amoebae -- Cinematic Tools no longer work post-patch for me. I do see the error message, it briefly suggests rolling back to DirectX 11 and then the game crashes.

MelissaGT - some of your shots don't show up for me in this thread. I see them usually when you first post them, like the Liam portraits, but then they're replaced with the standard flickr "image no longer available" white square. I wonder is anyone else seeing this? Is it a problem with permissions, or reuploading a version so the file name changes? Hmm, I did swap out a couple Flickr ones because I realized after the fact that I uploaded the wrong version...some shots I have so many versions of. I'll upload it and then be like CRAP! after I realize I uploaded the wrong one. I also realized that my Bandicam shots don't have color profiles assigned to them, so while they looked great on my computer, when viewed on a web browser they looked way different. So I went through and assigned the sRGB color profile to each of them and re-uploaded. I can go through my old posts and check the links.

I can always see them the first time I view, but when coming back to the thread, some will have changed to the white square. And then on another viewing, they're usually visable again. Right now, her last post/screenshot is showing up as a white square for me... EDIT: The Cinematic Tools aren't working anymore? I haven't patched my game yet...

I'll send a message to hattiwatti and see if he knows. I recommend everyone hold off on updating the game for the time being if you want to continue using the tools then.

I guess I'll use Ansel for now...hopefully the crashes it was causing me will be better. Also, my past posts should be good now. Those were the ones that I had to assign the sRGB color profile to in order to get them to display properly on the web browser. It was driving me nuts figuring out why my stuff online looked so much darker.

It's usually better than Steam in this regard, interestingly enough. I have Origin set to never update games automatically. A top tip for anyone who uses external tools or mods of any kind in any game. Obviously it means you can't do strike missions or multiplayer, but that's not a big deal for me.

I'll admit, I was so excited over the supposed improvements that I did jump the gun on updating, lol. And yeah, with Steam I've had many occasions of shouting and screaming because my game would ninja update...I haven't figured out a way to turn them off short of always staying off-line. As soon as I would go online for any reason, then they'd get me.

Even restarting in offline mode won't let you. I still turn off auto-updates for everything, but it makes little difference.

Just opened Origin and clicked "Go Offline" and the big orange button changed from Update to Play - so it looks like we should be good to go. Haven't started the game yet - still eating my tea.

There is a new game ready driver for NVIDIA - 381.65. It's newer than the one that came out for ME:A, which was 378.92.
I wondered if those who have the patch are running the new driver or the old one? And if the old one, does updating to the new one fix any of the Cinematic Tools issues? (I don't think it will do since they are usually compatibility issues between the two exes, but it's worth a shot.)

Doubt it will change anything, however I've seen people complain on all the platforms that they can't even start the game because they get an infinite black screen. I patched the game and I've started it without any issues prior to the NVIDIA driver update so I don't think I'll have any issues even after that, but someone mentioned that updating their driver fixed the black screen issue.

Awwe nuts!! I hope he update the tools too, the patch fixed so much QOL stuff and I really want to check it out. And I can't play with my friends in multiplayer either, might have to give it and patch it on the weekend. Sadness.

There are lots of fixes on reddit for people not being able to open the game after the patch. Anything from deleting the patch folder, deleting the exe, and getting Origin to redownload everything, to keeping the game offline. I expect part of it might have been corrupted patching because of the volume of server traffic as everyone tried to do it at once.

I forgot, you'll have to deal with those crashes again now you're back to using Ansel for freecam for a while. I hope it fixes it for you. And I hope hattiwatti has a bit of time on his hands to update the tools. The early stages of a game are the most frustrating for screenshotters, as patches come quite quickly and everything breaks so frequently.

Anyone heard of mods being possibly released in the future for Andromeda? I don't feel the urge to mod the shit out of the environment and the squadmates because the textures look really great (contrary to previous games) but... ya know? To have something a little extra that could make screenshots look even more unique. To be honest I have no idea how long it usually takes for people to come up with mods for an RPG like that.

To have something a little extra that could make screenshots look even more unique. To be honest I have no idea how long it usually takes for people to come up with mods for an RPG like that. Mods in DA:I were for the most part restricted to skin/hair/makeup and some new eye textures, and then material textures and colours for clothing, porting armour models from unique characters, and adding materials and blueprints to vendors' inventories. There may have been a few more, but those were the main type I saw. It usually takes a little while to work out the file structure and how to get new files into the game. If it's possible, then I'd expect the first mods to be things that add new textures to the casual outfits, making the default Ryder skin textures available on another preset, maybe some hair options, that sort of thing. Probably edits to NPC makeup too. You can already use cheat engine to give yourself credits and materials, and probably even augments although I haven't tried that - so that's not something that needs modding.

I went ahead and updated my game, then updated to the new 381.65 drivers (I was previously using 378.92), and the Cinematic Tools don't work, sadly. I got a bunch of yellow text... something about a "MISMATCH" (that little black window closed out before I could read it all), and then a couple seconds later my game crashed. So, back to NVIDIA Ansel for now. Hopefully the Cinematic Tools will get an update. *fingers crossed*

Keep an eye on hattiwatti's twitter, see if he says anything. I've sent a tweet to let him know, but he's a busy guy so it's not going to be his first priority: twitter.com/Hattiwatt1/with_replies

Finally rolling out into Kadara. Wow. That is definitely my fave of yours so far! Wonderful composition, and the colours are gorgeous. Also love how the "cool" blue/black of the Nomad is in the shadows and the "warm" brown of the fungi and rocks are in the sun. It doesn't even look like a game screenshot... it looks like a digital painting. Awesome!
