People are over exaggerating over the facial animations. Go do the beginning Eos outpost establishment and watch Addison's face when you hear her say "Be aware" towards the end of the conversation. Her entire face is blank and her eyes aren't even looking at Ryder. Ive seen this on more than one occasion. Bioware apparently couldn't be troubled to make sure a NPC's eyes were even looking at the right spot. That is not an over exaggerating. That is downright ridiculous.

Yeah, if I had to rate ME:A I would give it something like 6 or 7. Without the bad animations I would give it 7 or 8. I play on the Xbox One and don't understand where you all are seeing the "bad animations". I've got over 40 hours of playtime and haven't seen anything I'd say would knock the game down to a 6/10. I give the game an 8.5/10 purely for the fun factor alone. I've only been to 2 planets and I'm hoping it won't be too repetitive, but I really don't see what all the fuss is over.

I agree with most of what he said from what I've experienced in 30+ hours so far. But with the bugs and technical issues, I can't go higher than a 5/10. If they patch some of this stuff I may be able to go as high as a 7, but that's probably it. Some of the writing is terrible in parts. I watched Sara Ryder try to flirt with Suvi, and I swear they wrote it like Sara was a tween asking someone out for the first time. Also, the scenes when for every time you get on the Tempest, leave a planet or anything become annoying when you're doing these quests that have you going back and forth between places for no reason whatsoever. You can't even get on the ship without taking off. Thanks for reminding me about that. WHY is it that we can't board the Tempest while its parked?????????? It's so damn annoying. I may have to drop my 8.5/10 to an 8/10 just for that.

Bioware apparently couldn't be troubled to make sure a NPC's eyes were even looking at the right spot. That is not an over exaggerating. That is downright ridiculous. The worse one was when you first arrive on the Nexus and tell Addison about Alec. The lack of emotion on either person's face, or in their voice was just terrible, in a scene that was supposed to be serious. They cut to the close up of Ryder's face and it looks like he/she is daydreaming, oblivious to what is going on. The irony in Addison being the one to say my face is tired is hilarious because she has some of the worst, if not the worst facial animations in the game. But I think the dead eyes is what drags it down the most. I can't get into a lot of scenes because the character's eyes are just dead or just staring off somewhere not even looking at the person they're talking to. It does happen a lot. It just handicaps the voice actors, who aren't the strongest to begin with, because the characters face doesn't convey anything they're trying to get across.

In my book, " 6 " is a bad game not a good game, and Joe said that MEA is a good game. He said it was slightly above average. I believe he said it could be a good game once everything gets patched up but he most definitely said it's slightly above average at the moment.

Characters are lifeless, movement animations can get wonky and just weird. I haven't had a character outright do what Sloan did in joes video but my god that's awful if it happens to people. There's also the issue of certain NPCs just sitting in one spot and moving in an awkward way (look at most of the nexus security).

I think Joe wants a new Shepard, so his review is too bias, he gets little things wrong too. This game actually appeals more for a Star Trek audience, not so much for a Space Marines kinda of person. I don't think his desire for Shepard or a main character wtih some balls at least, gives him bias. He still gets the main problems with the game down and they talk about the positives well. But this game doesn't hold a candle to Star Trek - not even the Abrams verse... This game is full on space marines with some batman investigative mode and the batmobile thrown in.

I have to disagree, not all protagonists have to be hardasses and he wants one. I find his friend in the middle a better judge of things. Also the original Star Treks were corny as fuck at times with a more family and positive vibe. Another thing I disagree with is the Suvi flirty dialogue, again it is not for straight guys. I found it adorable and extremely cute people need to chill.

Sure Star Trek could get super corny but they knew when to get serious. This game rarely does that. And no one "flirts" like that with anyone unless they're a teenager.

I think that the low quality animations are very noticeable, from awkward facial animations to cringy animations during cut-scenes. Well, after 100 plus hours in the game now, I can see where you all are coming from. I was just too engrossed in the gameplay early on to notice it I guess. From scenes where characters will speak, but there will no mouth movement, to bodies being cropped mid-scene, to alien AI doing the duck walk, pretty all of them do that, waddling I guess you'd call it. The bad animations aside, I just wish I could go into the Tempest without the mother F'ing thing taking off from wherever it is. Holy shit, who came up with the idea to just blast off from where it sits??????

I'd give MEA a 6-6.5 out of 10 (with average being 5). Once the animations and bugs get worked out (such as Charge's bugginess), and if they do something about weapons not scaling with enemies past level 80, I'd give it a 7.5. A good game, but not great.

It's so bizarre to watch happening.

It's so bizarre to watch happening. The conversation with Liara bugs the living shit out of me, but there seems to be a way around it by selecting the dialogue in a specific sequence, which I can no longer remember exactly but it involves Glyph. The problem is Shepard's head tracking stupid Glyph as it moves around the two of them. But if you get the dialogue where Glyph talks about fixing the schedule to be more efficient with Liara saying that was the reason it was confined to her quarters, that doesn't happen.

I've experienced the eye tracking stuff more than head. The only instance I can really remember happening regularly was the Liara convo bug in her quarters. But here and there I might get one where the eyes move too far in one direction, though that doesn't happen often enough to drive me crazy.

Ryder doesn't need to be a hardass, but he doesn't need to be a doormat either. Sure Star Trek could get super corny but they knew when to get serious. This game rarely does that. And no one "flirts" like that with anyone unless they're a teenager. Let us just disagree on that point, I think it has a Star Trek vibe, you do not, it is fine. Also the whole point is having a young lesbian and someone with little experience. Sure Suvi does not appeal to me but I am going to repeat myself here, that scene is not for straight males. Well, definitely not a straight male here and still thought that initial flirt was corny as hell. Don't think I've seen someone flirt like that since I was 14.

I found it cute maybe people are different and have diverse experiences.

Still my favorite LI in the game overall, despite having less content than most.
