Been doing tons of side quests in Midnight Suns in order to unlock any character skins I wanted. I’m finally done and can move on in the main story.

I was considering buying this until I saw SSD required. I have an SSD but it's the drive with my op system and while technically I have enough space for another 150GB game I prefer to keep it mostly clear. I have installed Diablo 4 on that drive since it is SSD only. With Starfield also needing it, I need to try to install the one I bought a while back when it was on sale. Can always use another TB of storage! All PC gamers an always use another TB of storage. Games takes so much space these days. Who are you and what did you do to our faceless azarhal?!

My series X loads things pretty smooth using it.I don' tthink we'll be able to ge tawa ywit husing hard drives fo rmuch more than storage an dold games from now on. I would byu a 4tb SSD t oreplace my HDD too but the problem i sth ebigger the capacit ythe moe rthe ycost and 1tb SSD' scos tenough as it is.

Yeah, what I do is with Steam for example is move games that are installed on my SSD, and I am not playing at the moment to my HDD or external HDD. I do this because for me Steam games take a long time to download. But I just started to download BG3 with GOG Galaxy an 40 minutes ago and it just finished. But downloading Mass Effect: Legendary Edition through Steam takes many hours to download. EA games like DAI download fast as well through the EA App/Origin.

Now played Baldur's Gate 3. I'm going to be posting in the related threads in the "other BioWare games" subforums instead of in here my exploits. To avoid spoiling people inadvertently. I'm not off the intro yet, but I did settle on a character. For now. I do have restart-isite.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is 100gb and takes many hours too download (sometimes 2 days). Where as Baldur's Gate 3 is 126gb and took only 40 minutes to download through GOG Galaxy.

That's weird STEAM and GOG are quick for me but EA App is less than half the speed, I think it is location based in terms of DNS servers (I have no idea what I am talking about) someone told me when I was playing The Division Co-Op as Uplay/Ubisoft Connect is slow too.

Wasn't in the mood to play games for the past weeks and instead binge on books and watching tv dramas. Not sure why but it could be due to some internal unrest as I'm going to move into a new home soon. I'm simply waiting for renovations to complete. Anyway, BG3 has launched.
BG 3
I decided not to play an origin character yet so I started with a male half elf ranger with the intention of romancing Shadowheart. The graphics of this game is sharp and beautiful. There is a lot of difference between the EA and launched versions.
The game looks soup up and polished. 😄 At the moment, I have Shadowheart and Astarion in the party and they're still roaming the beach. Will pick up the wizard and the gith soon.

Yes, I agree the performance of the game has improved since I last played EA 3 years ago. I am going to go incognito for awhile and avoid this thread and the BG3 spoiler thread. I played the Mass Effect games for the first time 2 years ago, and up to that point I knew nothing of the series only that the main character's name was Shepard and that they can be male or female. I will hang around the other parts of the forum like the Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, and Witcher threads.

Well, at long last we have what we need to acquire the goal and in the meantime we shall be taking things easy picking some items here and there as well spending some quality time with the crew (specially Merrin) before continuing our journey:

God of War Ragnarok
Tracking down the last few side quests, probably, of this particular run that I will be able to do. Closed off the last two of the Hel tears. Cool combat moment here as I took Kratos and just marched him up as cool as you can be as he then took his axe and bashed it in the head of the Hel thingy.
From there off to the Lindyworm things. Kind of weird as they just appear from the rift all tearing and gnashing, got a bit of a jump scare from the first one. Have to do the whole 'hit circle' thing a bunch of times to get them to...bow down. And into the contraption the Squirell made. (I'm watching a DAI lets play right now I think Sera is rubbing off on me).
In Midgard did decide to go take out the wolf eating raiders since Atreus asked. Kind of a neat quest in the end though, again belongs in the emotional camp. Going through each one and the dogs whimpered because they were scared since the raiders killed their entire pack and they remembered. Lots of great commentary here and another cool moment as Kratos was forced to consider the situation similar to what happened with Deimos. Kratos then reassured his 'girl dogs' that everything was fine after we killed the last of the Raiders. This game does have a cool mechanic to as in the sort of more open areas the creatures you ride to get around they and the sled actually follows you around, instead of the whole 'horse pocket' thing.
Last but not least another did another favor that probably didn't have a lot of intention of doing but bumped into the first objective. Interesting quest more 'flavor of life' but it still had an interesting thematic twist. Father hears about treassure. Father tells son that going after treassure is too dangerous. Father goes off after one half of the treassure, gets killed. Son goes after second half of treassure, and get killed. Seems there could be some meta commentary here, maybe some foreshadowing. Though in the end I think one of those 'open world' probablems since Atreus was like after we completed it 'maybe the father will learn to trust the son more?' and Kratos 'your interpretation is your own.' Now small issue and technically still works but right now Atreus and Kratos has a more stable relationship so I can't help but feel that this quest was meant to be completed 'earlier.'

