Just finished playing Hi-Fi Rush it's a surprisingly a very fun game. It was pretty fresh to have a lighthearted and fun story for a change compared to the dark and dramatic single player stories that's been pushed out lately. Microsoft could build off this and have more colorful and cartoonish games to contrast with the more serious games Playstation releases. It can give the customers options while also giving Microsoft a unique edge. Yeah I heard it did quite well for Microsof tdespite i tbeing a download onl ygame. Not sure if it' sfor me though as I don't really do rythm games or many cartoon style games either for that matter. Still bus ywit hFifa atm thinkin gI might play one of the older ones in Fifa 17 and get my career thereup and running. I played and won m ypreseason tournament but haven't started the season proper on tha tyet. So I'm thinkin gof doing that as I'm getting a littl etired of listening to Derek Rae. I may come back later t ocontinue wit hmy women's saves and maybe start season 3 at Gothenberg after only jus thanging onto my job after failing most of my objectives last season. I coul dsee myself stepping awa yfrom Fifa to pla yone o r2 of my othe rgames soon as I'm startin gt ofeel like I'm running out of steam and needing to play something else. If I do it'll likely be a short one as I wantto stay primed and read yt oBeta test if I'm asked.

God of War RagnarokI continue to be impressed with what this game has to offer. The ReckoningContinuing on our adventures with Freya and right now we basically have the dreaded counter point to all the recent quests with Kratos and Atreus, that nuance that actually is neccessary for a philosophical conversation to happen and something that I have kind of held my neck out for in one way but it is both obvious that it happened yet also surprising in its own way. The first game certainly had its moments...buuuut. Kratos and Freya being in the same room together actually really ended up benefitting things as they kind of had a talk about things. Trying to remember it all for accuracy sake but Kratos was essentially asking her to tone it down and to let go of everything and mentioning how much he knew the horrors of war...kind of continuing on from last time. But Freya was like 'how can we just let all this pain go, after everything I have suffered' And then a very good point on 'war is horrible but there are some things that are worse'. Of course she is right but the trick then becomes knowing when this is one of those times. And based on an accidental spoiler I have theories on where some of this is going. Then the real line hit when Freya asked Kratos to kill things for her and Kratos was like 'do not ask me to do that, I will be no one's monster again!' Very much into self defense Kratos has been, in a weird way, kind of Witchery in his way I suppose. Which does push things though because Odin laid a little bit of a trap apparently. The magic binding keeping her to Midgard was placed in her home, at least in that realm, and was a knotted branch of Ydrasil. Trying to undo said knot ended up summoning Nidhog the guardian that we had heard about earlier. Bit of an impressive boss fight, but end result that Freya is free...for now? Maybe a little confused on some of this and will need to see how this develops. But back to Freyr's base and...again not exactly sure what the deal was...but they did make up. From what I gather though I think she was pissed that he abandoned her to Odin and maybe the Midgard thing and meanwhile Freyr thought he was dead? Again not entirely clear either I missed something or more will happen or will have to look it up. There is a looottt to upgrade in this game meanwhile. Though kind of surprised still fairly early and I think I have gotten the upgrades for my axe and the chaos blades. Still have to apply them but according to the game progress bit I am still basically a third through so...we'll see. Final Fantasy 7 (remake)This is obviously my 'lets experiment and see what's going on' game. But not in quite the same way that I was expecting. See I knew that this game was a turn based game from trying to play it or watch a friend play it even in my pre teen years...well at least the series. So imagine my surprise where they have gone almost full real time on the combat and a very 'ARPG' vibe to the whole thing with your typical...well ARPG mechanics to be simple. To my surprise this even extended to the 'command' menu. At first glance this seemed to look like the 'item wheel' in many RPGs where you could select abilities and/ or items to use...but low and behold even that had just a slight time dialotion because the attacks did move. The RP elements are...lacking to say the least. Definitley a stat and gear based RPG rather then a 'choose your dialogue RPG.' And other then that just learning mechanics. Levelling. Materia. The summoning. Abilities. Spells. Learning about the whole assess thing. And well just got the summoning in the last mission I ran which was quite the famous bit I do remember from the game. Other then that this game is utterly insane. Like bonkers. First off what a tonal whiplash from the last game at least so far. God of War, Kratos not wanting to get involved and that is kind of Cloud to...but the group he has attached to, called Avalanche, is essentially a bunch of Eco Terrorists who are diving head first into their eco terrorism and after their initial first mission ended up blowing up more that they intended to and the leader of the group is just like *shrug* 'shit happens'. So yeah these people are psychotic. And Jessie is the head of the psychotic brigade given how very forcefully she is being in flirting with Cloud...psych! I am kind of curious where this is going though because these people are kind of unlikeable, though Cloud is neat, and Tifa, other then that...but there is something more going on with images of Sephiroth and shadow people dancing in the streets. Oh and I almost forgot Gideon Emery is in this to! And well just as I was starting to do this log my wife actually did show a side by side comparison and it did confirm a lot. Original FF VII had turn based combat, much worse graphics (lol), and curiously no voice acting at all. WHich I haven't seen Gideon Emery in a while I kind of half assumed he was a part of it from the beginning and they got him back. But nope. Few other familiar voices in here, including Wedge voiced by the guy who voiced Jessie's fat friend in Breaking Bad...which does make it funny that there is a Jessie in this game.

