dazk I feel exactly the same way you do about Andromeda. My biggest gripe with the game is all of the loose ends left untied. Like who was the mysterious Benefactor? Who killed the founder of the Andromeda Initiative? What happened to the Quarian Ark? I wish that BioWare had ignored all of the haters and continued with their plans for Andromeda. Agree, you can find out what happened to The Quarian Ark by reading the book: Mass Effect Andromeda: Annihilation There are two other books before that if you didn't know: Nexus Uprising (you get more information on Sloane and the Uprising amongst other stuff) and Initiation (details on Cora's Pathfinder training amongst other stuff including more info. on Alec) then comes Annihilation Oh yeah if I remember correctly that book about the Quarian Ark was supposed to be a dlc before further development was canceled? The other two books sound interesting as well. I'll check amazon.com for the books. Thanks for the reply.

You have to do a clean install of Skyrim before installing any mods. I recommend using Mod Organizer 2 (MO2). It allows you to install mods into profiles, separate from the game itself, so you can create different profiles and test out mod combinations without actually changing the game. The only mods you need in the game folder structure itself are basic things like the script extender or ENB. Everything else is going into the MO2 profile. It's really neat. I recommend following this guide, at least until Step 4, when they start actually installing mods. But all the system setup they explain there is good for any build, even if you don't want to use their mod list. Hope that helps. WOW daunted much after looking at the guide. So discovered straight off I had installed old Skyrim so uninstalled that and installed SE but am confused as to whether Ineed to purchase the anniversay addition or does clicking on the "Anniversary Upgrade - AU" link do that? So have gotten to the part about XLODGen and am confused as to what to do. I am not sure what I am supposed to download as there are so many options when i click on the link? Is it this one: Well, you can follow that guide to the letter if you want. That's what I did and it worked perfectly (put some other mods on top of that as well, no problems so far).
But the point is, you don't have to. I am just recommending you to use their basic system setup guide and the general guide on how to set up mods. Which ones you use in the end is up to you. For example, the LOD stuff with xLODGen is the very last thing to do. It is mocuyh more clear if you just do the guide one step after the other and keep going with it if you want to use that. Otherwise, don't worry too much about it.
I'm happy to help out/discuss more about the topic but we should probably move that to the Skyrim thread in the Bethesda section then, to keep this topic clean. If you like, post there and tag me.

I could have sworn I read that theory in the MEA forums? Yeah it was people clinging to the hope of a DLC, the book deals with the issues the Quarian ark faced that lead to it broadcasting a message to stay away. It could have potentially been a DLC showing what happened to the Quarian ark but IIRC it all takes place once the ark reaches Heleus/Andromeda. So just like finding the other arks you would be discovering the Quarian ark but their pathfinder would have in theory dealt with the issue or maybe not you'll have to read the book.

Yeah I've got plans for a Scott and a Sara fo rwhen I eventually do pick up MEA again. Goin gt ofinish ME3 firs tbefoe rI start on on eof them though. Did a little bit of ME 3and Hogwarts today .Thinking of returning t oME 3tomorrow to continue playing throug hthe Citadel DLC and mayb efinish the game. The actual finishing the game ma ydepend on how much I decide t odo DLC wise though. If I do manage to somehow do it before th eend o fth eda ywhich I doubt then I'l probably move onto MEA. I am currently replaying ME3 but am burnt out on Mass Effect. I've played them back to back to back 3 times two years ago. But now I get burnt out. I am up to the part where I have to disable the Geth fighters and then go to the Reaper base on Rannoch. The thing about this playthrough is that I am using a few mods like the LE3 Community Patch, and the happy ending mod, Citadel Epilogue Mod, and the Miranda as a Squadmate mod for the first time. So I am looking forward to complete the game and I do enjoy ME3 as much se the first two. I'm just burnt out. Yeah that's why I'm trying to rotate between each of m ycomfort games so I don' tget burnt out on any of them.I am in the mood fo rplayin them but with no new games on the horizon catching my interest really for the rest o fthe year i tseems wise t ojus trotate between them and pla ythem a little at a time. It's one of the main reasons wh yI chose t ostep back afte rpickin gup Captain America on Midnight Suns as I was feeling more in the mood fo rsomething with moer action and that's why yesterda yI picked up mytrilog yrun I have on the go t ocontinue that a bit. I completed the clon esection of the DLC yestreda yit's jus ta question o fhow muc hof the side content do I want to play before I move onto ME3's finale as I am considering skippin the party part but I do want to do some chill/hang out with you rcrew parts or whatever Havin said that I have played the trilogy countless times and I think I must be getting close to aroun 30 MEA playthroughs.I don' tknow for sure though as I've kind of stopped counting. I haven't touched MEA since Decembe rthough according t othe EA app so I haven't played it a tal this yea rso I think I'm due to give it another run.The last time I played MEA was quite litreally just befoer Midnight Suns cam eout December 1st according t othe app. As I remembe rMidnight Suns release date was Decembe r2nd

I'm trying to place where you are based on the thumbnail, but the Mountain Ascent region really sells the sense of scale.

