GW2Nothing like a 10 fps fight to remind you how the game don't handle big open world boss battles with a lots of FX well. Weirdly, I remember that fight being way harder with lots of downed players, I guess the devs made it less nasty because people can barely do anything (I read there was a bug since 2022 with perfo there). SkyrimDan the Bard decided to go explore a cave because he doesn't know what else to do. He found a lute there!. But I can't get it to work with my Bard mod. I need to go recheck the mod to see how this work, I thought it just said to click on it in inventory. At least he got the Silver Tongue perk now.
edit: Dan can now play his Lute, I confused two mods. Also, he almost died there, because he missed his moving target a bit too much...This is his favorite kills of the day thought Right in the ear You hit him right in the frick of the ear! (There's a story behind that expression, if you're interested I'll tell you about it sometime)

GW2I started the last episode of the Icebrood Saga and finished the previous one. So much fighting in Champions. Also, I think this is the first time I do the Dragon Response missions in public mode and a little Asura play came along for the first 4. I stopped after that, my left hand was hurting. Like I said, so much fighting. Basically 15 minutes each of none stop battle...with a lots of dodging because it's raining meteors that cause shockwaves (I never really understood how the underground destroyers can be raining down but whatever).
BG3 is celebrating it's 1st anniversary. I was thinking of returning to it, but after loading it up to the menu, I couldn't decide between continuing my last character from months ago or making something new. So I closed it.
Looks like I'm in an undecided gamer mode right now. I can't even pick between Solitude or Riften for Dan the Bard (Solitude for my modded Bard college stuff or Riften for the Thieves Guild).
And I'm getting destroyed in Starfield, that weapon rebalancing mod is puncturing my suit a lot. And my aiming is very shit with my current mouse.

Horizon: Forbidden West Started Burning Shores - made it to Los Angeles and met Seyka. Her skiff is pretty cool, but I am pissed that they seem to have killed my Sunwing Anyway - have had a look around camp and found some Brimshine. Haven't crossed the bridge to help Seyka yet - more just getting bearings in the new area.

FYI the boss fight is several different stages/missions and will take a while so don't start it if you are planning to stop and want to do it continuously.

Fallout 4So when a game glitches out on you you have a choice to just stop doing what you are doing and move on, or just keep on going. And well reasons wanted to keep on going. Tonight's agenda and pretty much the only thing...going after Kellog and trying to find Shaun. One oddity happened very early on. Had to go and get the key from Mayor McDonough's office and from the synth himself. Thing is, Piper was there. Now she is supposed to be at the Red Rocket truck stop...at least as far as I know. Also find it funny how starting the quest at this point basically just summons Dogmeat right to your location. Dogmeat took me all the way to Fort Hagan and well...boss fight with Kellog soon followed and I forgot the man was invisible or could be. At least for a bit. Sub Machine gun solved him. Oh and before this I did get stuck by a chair and table so when I spawned back in, well reloaded to the beginning of the fort interiror, just bull rushed right on through. Going to be curious to see the justifications and oddities for this, I even think I have the answer in my head. But Kellog went off to retrieve young Shaun. Of course we're supposed to wonder about things and it makes us think its supposed to be the real Shaun. My guess is that the Synth Shaun escaped because he thinks he is a real boy and then Kellog went to get him. Which then leads me to wonder how Kellog looks the exact same after all this time, probably means he is a Synth...but why? I am sure I will find out eventually.

