And investing even a little bit in all trees to unlock Jack of All Trades destinies seems to be the best from what I remember. I might add a few points into 'warrior' tree just to be able to equip the Shepard armor set and see what it looks like. I was confused at first when I got all this stuff as a special delivery, then remembered it's an EA game so it's just some promotional tie-in gimmick. Still, my rogue is currently using the Omniblade daggers. Which reminds me.....where's my Blood Dragon Armor??

Pillars of Eternity I finished most side quests in Defiance Bay and solved the problems in Heritage Hill. I did some quests around Caed nua too - I stopped some bandits from attacking my stronghold, since we can have that

So two games on the docket today.
So just when I think i am getting bored with Madden I think I manage to get in like...Christ Eight games. Granted I kinda wanna power through my season(s) so maybe I will put it to bed this year like my original intention was. Too much to really break down each individual game so just going to go over a few notes. Dion Lewis got hurt and in fact the injury bug really bit me...hell I actually started an injured player on my O-line because my O-line was so banged up and the guy ended up fracturing his arm so he is out for the rest of the season. But anyways back to Lewis, the good news is it let me start James White, the bad news is Madden doesen't seem to consider White much of a runner so my running game really suffered. And it was a wild sequence of four games with White. First two he had like 26 catches with back to bae games with 100+ recieving yards, the third game he did so poorly he 'regressed' (lost two points from his awareness rating), and then the fourth game he either scored 3 times or just the twice. The season finale got my running game with him going again he flirted with 100 yards and my total team effort was over 100 yards. Gronk after coming back from his injury took a couple of games to get acclimated and then HE went off. Like I think 17 catches of his own with like 4 or 5 touch downs in two games (and that was without a catch the entire first half in game one). And I had a trio of games in a row with three touchdowns by a reciever (Edelman, Gronk, Gordon), in his game Gordon caught 4 balls for 160 yards. Brady finished with 71 touchdowns and at least 5000 yards and a QBR of around 132. I did something of a first in my many Madden seasons which makes me very happy. I didn't have a single reciever with over 100 catces (Edelman led the team with like 92), and I hit 11 different recievers with at least 20 catches each. With all that out of the way onto the post season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Onto Fallout and my first game I had a lot of trouble finding quests...not this time. Clearing out a lot of the game early. Up to level 12. I found Nick, Cait and I am trying to find the Brotherhood.
With Cait it was funny I walked into the Combat Zone and even though I was reasonably sure it would backfire but the Raiders were marked with friendly so I just didn't feel like opening fire, so I walked in, the manager of the place was all "uh lady I don't know who you are but you should find cover, quick!" sure enough a huge firefight broke out and I was a bad ass. Finding Nick was fun, first time I shot Dillon from down range because he was going to be a bad guy, then I died, reloaded and I just ambushed him by waiting in the door for him.
Finding the railroad as interesting as the quest should be is a bitch and a half and really not sure where to go...and question for everyone...is it possible at all to get your settlements to start producing ammo for you...I just wish they were more self sufficient.

I started a second PT of AC Odyssey, this one as Kassandra. I think I like Alexios a bit better, but she’s very well acted. Anyway, it’s too soon, so I put it aside to play Spider-Man.
Spidey got NG+ and some new trophies last week, and I’ve started a NG+ speed run to get the NG+ and Ultimate difficulty trophies. The first expansion, “The Heist”, releases Tuesday. This speed run has knocked off the rust in preparation for that. Ultimate difficulty is fine. It plays exactly the same as Spectactular, but Spidey is pretty fragile. You can only make a few mistakes in a large battle. It’s been a good way to quickly refresh, but it's also slightly immersion breaking. I always thought it was silly (but necessary) that common street thugs could knock out Spider-Man (if you let them). Now, they hit even harder. I’ve only been knocked out twice, but still... (Once I forgot what I was doing against Shocker and got blasted. Another time I got hung up on debris and got knocked out by a brute.)
I’m looking forward to The Heist. I hope it has some decent length to it, and isn’t padded by filler. The story segments of Spider-Man are excellent, so we need more of that. The check-box lists and other Ubi-like stuff is bleh. We don’t need any more of that.