Some people have been repeating it a little everywhere online, but it just shows they didn't read the novel. It's all based on them expecting a DLC and putting the blame on the wrong thing when they didn't got one. No problem. At the time I read that "rumor" I had not played any Mass Effect game. I was a die hard Dragon Age fan and only hung out in that section. But the cancellation of Andromeda intrigued me so that's when I read the "rumor."

Other than that you need to stay on your toes as you don't know what's going to happen. I still get blindsided now and then when playing the trilogy and Andromeda but then I like and welcom ethat as it helps make me less careless. Some of the othe rgames because they'er longer occasionall yfeellk ethey'er ovrestayin gtheir welcome a ttimes if you don' tgiv eyourself a break from them on occasion. I definitely fee lthat wa ysometimes wit hDAI and I felt tha tway a little when I was trying t ogrind m ywa yup to level 34 in Hogwarts towards the end of m yfirst run but after I changed my approach to the game for my second run it felt better as I did a lot of the grind whils tplaying the main story and I'm using the same approach on my Griifindor as well as I found myself enjoying the game much moer with that approach.

GW2I started episode 2 of the LS4. I'm now at a "beach resort" owned by Charr but controlled by Inquests and currently under an undead infestation. The Sandswept Isles is a pretty map, just full of annoying things that wants you dead. The episode also start with like 3 missions one after the other without going back into the "main world".

Pillars of EternityFinished the game and am ready to head into Deadfire. I chose to disintegrate both Thaos and Iovara's souls. Thaos was pretty disappointing. There wasn't enough in the flashbacks of my character's previous life to make a connection with him and in the present there was even less. He was just a dude leading a cult, doing bad things, he tried to kill me at one point but only because I stumbled upon his schemes in the Sanitarium, then he showed up at the animancy hearings and killed the duc, then Lady Webb. I didn't feel a personal drive to get to him and none of his disappointed sneering landed for me in any emotional capacity. Iovara is also a piece of work, huffing her own farts just as much as Thaos huffed his own. Half of what she said in Breith Eaman didn't make sense and the other half was manipulative bullshit. Not to mention the amount of self importance and pride she had. Lady, you're stuck down a hole, unable to continue spreading your teachings about the truth of the gods. You're not making a grand moral stand by not repenting, you're entertainment for the gods, if they even remember you're there. I had visions of her but they were my own memories resurfacing in my head, she didn't know me in this life until I showed up in Breith Eaman. That was the first time she saw me and had a conversation with me and she instantly thought I was there because of her. Wow, how important do you think you are? "Oh I see your soul is in anguish and your mind is shattering, clearly it's because you betrayed me that one time." I loved telling her I didn't remember why I betrayer her. She loved talking about assurances not being guaranteed when it suited her anti-god preaching, turning her words back in her face after she was close to begging for an answer was a pretty delicious humbling. If I hadn't disintegrated her soul and just left her in the adra soul prison, I wouldn't have disintegrated Thaos' soul at the end and banished him to Breith Eaman, too, and left him and Iovara to be passive-agressive to each other for eternity. Oh well, maybe a future playthrough.

God of War Ragnarok
Alas opened my big mouth and the game decided to poo poo all over on me. Sung its praises and then well it did start to get a little long in the tooth I guess.
Namely in the side quests because seems the ones in Vanaheim really are back to the low scale collect a thon or kill things which can try ones patience. Especially since the set up really reminds me of something ME 3 did and why I didn't necessarily like it. Just instead of really waves of trolley enemies you have a lot of puzzles in the quests which seem, I know its me, but a little trickier then they have any right to be especially for side quests. Just gotta increase that play time *grumble*. Which this did also lead into a really weird experiment with the Norn chest I found. Seemed to be one of those with the multi tiered thing like a train track. Except like before I guess just a lot worse the axe kept bouncing off, even when I was sure I got it. Just didn't have any luck.
I did forget, because of the way I do these things on my 'weekend'. It was hillarious because I wanted to get back to Freyr's camp to check in with the Elven lovers to hear if they had anything new to say about me doing that Favor for them. Well I traveled up one end of that river, for another, like over parts of two play sessions. And got tired and had a sinking theory so I looked into it and apparently, according to what I read, you could not get back to Freyr's camp unless you had a certain spoilery spear that you get later in the game. So I know we get a certain spoilery spear sometime in the game. That should be fun. But just when I gave up on finding said camp because of this information I start trying to head for one of the side quests...and I get to this new area that I hadn't been to recently but was starting to look freakishly familiar. Into a hole I went...and walla I was in Freyr's camp. And then what's worse? The Elves had nothing to say *head desk*.
From there pretty much went back to the story but nothing too much to report I guess.
Final Fantasy 7 (remake)
This game continues to be...odd. At least from a combat perspective it is beginning to become a much bigger annoyance that you have access to none of your abilities or items at the start of combat. You have to build up to having enough...whatever... in order to use it. Kind of makes some sense depending on the circumstance but there it is also a very weird design choice given there are things that you need to do for quests. My only guess is to not make the game too easy or as a sop to it being a turn based 'D&D style' RPG since in that you do have action points and actions which are required to do anything. But it makes it really hard to do a resource management when this resource is tied to everything...so its not like use a potion...or a spell...it counts to both.
Story front though this game continues to impress and surprise and be weird. Very muhahaha villains. And again working for and as an eco terrorist is kind of uncomfortable for me given things. But this game actually kind of does its homework and actually follows basic logic and is anticipating what I could see as tropes to make the villains unnecessarily stupid...but not falling for it. Cloud mentions they have cameras...so we're running through there and I'm thinking 'wait if they have so many cameras then why don't they use the footage they have of us?' Then minutes later we get trapped and get images of us distributed to the public because they saw us on camera. No idea the full consequences of that yet but well played Shinra. ANd its very HEAVILY implied that they have let us get this far specifically to make us into a bigger threat to increase their own power. Must say though on the flip side they do also let us sabotage their super bot a little easily.
Other then that something interesting is happening with the mask ghost figures. They didn't attack Cloud or Aerith, at least when the two were together, but they seem to go out of their way to attack Jessie...at least she felt called out...and hurt her leg. Interesting. Again no idea where this is going per se becuase it seems a little simple but my sus radar is going off.