Finished the walking simulator THE INVINCIBLE, takes about 8h if you don't get stuck for a bit like me... It's an adaptation of a 1964 sci-fi novel by the same name. Never heard of it. Tempted to read it now because the game was amazing captivating sci-fi with a genuinely alien threat. Highly recommend it to all fans of the genre and people who like walking simulators. This one was a 9/10 for me. Very well crafted and acted. Looks stunning, even though I really struggled with the gamma. Game was WAY too dark for the longest time before I realized it shouldn't look like this. I could barely see anything at times, that was still true inside caves even after putting the setting back to default. I took a ton of screenshots (at 5K resolution) and you'll see the black level issues but also how beautiful the game is. I absolutely ADORE the 60s art style of everything, very reminiscent of Fallout at times. Spoiler tags for actual story spoilers and screenshot dump. Click and enjoy my brief walkthrough if you don't intend to play it: Female scientist Yasna wakes up on an alien planet confused and alone: After some aimless stumbling around I found the communication device that let me re-establish contact with the spaceship astrogator Novik. You make your way to the camp the others set up a short while ago, you were sent to check on them. Shit gets creepy, you find one of your team in a catatonic state. BAD SIGN! The robot is not functional but looks cool! Still looking for the other 3 missing scientists. Found one drop pod and life signs on my tracker: Well, turns out one of them is dead and I found the tracker on their corpse... yeah, this planet is BAD news alright! Found the research camp of the other missing scientist but no sign of him. Found a drone though and a nice tool to track the weird metal pathways everywhere. And anyway, there are weird metal structures everywhere: Then something weird happens, Yasna finds metal flowers of sorts, something like flies come out of them and then she blacks out... I already forgot some of the details (it was DAYS ago I finsihed it, you see, lol!) but I think Novik sends a drop pod to pick up Yasna and take her back to the ship but then you get to decide to investigate further and the last scientist still hasn't been located. So you land again and continue: We're at the breathtaking coast now where there are actually fish in the water! But the fish were documented before and not the interesting bit of course. More metal flowers, this can only end well... Yasna arrives at a sort of buried metal city: Nobody knows what it means, of course. Dead civilization? Yasna finds the last scientist, also in a vegetative state. Yasna decides to take his oxygen but also calls a pod to get him out of there. The other one is already back on the ship but still unresponsive. Then things go to shit because "antimats" show up, big scary robots that can anti-materialize ANYTHING. They belong to the Alliance, a rival group with a military flair. The thing almost gets Yasna but she manages to get back onto the surface. Nice view again: Yasna wants to contact the Alliance scientist, maybe they know what the hell is going on. Novik is not happy about that. Yasna could get arrested or worse. Eventually she finds the main camp: Nobody is there... it's super eerie. Yasna spots a robot on a hilltop. She finds it, gets it running and it leads her to another corpse. Only this one has been dead A LONG time, there's nothing but a skull inside the helmet. GREAT! They were digging out more weird shit: Yasna finds a map and makes her way to another camp in a cute as hell rover: And runs into more antimats... They seem dead though. Something scared the Allience bad though because they seemed in a hurry to get away. So onwards into the hole they cut out to explore what they were running from. What could go wrong! Inside are robots carrying boxes stuck in a loop. They're transporting those flies... Yasna makes contact with the flies coming out of the flowers and makes a run for it, knocking one robot out of his loop. He walks out of the cave, one anitmat wakes up and disintegrates the robot, looks at Yasna but does not fire. Yasna follows the trail of the Alliance and finds a force field: They were trying to protect themselves. She finds a lot of dead people in the blue truck... Yasna deactivates the force field, keeps walking. Eventually finds the crashed balloon surveying the area, gets more data to follow the bread crumbs: Another dead camp: Yasna finds a hidden camp inside a cave and finds a living person! Several, but only one is not catatonic: Dude is called Rohytra and not happy to see Yasna. It soon becomes apparent that the guy is not right in the head either. He is confused and lost track of time. Beautiful art style shot here: The guy is shocked when he learns that his people have been dead for over a year and he's been here ever since sending messages out to his dead crew... So he accepts her help, they sleep. Next day Rohytra cannot remember her. She gives him her entire journal and he becomes friendly again. Rohytra leaves, Yasna is still investigating what's up with the flies. She finds another force field. Yasna tries to find Rohytra who abandoned her. He's trying to signal his people again. A huge swarm of those metal flies come, the only action sequence in the game is trying to shoot at them through the force field: Both of them decide the get the fuck out of there in a super funny saucer and towards the HUGE Alliance ship, the Kondor: The saucer was in bad shape and you crash land. Yasna wakes up, Rohytra left her behind. Thanks, man! As Yasna approaches a big machine floats out of there, a sort of combat drone. Inside there are more dead bodies... The elevator to the bridge where Rohytra is is security blocked, so Yasna searches the medbay for a scan card and finds more bodies. Very Fallout now! After finding the access card, Yasna joins Rohytra on the bridge: He wants to nuke the swarm! Yasna and Novik think this is a bad idea. Yasna has deduced that some ancient dead civilization left behind metal structures that have since evolved somehow, "necro evolution". The metal organism built the city most likely and that's why it looks so weird. The flowers call upon the swarm when they feel threatened but they are not sentient. They are like plants and animals. Yasna believes they cannot be killed and antagonizing them further like this will only make these things more aggressive. I played both scenarios and was a little disappointed that nothing really changes. If you nuke the swarm it cannot be killed indeed and you evactuate the same as without doing anything and nobody seems doomed. But I guess you can headcanon that this unleashed some doomsday force on the universe. You seeminly have another choice but don't actually: Evacuate now back to Novik or wait for The Invincible, the Alliance rescue ship, to arrive. Which is actually on the way for real to retrieve their lost crew, unaware what is going on on the planet. So the implication is that everyone on the Invincible will die because the only invincible thing here is the swarm. Rohytra will stay behind either way. You cannot actually stay behind. So the game always ends with Yasna getting on the escape pod to join Novik at last. There is a little possible horror movie cliffhanger if you decide to hold onto a canister of the metal flies you picked up to study initially. So you can leave it behind or take it with you. I tried both, doesn't change anything. Inplications are catastrophic though if you take them with you. THE END

