This is what Dragon Age 2 did, and I think they should have done it in every game after. The discussion here Is that while that system gives everyone what they want it also takes something away from the character. Also if characters are always bi they are never a representation for a certain sexuality. I personally wouldn't mind a playersexual system with unique dialogue based on the gender you choose. I think that is the most fair way to go about it, but i also get the representation angle. There will never be a win situation when it comes to romances. I think an interesting and refreshing twist would be to add game option to randomly determine sexual orientation of romancable characters. So it will not leave anyone out but at the same time will not feel like complete fanservise. Also there might be surprises on new playthroughs. But otherwise I think making all characters romancable by both genders (not necessary BI as in stating that character is a bisexual, but just let player himself determine who is what orientation in his playthrough. sort of like a new classless system we got in Andromeda without hardcoded classes) adds to roleplay ability of the game, providing that character writing is good and romances are more than just "lets bang" dialogues.

This may be sarcasm but this is all i'm seeing all over every thread and comment section about romances, straight guys want Suvi. Poor them. :lmfao: which makes it feel being done on purpose That's the problem with double standards, they always come back to bite you in the ass... always. ...and no, you can't have Cora, since - based on her design - that would be a "harmful stereotype".

In fairness it does seem like they didn't give good options if you want to go for a more human looking species (which is understandable as I think some just can't relate to shipping with aliens).
Cora (and PB depending if you feel okay with this match if you don't want to do aliens) for a straight male? Sad thing is they probably believe these are awesome characters but they are not really that well liked according to posts I have read. Certainly not my preference. Not very appealing as far as characters go.
Liam for straight female. See above. Reyes if you are down with criminals who have a heart of gold. He's probably one of the more interesting characters but I haven't heard anything about how this romance might be other than you can't really take it anywhere. Might be a bug.
Gil for gay males. He's is sort of minimally a character.
A huge part of the problem is the writing of these characters. Cora and Liam aren't really written that well to a lot of people.
My straight ryders have been single. Not even flirting except for my Sara teasingly flirting with reyes as it seemed appropriate for how they interacted.
They really need to raise the bar on their human character development and not do these sort of copy/pastes that they did here. Cora is far to close to Kaidan with regards to some of her issues (biotic/rejection in rlshps and rejection of biotics). Liam? Well, I wouldn't romance him if he was the only option. Oh wait. He pretty much is if I want to stick with humans as a female ryder.
Gil isn't even half way as interesting or cool as our pilot in ME3 whose name fails me now. He was a pretty great character. By comparison? Gil really doesn't live up to being half that well developed.
So it's not a matter of one group feeling shafted. I think it's a matter of the quality of the characters we are handed. Generally they are not that great.

Instead of MakeSuviBi, why not MakeAllBi? That way everyone gets the character they want. It'd stop all the upset and frustration caused by people of all sexualities about lack of content when everyone gets the same content. but then LGBT crowd will have nothing left to complain about and call ppl on their gender superiority and BW on lack of inclusion.... no, we cant do that to them. That would be.... intolerant. I'm not convinced this gets us very far, I see there being no more a 'LGBT crowd' than there is a 'Straight crowd.' Individuals have their own views. What is provable is that male gay players were uniquely unable to reach an achievement of 3 m/m romances, something available to m/f, f/m and f/f gamers. Seems rather ungenerous to be snarky about it if you already have more romance options than others, hmmm? [and with my mod hat on, I already fear this thread may go badly, but let's see if a civil discussion may be possible... ]

I don't see the point of this, but it's no worse than #MakeJaalBi, even though it will be treated as terrible by the same people advocating the latter. I remember that with the ME3 and DAI mods. Making characters like Cassandra or Cullen available for same-sex relationships was seen as totally fine, but making characters like Samantha or Sera available for opposite-sex relationships was seen as being terrible person despite it being the exact same thing.

That's why they should be open to all, or perhaps having a preference option at character creation. That way everyone can romance who they want to romance, unless that character specifically lacks a romance option.

I don't have a dog in this fight but the 'representation' argument people continually make about having lesbian and gay characters instead of bi ones has a lot of uncomfortable overtones.

[and with my mod hat on, I already fear this thread may go badly, but let's see if a civil discussion may be possible... ]quantity =/= quality. Despite technically having more romances, only one of them is anywhere near to feel believable and relatable (2 if you count PB), but unfortunately character behind that romance is left to be desired for a number of reasons, ranging from looks, to age (in relation to protagonist), to personality - as all of it was purposely combined picking worst possible options for combination, which will not surprise me considering that ppl like Manveer Heir were designing Andromeda. I would go as far as saying that straight males got the short end of the stick in Andromeda with all their romance options ranging from uninteresting to repulsive. So I am totally for exchanging all that diversity of a freak show, which feels more like a way to laugh and insult straight male protagonist players, for Suvi, or any straight romanceable character from original trilogy, and let LGBT crowd sort through those wonderful romance options straight male protagonist got. And while your mod hat on, I strongly suggest you to make sure that sarcasm and irony understanding mode is switched on on that hat of yours So far thread has been going light, just the way it was meant to be.

To be honest, instead of blaming the gay people, it's often the straight group that got offended over the playersexual. I barely see gay player got upset set DA2 simply because there wasn't any gay characters in DA or ME up to that point, and they simply having 1 more option. It was the straight players who said "eww... Anders hitting on me". Bioware has never made a bisexual character in the history of the company, they made playersexual, their options were made for the opposite gender first, Kaidan scenes were basically modified from femShep, Reyes was even more obvious with Ryder looking up at the sky, Ryder sway his hip and pop out his ass, Vetra called Scott Reyes' queen and baroness, obviously from Sara. I honestly could give a damn about everyone being playersexual because the number of gay options would never change, regardless of which method they take, DAO, 1 bi, 2 straights, DA2 2 gay 3 straight for females, DAI 2 gay 4 straight females option (In a game where the majority of the options are guys, the gays still have 2 options), ME1 and 2, no gay option, ME3 1 gay nonsquadmate CC face and a bi option modded from female, gay options will always be less than other groups but with playersexual, at least, our quality would increase because it wasn't an afterthought like with Gil which has half the content, no squadmate and CC face. This is not just a sudden explosion, it was an accumulation of all the game so far and especially with ME Andromeda instead of progressing, it's regressing.