GW2I played a tiny bit on my Necro Kitty. I did the story stuff in Desolation (pretty easy and fast, there is a single mission and almost no fighting). Then entered the last map (Vabbi) and I went to do the thing I mentioned to finish a collection. The "thing" is actually killing a Champion bounty. I decided to solo it. I once stumbled on it and almost soloed it with a Necro but the timer ran out so I knew it was feasible. Anyway, I started it solo, but two other players showed up which speeded up the process. I never went down 80% HP, despite walking right into all the damaging things (only happened because my blo0d minion died. it's the heal skill). Condi Necro might be a bit OP, especially with so many trash around. And turns out I was wrong. It wasn't one collection with an ascended backpack I was completing. It was TWO! This is great, if one day I need something different than celestial, marauder and whatever is my other ascended backpack. I got 3 in my bank now that can have their stats selected.

Very little playing time yesterday due to the STUPID EA APP servers being down and the day before just having little time to play. Cleaned up a few things like tracking down Ljeta to Aya and talking to her, went to Kadara then Elaaden to get POC and forgot to visit Rorik. Visited Ark Natanus with Avi, convinced him to become the Turian Pathfinder. Did PB's LM and let Kalinda live. Headed down to H-047c cleared out the domes to get the code and then the main base. Parked at the Remnant Tiller. Pic's Negotiating for POC PB Keeping Ryder on her toes Kalinda getting saved and beaten to the punch Ark Natanus not looking so good Ark Nataunus looking slightly better from H-047c

Well I finished The Last Wish, and I know now why Geralt felt he had to save Yennefer, in spite of what she had done to him. He felt she would be killed because of a lie he told to her. Yennefer thought it was Dandelion who had the 3 wishes. She asked for the seal that Dandelion had. Geralt of course had it, but he didn't trust her and told her he wasn't sure if Dandelion still had it. She cast the spell on Geralt that made him beat up those she had a grudge against, landing him in jail, after he collapsed when the spell wore off. Yennefer had set a trap for the djinn for when Dandelion had made his 3rd wish and the djinn tried to return to it's own plane in a weakened state. She told Dandelion to make his 3rd wish, that they find Geralt innocent of what she had made him do. The priest explained to them what Yennefer was trying to do, it was only then that Geralt realized the djinn had been carrying out his wishes. Geralt had the priest reopen the portal Yennefer had sent Dandelion through, not to ask for a wish, but to warn her that she would not be able to defeat the djinn. Before he could explain why, she attacked him. She didn't believe he would try to help her after what she had done to him, and covered him in a burning spiders web. They fought and when she was weakened, he told her the truth, and that she needed to flee. You underestimate my power witcher, I have the djinn, and I have you. Make your wish. It might grant my wish, but it will kill you. Your too weak, you can barely stand. Then suddenly he knew the truth, he knew what she used to be, what she remembered, what she couldn't forget, what she lived with. What she was before she was a sorceress. Her cold, penetrating, angry and wise eyes, were the eyes of a hunchback. He was horrified, no, not of the truth, but that she might read his thoughts and find out what he had guessed.
The ceiling cracked open, the djinn entangled in a net of fading rays, tumbled right on top of them and roared, and in that roar was triumph and murder lust. Yennefer rushed to meet him and light beamed from her hands, very feeble light. The djinn opened his mouth and stretched his paws towards her. Geralt made his wish.

