My Time at Sandrock
Rosa got herself a black horse. Called it Ebony, but might change later. Or try and get a white horse and call it Ivory. Adopted Coco and can now give them head pats . Got a ring for Pen since knowing that he won't accept it is metagaming and seeing the rejection would be interesting. Kinda surprised he says he won’t be tied down “right now” since it hints at maybe later. Or maybe it’s just a ploy to keep the daily smooches coming. Threw my first party on her birthday, Winter 6. Was a bit worried since a big story hooplah was happening soon, but thankfully it was the day after. Had fireworks, music, food, the works. It was about as interesting as the parties in Portia, with the nice addition of the guest wandering around the yard admiring it. There is an option to buy premade food when setting up the party so that's nice. The food is random, but handy if the builder isn't much of a cook. Got her a flute to summon the horse since the story event the day after drags you to the desert in the morning and it’s nicer to traverse back on a horse. Current friend stats are Pen as soulmate, Burgess as BFF, Matilda and Miguel as best friends, Yan, Zeke and Mort as good friends, Nia and Dan-bi as friends. Was planning on adding Trudy as a friend too but Rosa is not vibing with her. Figure they’ll get there as it gets closer to the end. Qi and Heidi are also sneaking into the friendzone because their commissions are lucrative and put out fairly straight forwards so Rosa can’t really say no. Cut her hair short like it was at the start, it just fits her so well.

Triss has her charms, but like you say she is very young compared to Geralt, whereas Yen is much closer to his age (maybe even older...? Not sure, but closer definitely). At the end of the books, Triss would be at least 100, so older than Geralt, who was about 85, and Yennefer 10 to 16 years older than Triss, but no more. Yennefer can't be more than 100 (97ish?), her age is confirmed in possibly Tower of the Shallow (I can't remember), as 94. I also thought Triss was pretty young. She was believed to have been the 14th mage to die during the battle of Sodden Hill, not that there was 14 mages selected to fight. Anyway, book truther moment, Fringilla is best girl!

Finished Elaaden, gave Morda the Drive Core as always and took care of the Architect. Discovered at least playing on Normal that Cryo Ammo is good for fighting the three Fiends as it slows them up mighty fine. I always take the water supply from Annea but I decided to look up what happens if you leave it with her and it is basically nothing. That led me to a discovery on the Wiki that you can actually find Annea after taking the water supply off her and it is at the site I have mentioned that I have stumbled across before that appears to be boring for water. You can actually have a chat with her, wont spoil that but the outcome is inevitable. Anyway found the last ZK trackers and headed to Voeld to rescue Dr. Kennedy and this time sent the baby and her to The Nexus. Returned to The Nexus and got Spender exiled, expect a head on a spike to end up at New Tuchunka at some time as I Sara definitely encouraged Drack. So far for the first time I can remember the Karaoke has absolutely not spawned at any time in The Vortex. Pic's The Flop House is always fun, I expected less enemies on Normal than Insanity or Hardcore but man there were a real lot in the fight at the bridge: This place popped up, cleared it of Scavengers and the best part is watching a Destroyer and a Hydra fight each other. Ryder put them both down before it was resolved. Annea's post water grab location and part of chatting to her Giving Morda the Drive Core and Getting an Outpost