AC Odyssey Kass hit 50. I got her armor and weapons up to 50. The only thing left to upgrade is the ship. I didn't choose a complete set for armor but mix and match; exactly what she wore all the time except for her arm protectors which I switched to another pair. Finished the Artemis quest line which I chose to fight; I didn't choose to romance the NPC. Given how most quests ended, it's just as well I didn't. AC Odyssey does not have any meaningful relationships so I never bother with the hearts dialogue after the first night stand. After the quest, one of the huntress standing around rudely told Kass to shove off. So much for passing the torch. Kass will continue killing huntresses since they or rather the game failed to acknowledge the result of the quest. Reminds me of ESIV Oblivion where you work your way to the top; the Archmage but everyone still calls you and treats you like dirt under their feet. Killed the gorgon on the second attempt. I was pretty close in the first attempt but made the mistake of rounding a pillar instead of staying behind it; just a bit of hp left (Kass) and she got Kass with her laser beam. I got her with the last arrow. That tiny sliver of hp left to her in the second attempt was so taunting; damn it, die! How many times do I have to run from pillar to pillar? She was porting so fast in the last bit that it was difficult to get a hit on her. Got annoyed with a quest that has a young woman who wanted to be a huntress. She wanted huntress equipment, three items. Some of which are in the main huntress camp. I just freaking came from there during my exploration and wiped out everyone. Didn't pick up the quest. Everything on the map has been opened up so I suppose I can continue with the main story. Pretending to be Rohirrim.

I played the first part of Torment: Tides of Numenera in the last two days and all the time I was trying to figure out what are the reasons for all the criticism.... I haven't find one, yet.

Personally, my main problem is that it's too short. Not that I have an objection to short games, as such, but it feels like the story just gets going and then suddenly it's over.

I cannot judge this element because I am not done yet. The last two days I have completed every quest in Sagus Cliffs and then I left for the Valley of Dead Heroes where I did another couple of quests and then I explored the Necropolis. Now all that's left before entering the First Cast Off Tomb is go through the Endless Gate and deal with the Children. I don't know at what point of the game I'll be after that. What I can say so far is that dialogues, characters, locations and feelings are exactly the ones I was expecting from a game whose purpose is to honor Ps:T:
- tons of dialogue? Checked - a game centered on survival and self-discovery? Checked - the opportunity to talk your way out of almost every combat? Checked
- a world full of cryptic elements? Checked - decaying cities packed with strange creatures from every corner of the universe? Checked (oh and the Denra O'Hur is something I'm not going to forget any soon...)
- kinky companions? Checked - strange abilities and artifacts with unpredictable effects? Checked - having no idea of where are you going and if every decision you make is the most right thing to do or the worst choice ever? Checked

Equal parts sarcasm and bluntness. Overall well meaning and Robin Hood like mercenary. In other gaming news: Global event blackout went live today in The Division. Shock ammo is shockingly fun. I managed to shock myself a good number of times on Lincoln tunnel with extreme blackout. I also ran the Police Academy solo without the global modifiers. So only the mobs were shocked. Timing the overcharged melee kills is somewhat harder. I might try going all pistol on normal with extreme blackout to overcharge. If that can be set up. To see if I can rack up melee kills and get the pistol commendation. I managed one melee kill on Lincoln tunnel but missed (which leads to potentially disastrous self shock) quite a few times.

Haven't tried Alexios at all but I like Kasandra so far. I am playing her as a rogue-ish merc with very loose morals (for today's standards anyway, IMO the game implies morals weren't really much of a thing in ancient Greece yet anyway). She likes money, has no issues with killing people (even she doesn't really have a personal stake), doesn't care at all about which side wins the war and basically gets in bed with everyone who hasn't climbed a tree by the time she gets her hands on them. She only has a soft spot for very few people, including e.g. Phoibe, but it's not many. Overall, I like her in a bit of a twisted fashion. She is what I am calling a "likable psychopath". Certainly a bit weird but not a bad character at all.