SO again some Skyrim today but man is it a slog and it's all on me I just get myself moving forward, keep getting distracted or stuff arsing around with the MOD settings doing other minor stuff.
To top it off when I last played this game I was a master with the bow and combat, I could stealth and take enemies with the bow from great distances. It feels to me like with the bow in particular something has changed and something has gone, RMB has started opening the journal instead of blocking and with the bow there does not appear to be any zoom, did there used to be? Maybe I have played too much AC where the bow stuff is exemplary and accurate as hell.
Now I cannot even see the enemies half the time so I am not sure if there is a setting or something that I am missing but I just don't remember enemies being so small and hard to see. Hell the screen I am using now is almost double the size and the GPU and monitor quality is light years better. Maybe I am also just not being patient enough and have forgotten guard movements etc.
Anyway tomorrow going to go through all the settings again and start with resetting to default as all I remember changing is the run key to LSHIFT.

The RMB = journal must be a mod or some weird change to settings. That's not normal. Don't remember how it was in vanilla but for me the zoom functionality of the bow is a perk in the archery skill tree, which I cn unlock pretty early on (skill level 20 or 30 or something like that). But I have a mod called Vokrii, which changes skill perks (for the better I'd say), so not sure how it usually is. But check your perks.
As for seeing enemies, I don't have that problem, sure, when you are in the high grass of the tundra you may sometimes miss a wolf or something but that's ok IMO.
On a different note, I have started the first episode of The Expanse. Haven't finished it yet (not much time atm) but so far so good. It's typical Telltale in terms of gameplay (dialogues, QTEs, minimal exploration), the movement in zero-G is a bit weird. Otherwise it works ok. Story is only getting started, so can't say much yet, the atmosphere of the TV show is well preserved though. They have a couple of original voice actors from the series and you can also recognize some of the sets. The very beginning is a bit weird because it's a short "flash forward" scene. I thought that was a very odd decision for a Telltale game. I mean, sure we know by now that all the decisions and their consequences are mostly just smoke and mirrors but still, sabotaging even that illusion by advertising it to the player that you will definitely end up at one particular scene and there is nothing you can do about it, I thought this was a very odd thing to do in this kind of game.

EA juas tdropped the Matchda yexdperienc edeep dive and i tlooks reall ycoolThey've now got 2 commentary teams on the game so I can switch between either oneas the ystill have Derek Rae and Stewart Robson but they've added Guy Mowbray an dSue Smith as an alternative. Hopefully there's an option that randomly selects which one you hear for eac match like they did for Fifa 20 when Martin Tyler was still on it. TBH right now EA are only making me want to play it even more. I'm jus thoping the yinvite me to Beta test again. That starts next week though I believe so I'm not worrying about it right now but I am glad I have the game preordered on my Xbox. In the meantim eback to the Fifa's I do have full accress to as I'm trying to finish a season of career mode on Fifa 17 befoer playing season 1 of the Journey again on my series X. Hopefull ymy Xbox saves can carry over from one game t othe nex tseeing as my PC one has stopped doing that for some reason.

BG3
I'm playing a tiefling bard with the college of lore sub-class (regular Tav, though might try Dark Urge at one point as well), and I'm romancing Astarion like I did in the early access. Will I likely restart again with a different class at one point or another? Yes...yes I probably will, because I'm fickle like that, especially with a new game
So...apparently it's now a dream guardian instead of lover? I don't know which I find more terrifying, a character who claims to love you...or one that claims to protect you (And yet I'm more willing to trust the guardian one...which is likely going to bite me in the ass later xD (I keep trying to avoid using the Ilithid powers, which is pretty hard because they keep shoving them into your face)
A few other things in spoilers, mostly my opinion on the companions I have so far Can I just say I love what they did with Wyll's character? Especially that transformation? I was not expecting that! Still don't like Lae'zel, I was half tempted to not allow her into my party... Shadowheart is a bit different too, especially with that hurt thing going on with him Gale's new introduction made me laugh, him sticking his hand from that portal hoping there'd be someone to pull him through? Hilarious xD Astarion is...still Astarion, a silky smooth bastard Oh and I love Karlach, she's so sweet, I just want to hug her...but chances are she'll burn me to a crisp, so let's not...at least for now I also have Halsin, but haven't really formed an opinion on him yet, aside from the fact he'd probably give great hugs.
So...tomorrow, probably going to deal with Aunty Ethel... Or make a new character, haven't decided yet.
I mean, I do want to keep playing a tiefling...but not really sure what other class would go well with them. I generally go against stereotypes in DnD, and I'm already playing a tiefling bard in a tabletop setting, so...yeah
I might want to try out a tiefling paladin instead, but I'm way too afraid I'll end up breaking my oath too quickly
...I'll just shut up now