Yes, while we should be going after the kidnapped friend we still decide to continue partaking in side quests and collecting items. Key thing is that the Rancor we found was federated and the use of the Crossguard Lightsaber was key here:

God of War RagnarokThis game is actually very on rails and has huge bits of very on rails story. Even when you know its coming it is kind of an issue of almost wanting to go do x,y,z because you've been waiting to go do it. Of course this means could finally be getting to a bit of a side quest athon after I get done with the current thing and get back to controlling Kratos. The next thing here is I learned that indeed the axe and blades do have more upgrades, about nine of them. Still remains to be seen if they have any abilities beyond this. And Bear McCreary once again is just playing his musical heart out. Especially when we get to {redacted] The ReckoningJust more wrap up here. Investigating around Freyr's camp and meeting some of the rebels. Couldn't talk to Freyer but there was a Dark Elf/ Light Elf rebel prison escapee couple. The Light Elf had some interesting things to say about 'the Light.' Makes it seem like a drug.
Biggest thing here that Freya is now a part of the party and you get to...customise her look and do a whole bunch of more upgrading for her. Brock also gives her bow the upgrades she needs to do both the sigil arrows and sonic arrows.
So yes, for the moment, they have bigger enemies to fight. The RunawayThis quest started off rough. A reminder of things in the past, and current events to and just how easy it is to get mixed up into anger and not say things that probably should be said and not getting the time to think to say the right things because someone who is an authority figure in your life is breathing down your neck and is very angry.
So long story short here Kratos comes home, demands to know where Atreus had been, Freya had been suspecting he went off to Asgard, he denies THAT but also says that it might not be a bad idea to go and see what Odin has to say for himself. Which just gets everyone upset and Mimir even drops some very hard but belligerent truth bombs on Atreus about how Odin had basically got everyone to suffer in that room, beheaidng people, ruining lives, that sort of thing. Atreus is not having it, reacts sarcasm to Kratos's prodding...he turns bear...he slashes Sindri aside...and then runs to the portal with Kratos in pursuit...and then ends up in Midgard and eventually in Freya's old house from the first game.
And well the big thing from there is that he does indeed decide to go to Asgard. Hugin shows up (thank you ACV) and well...he goes to Asgard to train. And thing I didn't know is apparently Asgard is divided by a giant wall between the Aesir areas and the non Aesir areas. Artreus throughout this entire time is basically trying to talk about himself and how he is going to convince Odin he means well.
From here kind of reminds me what Androborda said, about avoiding fate. Because its the perfect damned if you do damned if you don't. Loki feels he has to go off to Asgard in order to save Kratos (credit to him on that one) and yet he is also setting in motion the events he saw in the prophecy and Daddy boy is also going to want to go save him when/ if he finds out. This honestly feels like the beginning of Act 2.
Anyways though getting to the top of the wall he meets Heimdall the dick, not the Idris Elba. But he was saying a lot of things that reminded me of the other famed trickster god that we will be dealing with soon. How he looks into his heart and he sees Asgard burning. Fun. Also lots of things about lying to get his way.

Pros of having a week vacation in Greece 🇬🇷 - amazing beaches, lots of "malakas" being shouted around 😎
Cons - killer heat and my laptop can't play AC Odyssey anyway 🤣
So I have been doing some Monkey Island (nostalgia) and Baldur's Gate 1 (to get ready for BG3).
I forgot how much I love and hate Viconia.
I keep trying to have a different party than my usual, but it feels so off without the two dynamic duos (you know who I mean). Slumming it with people I barely used before...and hating it. I even pondered on leaving some of them petrified. Just to have an excuse to use the old guard 😆

I guess I was wrong (again), The Departed is more 3/4 into Path of Fire than half-way its story. Because I'm done with Path of Fire. I defeated the Big Bad and got a big victory celebration where I had to give a speech. And now I can start the best part of the story: LS 4. Because there is always trouble on Tyria. Always.

Played a little bit of Fifa and a little bit of Midnight Suns as I was starting to feel like I was losing a little bit of Fifa steam. I still plan t og oback but felt an urge to move my Midnight Suns playthrough on a bit. I managed t opick up Deadpool and plan t oprobably pic kup Morbius in a little while on one of my next missions. Need to move the story on to the point after I meet Wolverine before I can pick up Storm though so it's likely I won't pick her up yet.
Right now I'm thinking I'll break away from Fifa until EA at least reveal the career mode vid next week for FC 24 then maybe go in preorder that and get some more playtime in then I'm just taking a brief rest over the weekend to play some of my other games on the go.

That's the main reason why I'm glad I'm in the UK right now we seem to be avoiding the heatwaves. I hate hot weather I hate hot weather too and this from someone of Cuban/Puerto Rican descent. So you think I would enjoy the heat. But no I was born and raised in NY and I enjoy the spring, autumn, and winter weathers. Right now is summer time in the US, and so far in the north east coast it has not been oppressively hot. But every summer there is at least one or two heat waves. The real killer though is the high humidity coupled with the heat.