I had the same reaction. You get it back though after a bit.
Talos Principle 2 DLC
I went back to Orpheus Ascending to find the QR codes I had missed - I think it was just one since the rest I found I seem to remember finding before. Now I've started Isle of the Blessed which has a bit of a twist to it. You play as one of the NPCs from the main game and get to talk to yourself (1k) as an NPC this time around. The setting is basically 'family vacation!' to a nice island puzzle park.

The opening cinematic of the DLC where Aloy is flying to LA reminds me of House of the Dragon - she pats Sunwing (which is a great dragon name) as though it is a living thing and it makes me think I should be able to fight other flying machines in the air.

I finished Champions and tus the Icebrood Saga. I can now start End of Dragons on my badass Norn Guardian Lady.
There was still a lots of fighting to do and boss fights, but I feel like it went very well. I even finished some of those dragon response missions under 15 minutes solo (nobody joined my public instance) and none above 20 minutes (I think that's a first, it's the 3rd time I'm doing them).

I've been playing Fallout 4 since Christmas. I restarted 4 times. I finally met the second of the female love interests (Cait) and Piper got in a firefight with her. I had to run away because she is invincible. Now I can't recruit her, or even finish the quest. I tell you, Piper is madder than Mad Jack Mc'Mad, the winner of last years Mr Madman competition. I just finished all the Far Harbour DLC quests. Longfellows cabin is my first settlement to reach 100% happy. Most of my settlements tend to look the same. Scrap everything and build Sanctuary style housing. In my last start I tried to make Sanctuary look as close as possible to the Pre-War version. This time I replaced 3 of the original houses with a Diner, Clinic, and Greenhouse. Pics:

Heard that Hogwarts legacy got some new content unlocked on PC and jumped back to check it.
That new quest (PS exclusive at launch) is actually quite well done. Takes advantage of all the possible tricks in the Harry Potter universe and actually makes you feel that you are in a game about crazy magic stuff. If all quests were done so well and with so much attention to detail, I'd actually raise my current 7.5-8 rating and give the game a solid 9.
I ran around the open world, trying to recall the keybinds. The combat is still fun, but getting the flow of it is a bit clunky due to the controls. The game nails the broom flying and it's enjoyable. I believe that was the sole reason we got an open world - to fly around in it and not to engage with it's limited events. Boy, if they gave us spell casting while flying...I would be the Sky Terror.