God of War RagnarokThree puzzles in short order and basically the area I was struggling with last night before I went off. And the first two of them were basically solved by random luck and button pressing. First one just randomly threw the Leviathan axe and it bounced off one of the stones just to richochet through the first little hive thing, then bounced off another stone to take the other two. Second one was even more random. A three stone option basically sat before me, one of them suspended by a multi tier switcher which could change its direction. So first I tried the one across from me that looked like it could take out two of the hives, it didn't, then was trying to mess with the switch because even though it was facing away from me I was convinced I could get an angle. Well then even though it was facing at a right angle from the hives I just randomly threw the axe, probably out of frustration, it bounced off it, bounced off the one on the wall to the right, through the hive, then bounced off the one above clearing it. Final hub to clear the trapped animal had to look up. The Lose SanctuarySo Loki went out and met another one who caused me to have an intake of breath out of bitter recognition. Angroborda. Which I know her from ACV I believe she was Loki's mate in Vahalla as well, Fenrir's mom, and given Vahalla's connection to Odyssey also AKA Alethia. I am quite sure I am getting the relationships right but please tell me if I am wrong. So again not knowing the mythology of it but once again something I should look up given the obvious differences in the story. And well a lot happened so this part of the story got a bit long in the tooth given I was expecting a very brief side dream with Loki where he learns his past and it ends up probably being about a two hour experience...you have been warned. Some of this was fairly basic gameplay but some rather amazing story happened here and there to. Biggest revlation of course is that Artreus now knows what Kratos saw in Jotunheim himself. Kratos is 'fated' to die. Now, while I am waiting for the full results of this, he is not so eager to go to war for Ragnarok and is now trying to avoid his fate. He also learns that, according to fate, he is going to be serving Odin at the end of it. Which does dove tail with something I was thinking about during the gameplay of this section. Given the themes this game does seem to be developping and especially the Alfheim arc so far the game is seemingly cautioning and pointing out that sides in a war could be very complicated and there is rarely a clear cut 'good' or 'evil'. With all of this going on making the point where say the Light Elves and Dark Elves may both be dickish but also may have a point it does bring to mind that this game is realllllyyy laying it on thick how crap Odin is and THor is and their lists of crimes and the damage they have done is well known, but what if its more complicated then that? Of course as Loki points out he could just be tricking Odin, he is very good at lying you know *snort*. Here we also learn the fate of the giants. They transferred their souls into pebbles to 'hide' from Odin and also I guess get to Ironwood as well so they could be at peace which I forgot to say all this is happening at Ironwood. Angroborda mentions that her fate is to hand them over to Loki for safe keeping. Which does beg a lot of questions. Like I know fate is apparently a big part of this game and Norse religion (much like Greek) but we now have a fairly good idea that Loki will end up serving Odin...so why entrust your people's last hope to someone you KNOW is going to betray you? And they are also fully safe in Ironwood, right now at least Odin does not know about it and cannot know about it so they are far safer with ANgroborda then they are in Loki's hands...at least for now...fate be damned. From here we actually get the ability to turn into a wolf like with Kratos's rage. And we get a sequence that is some very low level side quest level fetch questing in this fairly meaty main quest where we dove into a sink hole to clean out four nests of critters...to gather paint. The quest really started to drag here. But things were looking up, Angroborda and Loki raced once more in Wolf form and looked like we were about to leave... Then we discovered that Angroborda's grandmother is sucking the souls out of animals to live their experiences. There is some history there, Gryla apparently didn't take the fate of her child or her son in law that well and kind of went insane for it and disdained fate...kind of another theme going on here. What followed was a fairly awesome boss fight where the objective was to smash Gryla's cauldron which she was using on the animals. Oh and this is after we fed a Giant soul to a snake to save the snake. But then since Gryla is also well aware of everyone's fates she really knows how to stick that knife. Taunting Loki over the death of his dad and the whole issue with him serving Odin, and telling Angrborda that she won't be remembered by anyone, not even Loki, who will be too busy mourning dad. ReckoningArtreus gets 'home' but not to the home with Sindri and what not but his first home, which is being over run by the Walking Dead. After defeating them Kratos comes out of the portal and wonders where the hell he's been for the past two days.
Now this creates a problem since Angraborda wants him to keep Ironwood and what he knows a secret. Kratos is not that willing to let the matter drop. So yeah, with everything, two days, wearing different clothes, coming back with a different bow, and at least one marble which bares his mother's name. This bares some explanation.
Before they can get to it though a Valkyrie comes down to start beating on us. It ends up being Freya. Kratos saves her life when Atreus goes all bear mode. ANother grat thematic elements.
Seeing this Freya offers a temporary alliance. She will go looking for the magic that is keeping her trapped in Midgaard in Vanheim.
And off we go now with Freya, Brock, and Mimir. Brock now is in the Atreus mode, with Freya having to transition into a bird since her magic isn't as powerful at breaking Odin's curse as she thought.
This section of the game is mainly about references to the past. Now haven't played the previous GoW games but seen lets plays so I know and Kratos and Freya talk about their mutual pasts. The fate of his former family, Aries's betrayal, what he did as a result, and what happend with his brother Deimos (heh). So he does demonstrate that he does understand her pain in regards to him...and her brother. Which we do not know what he did to get her so pissed at him...
But as expected we do meet him as he has become the head of the anti Odin resistance. From here curiously though both Mimir and Brock elect to stay, him to catch up with a female Dwarf which vageuly reminds me of Bianca...and Mimir to give advice to Freyr. Did forget to mention to Bear McCreary always did love his music as being one of my top three favorite composers. And it really started to come out in both these last two sections and of course the main theme.