TW3 - Death March Finished The difficulty ramped up significantly for Geralt's fight with Caranthir and then Eredin. Died a few times with both, mostly because they have such damaging ranged single target and AoE attacks that they don't need to close with Geralt. Until them, though, the tactic I read about here (not sure if it was azarhal or saandrig?) about fully upgraded Yrden basically being an 'I win' button was serving me almost amusingly well. I had basically ignored all the side quests/contracts/treasure hunts in the race to get the main story wrapped before BG3 releases. Now I will potter around, finishing things as I feel inspired to. The Ending for the Lady of Space and Time I thought I had messed up, because I forgot to do the snowball fight with her at Kaer Morhen, but after I got the ending, I went and checked, and it turns out you only need 2 out of 4 possible interactions to make it happen.

My time at SandrockAlways figured Lukas would be the farm boy, but it kind of looks like Duke will be taking that title. He’s got a stable for his horse, a hutch for his rabbits and a barn for his Yakmels. It does make the yard a bit cramped, but I think the setup is still fairly neat. Was tempted to put a sandfish pit on his lot but tried it with Lukas and it’s just a display pond. So probably won't. Figure one expansion on the side will make things look a bit nicer. Until I have to increase the machine platform size at least. He also adopted Nemo the corgi who has his own little house next to the stable. Now I just need to find out who to pair Duke with. Trails of Azure Picked it up again and started chapter 2. So lot’s and lots of wandering about, chatting. Played a bunch of Poker too because there were some neat prizes to be won. And I like poker. Got to enjoy some sweet tunes at the Heiyue Company. Kinda bummed it isn’t on the soundtrack I got with Zero. Or the Terminal Room jam. Because it’s a bop. Pervert lady got +1 point during the cat quest. Would’ve gotten another if she’d curb stomped them because the dialog before the question starts makes what they done did sound a lot worse. Like I read the quest name and I will break your jaw bad. But seems it sounded worse than it was. The Pompom party thing was a nightmare. Thankfully retry is an option because I'm rubbish at Tetris. The tower section was interesting, even if I didn’t get much of what was going on politics wise, I did enjoy how pretty the tower was and how intense things got during the end. The intermission was a blast. You get to chill at a big resort, go on rides, murder penguins and hang out with the buddies. Also realized that Lloyd and Randy are really bulky muscle wise. Like wow. Figure the chibis threw me off because the clothes they're usually sporting look so thick and it's at least two or three layers. But naw. It's paper thin Also found a pretty good reason to not bother with 100% because the spooky roller coaster is something else. Currently maybe 1/4th into chapter 3. Got a big old talking session up next, so that's fun. But figure I'd better do it this run because the skipping will be heavy when I replay and goshdarn it I want to absorb as much juicy dialog as I can while my focus is still here!

Well done, no way I am even trying to attempt that!!!!!! Give a me a shooter and I'll do the highest difficulty but not Sword and Spell stuff just not good enough.

GW2Episode 2 of living season 4 finished. I resolved the Bug in the System (it's the title), well technically I discovered what was the bugs. Someone else ran off with them. I also finally met Taimi's old school friends. Both are nerds, since they are Asura it would be surprising if they were not. Next episode start with having to defend one of these nerds from the authorities because they talked a wee bit too much about their "previous" work/job. I think I'm taking a break from gaming until BG3 release thought. Or I'll dabble in Stardew Valley/My time at Sandrock during that time. Something light without twitching combat.