Dragon Age 2
Running into The Last Straw, apparently the approval guide didn't quite match up to the in-game results. Anders refused to help my Hawke quell the mage rebellion, so it looks like Hawke's refusal to sneak Anders into the Chantry failed to gain the final lock-in points for Rivalry. I have decided now to turn back the clock to the second act, and try out some different things.
I have been playing once a week on my alternate world state leading up the new release (obviously I won't be finished by release at the current rate, without greater frequency...), and my Hawke mage has been an interesting change of pace. She is full purple dialogue, completely self-oriented, and sides with the Templars to avoid scrutiny. She was an Entropy/Force/Spirit Healer, but now I am going to drop Force for the Spirit school. Originally, this alternate Hawke slept through the entire companion cast plus numerous brothel employees, but I didn't pay close enough attention to the romance order, so she wound up in the third act without a partner. Now, I am going to go all in on the toxic, abusive Templar-supporting Hawke romancing rivaled Anders (who will be spared to assist Meredith against the mages, successfully this time).
So, Anders just spent the night, and Hawke asked if he wanted a sandwich. Here we go...

GW2I made a new character. Because Engineer (land) spear in the coming expac is apparently nice (and looks cool in video). And shortbow Mechanist is viable (And more fun than mace and less annoying sound FX-wise then rifle). I also pre-ordered the coming expac and used the level 80 boost on said new Engineer. She's a Norn lady too (which I really like), using my very cool fit that I had on my Ranger that I was all sad was just staying there in the character list because Ranger takes too much from my poor hand. Mechanist is easier on that (less buttons to smash).
I already unlocked Mechanist (about half-way) and did a few of skill point champion solo-ish (which is how I define if my build sucks or not, lol). Doing great at the moment.
Now I need to decide if I skip story content and just jump at End of Dragons where my Guardian is at.

Trails of Cold Steel 3.Made it to chapter 4. Got big feelings about it. Got Mona back (or well for the first time since this game came out before Tokyo Xanadu) Either way, Mona's back, back again. Haven't seen the rabbit though, but tbh I think Mona is cuter. Gimme the booze Rean. Gimme the noodles Kou. There was a line in the game which went "Who needs a passport when you've got Patrick". And now I'm really hankering for a Patrick keychain. I can see it in my mind, a tiny Chibi Patrick to help me coast through life. Alas couldn't even find a sticker with him. And googling the game is dangerous with all them plot twists waiting to happen. Look how cute he is. Lil jerk. The final fight in Chapter 3 was such a pain. First attempt I got the initiative. Every other attempt I had to watch them curb stomp me for the first 8 rounds. No idea what I did for the successful attempt, other than having decided that if I lost this one I was done for today. Eugh. Then the game had the gall to just drown me in spicy plot cutscenes afterwards. I'm trying to be mad and you just keep dialing up the intrigue/drama. Still stopped at the chapter start because I need to be more awake to comprehend the plot. But the feelings are massive and I want more.