I haven't played Alexios so can't comment but I am loving playing as Kassandra, can't think of a better female protagonist that I have played other than female Shep. She's funny, sassy, snarky, speaks her mind and is damn good looking as well.

I think my brain is on lore overload. I've got DA, ME, Witcher, Diablo, LoTR, Forgotten Realms, and who knows what floating around in my head, and I just don't think there's room for anything else.
I'm trying to figure out the races in Kingdoms of Amalur and it's not sticking. I don't see the difference between the Fae and the non-Fae who look the same as the Fae. You know, the grey skin, pointy-ear'd types....this world's version of elves. And why does everyone have Scottish accents? Well, everyone except the PC who is silent and stoic about everything.
Edit: it doesn't help matters that almost every male NPC I've come across is voiced by Cullen's VA. He's everywhere!

Then you have never played Skyrim every guard has the same voice and also the same lines and there are many more other voices that you will hear used by different npc's. For example the voice of Claudia Christian she can be a Jarl in one town and in another town her voice is used by a merchant or some other npc.

High Queen Khalida won the Black Pyramid. Solid walk with less casualties over campaign. Still haven't figured out the magic system fully. I was like "You can do that" when trying out standalone battles. Like "overcast" spells or casting upgraded spells - wtf is overcast supposed to mean? And then I found out how to restore energy pools...

AC Odyssey On the track of the main story now. I ran a search of Cultists locations and found the last few I want are within the main story so I'm not going to waste any more time doing SQs. The MS led Kass finally to her mom. Together they made plans for the future. There's a jump to the present and I guessed what was going to happen because of the events in the MS. It left me a little sad and yet happy. Of the protags through AC 1 to 3, I like Kass the best. In the meantime, Kass is going to get her home back.

melbella Fae got crazy hair the non fae have got sane hair. It's all in the shampoo. Tuatha also have crazy hair, but they shave. But I think it's like the Fae are immortal and the non Fae are not. And the Fae are pure magic and the non are...not? So it would be a bit like in Dragon Age if the old elves had been a separate race from the current ones. So they'd look pretty same-y but the older ones would be fully magical creatures while the new ones would be, well more shem. But in game, the rule seems to be: If they style their hair up in the air, they are probably fae. If the hair is styled down, probably not. Some non-fae use hair bands to raise their hair a bit, but fae seem to rely mostly on magical grease to point it up. Another tell tale is that the Fae often have black sclera. But I don't think any non-fae has that perk. Lore wise and accent wise I have no clue. But a break from the British accent I guess? Now if they'd all be Irish then they'd be on to something. --- Been binge playing House Flipper since biting my tongue hard enough to get Dorn's quest just made me want to wring his neck. So lot of painting, wrenching and vacuuming cockroaches. Also ended up playing bit of Amalur, since I loaded up Vegfari while checking some stuff and I had something good going on there. And then remembered why I stopped playing. Strains my eyes something fierce. Even after adjusting the field of view. But got a bit of playing in, then got mobbed by wolves and lost all the progress. So grand times there.