Started Act 3 in Diablo yesterday and did the first few main story quests. So far it's basically a whole lot of chasing and finding dead and/or demonized (or both) folks left in Lilith's wake. Being able to see her via visions of the past isn't helping to get one step ahead of her. And with Inarius pouting in his cathedral there's not much help to be had there in stopping her. Dangit, where's that Tyriel got to anyway? He may have muffed things up more than not, but at least he tried to do the right thing.

Yennefer can't be more than 100 (97ish?), her age is confirmed in possibly Tower of the Shallow (I can't remember), as 94. I can't remember it giving her actual age, but when I read The Tower of Swallows, it was a fan made translation, as there was no official English translation at that time. But I've just finished another Dragon Age Origins play through, so I think I'll read the book again before starting something new. She was believed to have been the 14th mage to die during the battle of Sodden Hill, not that there was 14 mages selected to fight. Of course. Brain fade due to my age. But she was one of the few Dijkstra trusted to go against Vilgefortz in his Thanedd Isle coup attempt. So she was clearly seen as a senior mage, even if she had played no part in politics up until that time.

When I started this playthrough of Persona 5 Royal, my plan was to not get too worried about the time management stuff, and it was going great until I was about halfway through the game and I had made what felt like little progress with confidants. Haha. If you don't rank up them confidants you won't unlock the corresponding persona. So that was my focus for a while, the thing I find is that when you are trying to be as efficient as possible, a lot of the time you just miss out on actually hanging out with your friends. So to rectify this, Ryuji and Joker went to a merch shop to hangout, Ryuji gave Joker some "power ranger" figures, and when I was prompted to give a gift back, I didn't have anything that seemed like it would be up Ryuji's alley, so I gave him either flowers or a flower vase, I can't remember which. But I was hoping for some sort of gag gift response, at least something better than the standard, "gee thanks", that usually accompanies poorly received gifts. Instead Ryuji happily accepted the gift, it caught me off guard, I was laughing pretty good.

olnortonI thought it was you who told me that Geralt loved Yenn before the wish. He's the one, guided by that emotion, wishing that their fates would be forever intertwined. Yenn then doubts the emotions she has back towards him are real, and it delays their love by many years. This seems to be supported by the TV show as well Okay, so Triss thinks Yenn is dead. It's still absurd that she can find time to fuck him multiple times but never actually fill him in about a huge part of his life. The fact that she omits the existence of Yenn says to me she wanted to hide it. If Yenn is dead, she truly believes it, then there no harm to her chances of being in his pants to say, "you used to absolutely adore a powerful sorceress named Yenn. These were you adventures. I miss her too " and then proceed with the fucking, more or less. She thought the knowledge would cock block her, so she withheld. And that's insecurity and dishonesty that makes me dislike her.

Yenn then doubts the emotions she has back towards him are real, and it delays their love by many years. This seems to be supported by the TV show as well If I remember that episode right, I suppose its not too far off. Geralt and Yen first met in the short story, the Last Wish. Geralt was definitely smitten by her (love at first sight?), Geralt's last wish in the moment was more about just saving her life though. Unlike in the show, Yennefer is fully aware of this, and the two begin there love affair. Geralt's last wish isn't really brought up again, the romantic struggles between the two are more the result of how broken they are as individuals, not until the introduction of Ciri to the dynamic are they able to move past there demons. Last Wish spoilers So Yen believing that Dandelion had the wishes, and that he has used all three up, tries to enslave the Djinn. As we know it is Geralt who actually has the wishes and he's only made two of them. A nearby town was taking heavy damage from the Djinn resisting, Geralt's last wish was a means to both save the town, but also to keep the Djinn from immediately murdering Yennefer right after in retribution.
"I don't know if there's such a Force in Nature that could fulfill such a wish. But if there is, you've condemned yourself. Condemned yourself to me."
Yen response to Geralt. Also, a glimpse into Yen's state of mind.