So did the Archon's ship after completing Vetra's LM and staring the Remnant Tiller. The last two times I have played The Progenitor has bugged and for at least 20 seconds just stood there and let me shoot its Turrets off and then I cheesed it with a Cobra. Playing on Normal is actually a bit boring but it makes the game go faster, Vetra's LM was over in no time and chose to be tough on Vetra and Sid this time around. Archon's ship is always fun, liked Reika arriving to save the day when PB and Cora and I had already cleaned up everything. Was going to let Reika live but went with the squads worries about the Krogan being "Exalted" so I didn't have to deal with Drack's BS. Headed to Eos to lock in Cora's romance but it didn't work even though all the flirting and hugging had been done as I had already locked in PB's romance and I had the Poly Mod in the wrong order. Four attempts later got it to work, headed back to The Tempest and locked in Suvi's romance as well. Hopefully Avelja's will work. Have to redo Liam's soccer game and go visit Gil on Eos then to The Nexus to see Keri and to Aya to chat to some old Angara. Pic's

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

Ok, I know we were supposed to do something but I prefer to keep exploring and also, let's go and climb a mountain that is said to be a deadly trap filled with Imperial soldiers. The boss in that place is horrible and a monster:

God of War RagnarokDammit the combat in this game continues to impress and delight. At least the Atreus bits of it with the bow play. Really hoping DA:D can imitate this stuff. Maybe its like not that possible (though he is a 'god') but Atreus added, or I figured out how, to do sort of dodging while firing the bow at the same time. Backwards dodging but also side to side dodging where he leaps to one side or the other and starts throwing arrows. Haven't practiced/ used it yet but also unlocked an ability where hitting 'R1' just after a parry has Atreus fire an arrow at point blank range. The RunawayInteresting thing to start off with. Heimdall had no intention of basically just letting Atreus walking into see the All Father, so he sicks abunch of those Asgardian soldiers on Atreus and basically taunts him. Then he gets involved in it and...had a conversation on scripted fights and stuff in the Schmooples thread but this is interesting because, well, Atreus couldn't land a hit at all...so that bodes well and is one of the problems with that whole thing.
Of course Odin then shows up and is all like 'dude he's my guest...you think I don't expect him to betray me?' Which does serve as a nice point since Heimdall basically forgot his own lesson and that Odin's power does not need to really to project his power.
And well now this game feels like its continuing to pay off all the work its done early on. Because Odin at least is affable as all hell, funny, charasmatic, and also is playing Atreus rather perfectly given that, well later, he expresses a lot of the same desires as him. Though ultimatley these people probably are the antagonists of the piece and this does come out in two significant ways 1. Odin while being nice to Atreus is kind of a dick to all the other Aesir, especially Thor, definitley some family tension there which does not speak too well to the ultimate character and 2. Everyone else is quite mean to Atreus and well, kind of understandable...but still Sif and Thor really hate Atreus. Though their daughter seems to have a crush (Innntttteerrressting)
From there we get the big hook of the piece. Odin seems to have found a tear in the space time continiuum which he thinks will lead to ultimate knowledge about everything and how to avoid fate. He had quite the speech about it 'who do the gods look to to answers?' more of that nuance stuff. But yeah apparently there is this mask thing (which my wife informs me that the movie the Mask had the 'Mask of Loki' so that's interesting.), and well Odin does dangle the fate of his father in front of him that with this ultimate knowledge he will be able to change his fate. No Ragnarok. No father dying.
Into the FireSo Odin decides to send Thor and Atreus off to find the next piece of the mask...which takes them to Musphelheim.
Big take away here other then the search itself and the cool combat is that Loki does the most Loki like thing he has done this entire game. He needles Thor into getting him to go do the trials that him and Kratos did the first time and uses this as an excuse to go investigate on his own. Thor falls for it.
And surprise he bumps into Angroborda again, who is 'defying her fate' by continuing to get involved and looking for the rest of the giants' marbls...her next stop is apparently Sutr. Doesen't find it but we get another one of those excellent cabinet scenes where we get more of a preview on Ragnarok and Sutr joining with...Sinmatra? To create giant Sutr to destroy Asgard.
So yeah. Just really cool running into Andra again but she was all like 'I don't want to be around when Thor gets here' And Thor well is a dick and despite bonding with Loki still threatens to kill him at the end. So that's fun.