Fallout 4Probably my first extended play session with the game and got a fair bit done. Lets see. Main thing here and the early part of it...always quite interesting when a open world game refuses to let you fast travel. Its the brotherhood of Steel. And their flying ship. But the good news is that this also let me recruit Paladin Danse and was the main thrust of the early part of my play session. Getting to know Maxon, the Brotherhood, and the rest of the Pyrdwyn's crew. On this section to its sometimes really hard to know when to be sarcastic in this game or not. I usually play sarcastic characters even characters that don't have sarcasm that much in their doppleganger tend to sometimes add it there. But Clint can be a sarcastic boy just...Fallout's sarcasm is a lot like DA 2s. Very unhinged. And well not sure if its appropriate to do so in a situation of meeting your own new CO. But occasionally Clint brought it out when talking to the crew 'cute boat'. The second bit of this though is that once again the Brotherhood remains really tempting. Like I've never gone through their campaign before and well as I said military Clint going into the military. does not like Super Muties. But well they don't tend to like anyone, there is the downside with them. So still probably the Railroad plus Deacon is my favorite character. And plus the other option with the Minutemen more thinking I did that with my Fem Vault Dweller and well I get the feeling to do it, RP wise, I'd have to spend more time working with them. Anyways did up through the first mission where we assaulted Fort Strong. First attempt it was fun the waypoint sent me down to Boston Airport and the Vertibird down there was being...fired upon and being used as target practice by the Brotherhood. I bring this up to as maybe a partial reason that when we went there. Well stupid tactics are stupid. After taking out the Behemouth the pilot reported that he was going to land and return to base to repair. I refused considering the lack of the minigun/ air support was stupid since there was another legendary muty on the ground and as far as I could tell no one else was providing air support. Well it blew up eventually killing me and frcing me to start over. Next one started on the Prydwyn and was not being shot at. Though I did get off and fight my way through on the ground, without air support, but eliminated them. So weird things happened from there as I found a Chinese grenade launcher sniper rifle...decide to stick to my current one with the penetrating armor mod. And Danse dissapeared for a bit to 'coordinate' the mission in Strong, even though he returned to the Prydwyn...and he had a lot of stuff on him. Next up after sorting this all out went back to Diamond City and Piper was again there. Thought OK maybe she is going to be there now, but went to Red Rocket later and she was there working on the WEapon Bench...Nick is in the wild though. Gonna give him Kellog's pistol eventually I think. Decided that since he gave me the mission to have Hancock go along with me to Pickman's Gallery. He commented on it but it was just a quick checkmark...no quest. Did clear it of Raiders though. Then off to the Constitution. WHich was going a lot faster then I thought, at least I thought but kept on getting more and more objectives so still in the middle of it. I guess to be fair the Captain wanted this solved without violence to and I did kind of try. But I stole it right back and even though I was hidden I guess they heard me so got into a firefight. Killed them all. Hancock didn;t like it, the robots were a bit negatively neutral, but like you stole property from a historical site ya windbags. Starting to run into some weight issues and trying to think of ways of solving it withought investing in strength. Got a lot more to invest in then just Strength or what not before I can get there, wanna get science, agility, and that thing that gives you...well concentrated fire. But on the weapons front this was complicated by me actually finding a .50 Cal Sniper Rifle in the trash somewhere. Complicating it right now to is it throws my plans into some doubt since its not a semi auto weapon like the M82 in real life, its bolt action like my .308. SO unless someone can tell me how to make it Semi Auto. I really need to peak at the mods there might not be enough of a difference between the two to justify keeping both long term. So either turn Tinker Tom's into a 50 cal or just get rid of the 50 cal...or keep it until I can get something with even more oomf to it. Or make it a semi auto gun if such a thing is possible but my read of the mods is it isn't. Anyways in an effort to save weight think I am going to go to the system of adopting a trade off between my tactical shot gun and SMG. The SMG looks like a TOmmy Gun so it definitley matches the Silver Shroud aestitic so not getting rid of it, could get rid of the shot gun then and just go with the SMG...but both weapons chew through ammo. SO the idea is when one 'runs out' I go back to base switch to the other to hopefully build up bullets for the first one, buy more bullets, rinse and repear, have less weight. Specially since at least the tacgtical shot gun is a heavy boy.

GW2My new Mechanist is awesome and I jumped right to End of Dragons with her, got farther into the story then where my Guardian was this weekend too. Sorry Lady Guardian, your sister who's pretending to be a Ranger with a mechanical pets is going advance things before you do.
Not sure I can finish EoD and last year expac (aka SoTO) before the new one release on August 20th thought. Not that big of a problem, I never played GW2 expac at releas e except for EoD.

More Isle of the Blessed. Finished the first section of puzzles and now on to the second. Found some more family to talk to but haven't found everyone yet. The Isle has 3 sections (red, green, blue) and the center which opens once you solve all the 'regular' puzzles in each area.