My memory of the books is vague at the best but in the game TW2 Triss is really open about the fact that she doesn't want to exploit Geralts Memory loss because of what he had with Yenn unless I am completely mis-remembering it.

Got two weeks to kill until BG3 so I did the wrong thing and started building another FO4 settlement that I probably won't finish until then...
Which resulted in going to bed an hour late because I HAD to finish the wooden mansion I was working on. Took me 4h, omg...
Woke up in the middle of the night all excited about it so I got restless even though I was dead tired. Eventually fell asleep again, then when I woke up this morning after vivid dreams of my uncle tiling my bathroom while a bunch of annoying college kids crowed my apartment, and then soaking in a pool topless with my best friend's grandma, also topless (wtf), my eyes were so heavy it felt like my face was partially paralyzed, lol.
I should not be allowed to touch FO4 on a work day. >_<

Geralt only met Yennefer the day before his 3rd wish. Yennefer cast a spell on him which forced him to attack the Bergmeister who had insulted Yenn. That landed Geralt in jail and he could have been beaten to death was it not for his 2nd wish. If Geralt felt anything for Yennefer when he made his 3rd wish to keep the Djinn from killing her, it was pity. I've never watched the TV series, so I can't comment on those. I will re-read the Last Wish after I finish The Tower of Swallows, but I'm only on chapter 4.

I know FC24 doesn't come out till the end of September but I'm kind of biding my time in case I'm asked to Beta test again like last year. I'm not saying I'm going to because I won't know until earl yAugust. So I'm just killing time playing career mode and playing with the women's teams. Unlike last year though I have volunteered for it but it's just a case as to whether I get selected. It's more I don't want to create a simila rproblem to last yea rwhere I'm abou tto start playing something and then get pulled awa yfor something else like when I was about t oplay Spidreman Remastered and got invited to tes tFifa 23. I don't think I'd mind i tso muc hwit hmy comfortgames as I can pretty much pick up and resume from jus tabout anywhere on them I think. Which is the main reason why I'm stickin gwit hm ycomfort games atm. I'm just most in the mood for Fifa which is why I'm prioritizing that. But I coul dsee myself comin gback and playing one of my others if I want a break from Fifa. I probably will step awa yfrom Fifa befoer FC 24 comes out anywa yfor a bit to recharge and pla ysomething else it's just a matter of when and what really. It'll mos tlikel ybe things I've got on the go though such a sfinishing my ME3 playthrough or something.

I made it to Chapter 9 in The Tower of Swallows. Yennefer has only had a couple of mentions so far. One I found interesting. Esterad Thyssen told Dijkstra that Yennefer wasn't a traitor, and the he could show Dijkstra the proof if he wanted it. Dijkstra said he didn't want it at the moment. It was more convenient for him that she was a traitor.

I'm now about half-way through Path of Fire, as I just finished The Departed quest which is about mid-way (a bit more I think). Then I took a tiny break because the Festival of the Four Winds is here. So I went to check the new skins and stuff. I don't participate much in festivals, even if this one comes with a pretty zone only available during the festival.
I'm also getting a bit distracted. I was looking at some currency I had and then saw that I could get the missing auric weapon skin using Seal of Tyria. Those skins are part of a collection and finishing that collection was the last step in another collection that reward an ascended backpack (that is stat selectable). Wouhou! I also have another collection that reward an ascended backpack that is only missing one thing, but the missing thing is on the last map of Path of Fire so it's going to wait a bit. Back to my Necro Kitty I shifted to a semi-minion build now. Lower damage, but a lot more defensive so I don't have to avoid damage as much so less movement needed. My hand/wrist is really starting to hate me. 2.5 weeks before I switch to a turn-based mouse and click game where that doesn't matter...

