No offense but I really hope Avitus is full on gay. I think it'd be good for people to come into terms with that gay people can be epic, badass and cool as well.

Agreed.  I know that there's no evidence that he's gay (versus being bi), but it would be awesome for there to finally be a capable gay male frontline soldier/warrior in one of these games.  So far, all of the gay guys are either NPCs or Dorian.  And while Dorian is capable, he's a mage.  Avitus is a Spectre and Pathfinder.  He's in the same "bad ass" categories as Shep and Ryder.  It would be great if he were gay.  Of course, I'd like him as a m/m LI in a future game.  But even if he were just a badass squadmate who isn't romanceable but is unapologetically gay, I could get behind that.

Plus, we all know that if he were bisexual, he'd have peppered in a half dozen references to fucking asari and how turned on he is by female turian flexibility, right?  Because all bisexual guys need to be coded as definitely still interested in "banging" blue space babes, right?

Assuming he would be able to romance people, Avitus being full blown gay would discriminates against players who are straight men.

They need to be able to bang females in their breakthroughs.

This is Spectre Pathfinding in Andromeda not the Gay Galactic Migration.  Andromeda's failure was partially due to Bioware's using the game to push progressive liberal agendas.

Plus we don't really know how Turians mate.  All our prior main protags were human.  Turian and humans are incompatible on that level.

How is the inclusion of gay men discrimination against straight men?
Does it hurt you knowing that someone you find cool might actually be a gay man? 

Avitus? Playable character? Why would that happen?

Being gay does not prevent someone from being badass.  There is no "despite" here.

So if Avitus did show up in a major role in the sequel, I hope that his story arc isn't the rehashed, "I just don't know if I can love again......Oops, all better! Thanks Magic PC Dick!" story that they've done now with all of the other Carth Syndrome victims. I'd want his loyalty to focus on turian colonization efforts. And I'd want his romance to have just a reference or two to Macen (since it would be just as silly to forget that he existed), but focus more on the "now" than the past.

It's really a shame that Raeka has determinant status because I would LOVE to see Avitus and Raeka together as an ass-kicking Pathfinder duo in future games. Either way, there's a lot of potential with Avitus. Outside of Shep, Saren, and the Virmire Survivor, we've only had passing encounters with Spectres. It would be great to explore that experience without it being focused on Shep and humanity.