So I started up MODDED Skyrim after going out last night with the intent of resetting the settings to default. The game was a hot mess, ESC had stopped working, things were blurry, animations were freezing etc. etc. etc. I thought that's it I have had enough. Had to end the game in the Task Manager as I couldn't get to the quit button. Then thought I'll boot Vanilla Skyrim up and see if I can reset there, did that then restarted the game via Vortex which has been a bit of an adventure in itself with SKSE button sometimes working to start it and the big PLAY button sometimes starting it with SKSE. Anyway the game started and was a completely different beast and clearer and my bow work was pretty exemplary, objects/resolution was sharper, movement was better and everything worked as it is supposed to in terms of controls. I am however back to using ALT to sprint which is weird but I am not changing it to SHIFT again. So played for a couple hours heading for Whiterun but then of course venturing off path to kill some Giants and some Trolls in a cave and then clearing Fort Amoll though it didn't clear. Either I missed something which was possible as it was really foggy but pretty certain it is a quest location. Then was too tired to do anymore, I am not young anymore I keep discovering. Will not probably get to play tomorrow but hopefully Anyway tomorrow everything will be stable again, I just wish I knew what the source of the problems was.

Has anyone else been having problems with BSN lately, pages taking forever to load the site taking forever to load posts not posting etc?
I have cleared cookies and history multiple times, logged in and out multiple times but using BSN has become like a visit back to dial up for me. It isn't happening with any other websites?????

Yes, it's been prevalent and noticeable the past few days or so, to me at least. I thought it was my net or VPN getting screwy but other sites work as-intended.
And this happens just after I come back? Coincidence? Hmm... Maybe it's my fault, or maybe it's DKR not feeding the hamsters.

Played some more Heroes of Might and Magic 5. Playing the Stronghold faction, tribal orcs basically. Orcs in this game are half-human half-demon, generally the offspring of slaves of the demons so, they don't like demonkind much. Centaurs can up upgrade from half man/horse to half man/ helsteed, for instance. Found that idea rather interesting. Game could not be going better. I'm slowing things down so I can go get a relic to build. The enemy is avoiding me now and fighting amongst themselves. Meanwhile I consolidate from a vigorous expansive conquest and get my main hero ready to search for the Tear of Asha; basically a game-ending artifact that makes whichever city you build it in a ridiculous amount of gold, increased army growth, and some generic faction-specific buff that's usually crap. These guys play pretty fun too, very different mechanic to them from the other races. They have goblins. Goblins have uses by some of the other units. They also play into a metagame technique wherein you use stacks of single shitty units to block other enemy stacks for one turn. (Then they get murdered.) Well, this faction also has an Enrage mechanic. More rage they get the more buffs they get. And when you lose a stack, any stack, all your units get pissed. They get rage. So you want this lil goblin running in and getting murdered for the communal (out)rage. Rage also acts as a partial damage soak. It shields a certain not-insignificant percent of incoming damage, lowering their rage points in the process but keeping them alive. I mentioned other units use them too. This is where things get funny. These poor poor mistreated goblins... Shamans can sacrifice one of them to cast Lightning Bolt. A pretty decent damaging spell that can target anywhere on the map. But Cyclops, Cyclops have a few uses. They can eat one to regain their health, and, this is the best part... the Cyclops in the game, if they are standing next to a goblin, can THROW THE GOBLIN AT THE ENEMY. They become ranged, and their ammo is how many goblins they have standing around them. It's priceless. *** This is the centaur lady that led the charge. Haggash, my starting hero. Pretty sure she's banned in multiplayer matches. She generally gets to act first with decent ranged units. Early on when the battles only last a couple turns that can really keep the casualties down in this casualty driven-faction. Very useful and a tad OP. She starts with a good amount of centaurs and she increases their starting initiative as she levels. This is her lil in-game bio: Haggash, an orphan found wandering in the steppes near Qutugh during the Year of the Sea of Manes, was taken in by a tribe of Centaurs and raised as one of them. Now a leader of Centaur troops, her half-man half-hellsteed legions are quicker, more reliable and dangerous.Also... Bloodeyed Cyclops would like you all to know he's feeling very pretty today...

It has been absolutely horrendous for me for the last three weeks or so. Constant time outs and err bears. And yeah, only this site. Maybe ProBoards servers are melting down in the northern heatwave? I don’t take responsibility at all. I don’t know these hamsters, I’ve never met these hamsters, but I hear good things.
