Given how often Bioware has reincarnated BG characters, I really hope Dragon Age 4 gives a Spiritual Successor to Saverok . Preferably a ruthlessly pragmatic and ambitious Imperial Reaver/Spirit Warrior. While he wouldn't be my first choice, I could see RPing an ambitious Magister to Romance him with, to begin a powerful new dynasty. Oh, and let us recruit him early in the game this time .

I love Sarevok, both as a villain and companion. I just really liked the simplicity of his goal to gain power, along with his plans to achieve it. Mainly because you can see how his plans could work without PC interference, and even though he's chaotic evil he's not ever stupid evil. In many ways I prefer him to Irenicus.

There is also a fair amount of Jaheira in Morrigan. Tell me a shape changing witch of the wilds with an acid tongue doesn't remind you of the exiled Harper. On my very first play through I became convinced that Jaheira plus Viconia = Morrigan, while Aerie plus Imoen = Leliana ( an unordained chantry priestess who is also a rogue and thief_.

Bioware recycled so many of the previous characters into Dragon Age, it would be easier to find any who weren't reincarnated . Not necessarily a criticism, as expies can allow writers and players to take the new characters in directions the old couldn't go.

Not necessarily a criticism, as expies can allow writers and players to take the new characters in directions the old couldn't go. It's by design. Many of the Dragon Age team had grown up playing Baldur's Gate, and wanted to pay homage to their favorite characters.

SO I felt the itch and started up a new BG2 game. ROlling a sorcerer. First time, since so many of the companions are arcane casters it just seems reduntant to play one myself. Still, being able to fling fireballs myself IS fun

I recently restarted SoD, with half-orc Shaman bc why not, haven't tried that kit/race before. The only downside is that shamans don't get any stronghold (Druid grove, De'Arnise Keep etc.) in BG2. Then again, it is not a big deal for me. More painful was to realise that Anomen won't romance a half-orc. Drat. I guess I will have to find a mod that will make it happen.

Edwin romance is also very good, I can recommend if you like romances. Edit 2. Not surr if Edwin romance is still available. Link in spellhold studios seems to be broken. Hmm...

I tried the flirt pack before and didn't care for it. I noticed SHS doesn't seem to be available, I was looking for an Imoen and Mazzy friendship mods there... I'm also keeping an eye on this. Once the mod makes Mazzy romanceable I'll finally be able to run a short character! forums.beamdog.com/discussion/71473/playable-clara-all-things-mazzy-version-1-037

I've been meaning to do another play through with a gnome bard. I'm just trying to decide on a kit and party for her. Either vanilla bard or jester would fit best I think. So far I've only played with the "canon party" plus Jan Jansen. So I'll probably just try out everyone and keep who I like the most or something.

I usually have Minsc, Jaheira, Viconia and Edwin in my party. I use the fifth spot to pick up every other npc and do their quests, after Asylum Yoshimo is replaced by the lil sis.

Yoshimo's betrayal and death hit me very hard on the very first playthrough, and it came totally out of the blue for me. How naive and young I was back then... If you pick a spy to your group from an enemy dungeon, honestly, what do you think will happen. I've become way more sarcastic and cynical and if games have taught me anything, it is that anyone can and will betray you if the price is right.

I have little memories of the story characters in BG, except for Bo. The only BG I played was Shadow of Amn or something. I merely watched friends play it, when my hardware wouldn't run it.
When I played I rolled the player character I think as custom. And then I went on to create custom characters. There was a monk, I think a priest and then there was - there was this dwarf. Handpicked. Meticulously chiseled from stone. The embodiment of arcane ignorance. The anti-magicster. No spell would stop him.
There was one room in the sewers. A Lich King on the other side. Some skelingtons in between. The Lich King was powerful. I tried the "grind your way through" method and failed when one by one the characters fell. I tried some more, but then I thought, hey just presto Mr Antimagitic and rush the Lich. And so I did. Lich king fired like one spell. Dwarf took a couple hits running through the bone men, but then it was chopchop time: Constant fumbling of the poor Lich King trying to cast a spell under the stern strokes of a dwarf who simply didn't understand magic or any of its effects. He didn't have a full storyline. Standard dialogues. But he surely wrote his story himself. One of the most memorable characters I've ever played in a RGP. Adventure? RPG-Adventure?

Constant NPC betrayal can lead to "KoS" and killerhobo player groups. If anyone and anything is gonna betray you - why let anyone live? This should be applied in small doses.

Been playing this game for years, and still noticing little details. Like on Waukeen's Promenade, in the circus area, there's a bunch of animals in cages. One of them is a moose. But also in the cage is a squirrel...

But I'm not sure, if Supernatural was already airing when BG2 were made.