Yesterday, I continued my journey with my paladin in Skyrim. Finished the Companions questline and cured myself of lycanthropy. With a pure heart once more, I now joined the Dawnguard (had never played the DLC before). Unwittingly freed a very old vampire lady, rejected the offer of her father to become a vampire lord myself and now I am recruiting people for the Dawnguard in order to hunt that menace down. This quest will finally bring me to the western part of Skyrim, which I haven't explored yet at all. I'll take this opportunity to look around a bit and finally explore Markarth and its surroundings. But here is the cool bit: I still felt like playing Skyrim but not Thoralyon, my noble and faithful Redguard paladin character. Instead, I really wanted to do little bit of sneaky thief gameplay. So I started a new Character, a female Bosmer (woodelf) called Nox, who doesn't give a shit about dragons, the empire or the Stormcloaks, the Jarls and their troubles or any of that stuff. She is just some poor street kid, whom the winds of fate swept to Skyrim. Now, thanks to the alternative starting mod, I had her start the game by escaping from an abandoned prison, where she was locked up (probably for some crime or another in her past). In my head canon, she and my paladin character are actually two parallel stories playing out in the same world. While Thoralyon, the paladin was in Helgen, is following the path of the Dragonborn, fighting dragons, becoming Thane of every hold in Skyrim, building huge manor houses and generally amassing a lot of fame and glory, Nox the thief doesn't care about any of that and rather makes her way to Riften to join the thieves guild and eventually the dark brotherhood. This works really well because the way the alternative start mod is set up, people do talk about rumors of dragon attacks and that there was some catastrophe in Helgen but as long as you don't go there, it just stays with the rumors. And as long as you just don't go to the Jarls (I mean, why would a lowly thief go into their houses other than to steal stuff anyway) and just don't do the same quests, you can pretty much imagine those two characters inhabiting the same world. I mean, sure, there is some overlap but it works to about 90%, which I think is quite cool. Now I can switch between those two characters at will, depending on what playstyle I want, the hero who charges in with sword and magic or the stealthy murdering thief and it's basically the "same playthrough".

GW2I made it to Istan (so like 2 missions and one was just talking/doing a Heart) and that's all for today because wrist isn't hand/happy with me. Which is too bad, I'm in the most Necromancy part of the game. Undeads everywhere, sorry Awakened. Long dead city. Long dead city full of undeads/Awakened.

I liked Dawnguard and Serana became one of my favourite companions. All your PT talk is making me tempted to play it again, I especially like the sound of the alternative start Mod. Mmmmm something to ponder. AnDromedary It's been ages since i played am I better off installing MODS first before downloading the game or after? Is NMM the best place to get the MODS from?

Honkai: Star Rail - Basically playing with the endgame. Starting to max out units (in particular a free character Dan Heng, I have max gacha dupes already and I've maxed his levels/traces(talent points)). I have some of the new 1.2 patch story to catch up on this weekend if I can. I've reached an account level where every difficulty unlocks, as well as rewards, so its all about clearing stuff and grinding. I don't anticipate myself caring much about gear (called relics) grind any time soon, but I'll otherwise have a very strong account that can handle almost anything. I'm still in. Unlike Genshin Impact, where I'm feeling increasingly burned by a lack of QOL, and lack of grind nerfing. You still have to say, fight early world bosses dozens and dozens of times to get all the drops you need for upgrading particular tied characters. Just dumb stuff, come on, we're almost 3 years in now. I'll try to drag myself to do the summer temporary map event, because its so big and pretty, but I guess I'm lapsing my sub and battle pass this patch, and they may not return for 4.0 Fontaine unless an upcoming livestream surprises me with its details (not content, but QOL). Otherwise my focus lately has been FFIX (w/Moguri Mod). Cleared Ice Cavern, Dali, and Lindblum, so I'd like to at least reach Burmecia this weekend. I won't suppose for more, since I'm definitely gunning for a full(ish) achievement run, and that takes guides. I've had to let Vivi win the hunter contest in Lindblum for example, then reload to get the reward/story I actually wanted. And guides will have me hang out in content much longer than otherwise; right now for Quina frog catching, eating monsters, and Chocobo stuff. HSR spoiler music video:

Been playing some more Midnight Suns haven't got round to picking up Storm yet but I'm getting there as I did deal with Faustus today and I think m ynex tmission is when I run into Wolverine for the first time. I'm hoping I can at least get through Act 1 before I return to Fifa but I won't hold myself to that. I have now locked myself int obeing a Dark Hunter now though s onow it's just a case of levelling that side of my Hunter up and getting the kind of cards I want to use. Must admit htough hearing it again Ghost Rider has an evil sounding laugh
