I have a weird thing for paper and pens and pencils. As in I'm very picky- about which pen I use on different papers- I'm not some high end collector I just have strong preferences for "this pen for this paper" lol. So I tried googling for an image of this but I cannot find it but does anyone remember when recycled paper first hit the market in the US during the 90's? You could buy loose leafed and ruled recycled paper- it was a gray color and had a similiar feel to newspaper but thicker. My whole point is I REALLY liked this paper when I was going to high school and college and I bought stacks of it and I still have a small stash of it  Seeing how ball point pens are ubiquitous this paper was my go to for them. Ball point pens tend to skip on a lot of different papers- but on this kind- it was smoothhhhhhhhhh sailing. Anyway, anyone remember this paper I'm talking about?  |

I enjoy fine china but I only own one set (due to the fact that I have four wild children , I'd rather not go ballistic when they break it) but I do know how to calligraphy and make paper. I did a lot of that growing up- I used to make my own hand bound books and use fabrics from my dresses to make the covers (this is making me sound like I'm 100 years old, for real, I'm only 41 ). I just like making things There are online sites to learn calligraphy if that's something you're interested in (although a live class sounds more palatable for calligraphy in a some ways). I addressed my own wedding invitations Calligraphy has uses! |

In my ample spare time I want to take calligraphy classes and classes on papermaking. well wookey hole caves and paper mill used to run those paper making classes and one of the art studios nearby ran companion calligraphy classes, which I might have been forced to take as a child .... I hate calligraphy (as in doing it) never had the motor control for it (but then I write like a spider crawled through an ink blot) my missus otoh ditched her calligraphy set a few years back because she hadn't used it in a decade ... but paper making that was something I enjoyed nice physical job with plenty of potential to build up a good sweat, almost as therapeutic as splitting logs when you've got something on your mind |

So what are the earliest songs that you remember falling in love with from your lifetime? Ok, I remember I loved this song so much that I would sing it all the time when I was about 3 years old, but I also remember it was playing in my father's VW Beetle when we were on the highway and I was standing on the front seat in the middle, dancing and singing it when my father slammed on the breaks and I flew face first into the dashboard ash tray. I have a scar through my right eyebrow from that experience.  So now I have mixed feelings about this song. I remember hanging out in a friends basement and her brother would crank this song. And this one I loved when my babysitter's boyfriend would crank it in his convertible when he'd come pick us up and take us for ice cream. Pam, my babysitter was pretty cool, she will always be my favorite babysitter. |