I am still plying Skyrim. Did the Winterhold college questline. I realized I never did that before because on my first playthrough I played a Nord who was generally opposed to magic. It was a fun questline, though a little short, when compared to the mage faction questlines in Morrowind or Oblivion. Was really sad that Mirabelle didn't make it. She was probably my favorite NPC in the game so far. Now I am doing the companions because I am already a Werewolf from doing Hircine's Daedra quest and I want that cured before starting the Dawnguard DLC quest (I am afraid to show up at the Dawnguard castle, what if they find out about my Lycanthropy ). I am level 54 now but there are certainly still enemies around that are quite tough (which I like). I guess one reason is that I am wearing light armor at the moment, just to get it up to 100 (I already have heavy armor at 100 and spent all my perks there). So I am a bit squishy at the moment. Once light armor is up, I'll switch back to my suit of insulated dragon bone armor and I'm gonna be a tank. Since I am playing a Paladin character (one handed sword in one hand, destruction/restoration spells in the other), I also couldn't block but I found a mod on the weekend with which I can bind a dedicated button to blocking and then block with my 1H weapon. Very nice! I found myself a not so dangerous bandit marauder and practiced blocking with him for 10 minutes, getting my skill up to 60 before I finally killed him. Good man! And man, it takes forever to actually get some of these magic skills up to 100. I am using destruction and restoration skills almost non-stop for my 150 hours of play time now and they are still only at around 80. It's good that progression takes a while and I still have plenty to do (haven't even been to Markarth or Solitude yet or met with Delphine for the main quest) but boy, it does take time. Sorry, no more screenshots for now. I think I covered most of the environments already, so there wasn't much of a point. Still having lot's of fun though. What a great game!

Mafia Definitive Edition. Played the original like 4 years ago. Been curious to try the remake, but never got down to it until today. Looks amazing. Tommy got a massive glow up. The city looks lovely and the mini map is quite handy. Tommy can take cover, which is the most beautiful thing ever.
Had forgotten the opening at the coffee shop, but did remember the bit with the taxi. The chase is a bit more anti-climatic, since there are these cool road blocks you can use to lose the pursuing cars, except he goes through them in a cutscene and it breaks up the action. Sure I would get the car stuck in the road blocks, but still. Let me drive damn it.
Forgot the molotoving of the cars, but did remember the visit out in the country. Thankfully the dogs were gone. As Tommy said, who shoots a dog. You did in the past game. It was brutal. But this was so much less painful, what with him being able to take cover and actually hit the broadside of a barn when shooting.
The racing section is still a massive pain. Ended up going easy on this one too because it’s so freaking awful. Was fun seeing the car fly and flip through the air though.
Sarah’s section was so much better in this one. Dialog has been changed so they actually know each other and that the dad was aware that they were crushing on each other and semi gave the blessing. And you just see them cuddle at the end, which is sweet. Also digging the little extra scenes between them.
So all in all been enjoying myself. The little changes and added details to the characters is nice, being able to take cover is amazing and the game looks lovely. Been kinda rushing through the missions, so probably missing out on some little details, but still it's very neat.

Just finished playing Hi-Fi Rush it's a surprisingly a very fun game. It was pretty fresh to have a lighthearted and fun story for a change compared to the dark and dramatic single player stories that's been pushed out lately. Microsoft could build off this and have more colorful and cartoonish games to contrast with the more serious games Playstation releases. It can give the customers options while also giving Microsoft a unique edge.

Well I finished The Tower of Swallows, and Blast Processor is right. Yennefer was 94 at the time of the Thanadd Ilse Coup.
So I'm reading The Last Wish, paying particular interest in any dates, ages, or clues to ages, and straight away I read something hinting a Geralts age. The Last Wish starts with Geralt removing the curse from Princess Adda. Adda wounds his neck badly in the fight, and he goes to Nenekke of Ellander for treatment, as usual. Nenekke is a Priestess and not a mage and is likely in her 70's at the most, given how strong and active she is, probably younger. She says to Geralt, I've known you since you were a youngster. When we met you only came up to my waist. So Geralt can't be in his 80's, I'm not sure why I thought he was. The Tower of Swallows only gives you 4 concrete ages. Yennefer, Ciri, Dijkstra, and Esterad Thyssen's. Now I have to read the whole series again. It's not such a chore, they are a great read.
