar - he'd already left them but RP made some joke about him being a man with two jobs. I was looking for him during The Cure, later, but didn't see him. I had such a great time that weekend. I was only really there to see The Stone Roses, who cancelled. I saw Pulp instead, and then the Roses in Cork a couple of months later, at what Mani regards as the second best Stone Roses gig ever. A good summer.

Nice! the roses were who I was wanting to see that year, in fact, I was so pissed off that they cancelled that I couldn't bring myself to watch Pulp, who took their slot, and watched The Shamen instead... and they were a bit shit tbh . I only managed to finally see the stone roses three or four years ago, Glasgow Green... they were amazing. Still going to glastonbury when I can, it still good, but can't hold a candle to those days.