Yea the concept of Fae and Non-Fae can be a confusing one when you first get introduced into the world. Had trouble with this myself. Just to help clear things up:
Fae The Fae are a collection of magical creatures that inhabit the Faelands. They range from the bothersome Boggarts to the courts of Winter and Summer to the mighty Trolls. The songs of the House of Ballads only incorporate Fae, the most common being the two courts and Trolls. (source)
They are the immortal creatures of the world. Immortal as in they can still die, but their souls don't vanish. They are just reborn (adult form!) into Fae again after a while. It has been like this since the beginning of their birth, so they aren't that concerned with death and time. Why would they be? They will always come back and go on. Oh and they are very static in everything, they don't like change, aside a few. You are a tailor? Then you can be one for the rest of time and they are content with that. They don't feel the need to change/adapt.
Now you can split them in to 2 categories: You have the 'Wild Fae' like trolls, boggerts and a lot of variety of creatures (all able to use magic to some degree). They are just primitive and don't have semblence of a civilization. You can assume they attack anyone that approaches them.
Unlike them, you have the civilised 'Court Fae' who can who can build cities, show complex emotions, follow idea's and pretty much anything that a human, 'elf' or gnome might do. Except the immortality thing. ALSO the most absurd hairstyle and colour schemes, quite enjoyable imo.
Mortal races:
They are the people are mortal, born a baby, be a child, grow up to adults and die of old age, never to return. Well the return part is quite the debate in the game what actually happens. The different races do have a different age rate and some are able to live longer than other. The humans are the short lived ones and elves/gnomes live longer.
Humans, Elves (Ljosalfar/light and Dokkalfar/dark), Gnomes (think of dwarves but less sturdy). Aside the major ones I just mentioned that apppear in the game you have tons of other races described (in the now dissappeared website) world of Amalur.
The mortal races or 'dustlings' (since they turn to dust when given enough time) are spread all over the world. While the Court Fae are pretty much only in the Faelands (don't quote me on that).
I could go on and on the lore of this game but that would scare people away and make things even harder to understand. So I'll stop here. Hope things got more clear this way. If you want things to be cleared up or questions about the game, be sure to ask!

Well, I had my first deadly accident in Project Cars II, with my Mercedes CLK GTR. There is a really fast double turn which when you time it right you can cut and take flat straight through. Really hairy though. On my third lap I just didn't make it, I grazed the inside of the corner -which is the corner of a brick building- with over 290 km/h 180 mph, got airborne and was flung into another brick building with the roof forward. In real life that would have totally and utterly ripped the car and driver into bits. Never had a terrible accident in this game up to this point, in fact I only had a handful of lethal accidents in all driving games I ever played combined, and all were freak accidents.

I am really beginning to dig this playthrough of Fallout 4. It seems to be going so much smoother then the first one and I really have a backlog of quests. Plus I am starting to get more of a resource supply going in terms of bullets and reserve caps. Only took me till nearly level 16 but I believe I have almost made it to being stabilized.
For some notes. I bumped into and 'discovered' the wreck of the Constitution, didn't do the quest yet. Discovered and joined the Railroad. Met Strong. And also killed Kellog. For the Strong quest it was really weird. I ran headlong into a minigun wielding red skull super mutant named Fist, so in the hail of bullets I managed to run away and heal myself up. When I went back around he was gone. I don't know if Nick killed him or what. Going after Kellog is always fun, granted trying to look for him was a bit long and I am a bit dubious if his scene could've lasted for that long either but crawling through all those synths was always fun. I loved the line there thogh with the sarcasm "When I die I want to go to hell simply to kill you all over again you son of a bitch!" Nice. Only real note on Trade craft was I had a scary moment when I ran out of stimpacks before the end. I still had like the last two areas to clear out, drank a nuka cola quantum...which was a waste because everyone was dead.
Finally with the 'cultists' who make you give them all their stuff. I was able to convince them to leave me be...but then I decided to kill them anyway because some other poor sap would've just stumbled across them and I really didn't want that. So they ended up dead.

Been dropping in now and then to Twitch to catch gameplay of latest games, betas, etc.
I'm seeing too much of survival and battle royale games that it's a bore to watch them. They may look different but it's basically the same gameplay; go around all over the game world, collect weapons, mats, craft, build, shoot up / f*** up one another or shoot up zombies or nightmare critters or robots. Right now it's Fallout 76. Doesn't look any different from other mmos I've been seeing nowadays.
Also caught some gameplay of the new Witcher game. Not my cup of tea.

Then you have never played Skyrim every guard has the same voice and also the same lines and there are many more other voices that you will hear used by different npc's. Well, I have, but only for a couple months after it first came out. I didn't get very far and had bigger issues than listening to the guards.
