I would have picked up where I left off months ago except that I can't remember how to handle the mechs, their strengths and weaknesses. It's gone a little more easier this time as I do remember distance is the better option when the mechs are equipped with missiles and beams. I'm playing on custom difficulty with a money cheat mod so I doubt I'm going to be spending too much time on the profit missions.
For the main story missions, I've taken Panzyr. Smithon is next but I'm supposed to be doing my own stuff while waiting for Lady Arano to arrange the take back of Smithon. It's a pity this story has no romance but then on the other hand, I don't see the point of tying the knot with Lady Arano when she's going to take back the throne. Political marriage is in her card.

Fallout New Vegas
The longer this DLC goes on the more off putting it gets for Dead Money and indeed so far it does not seem like this game really has good DLC in general. I guess the 'horror' mechancis are getting long in the tooth for me and it does take some leaps in logic.
Mainly when you start the Gala event there is really no way for you to go back and regroup with your team. At that point its every mon for themselves (continuing to watch Digimon my appologies). And unless I missed something there isn't a lot of excuse for it, just seems to create unneccessary conflict and back up Dean's statements of 'if you leave me'. And I really didn't want to do it either.
From there to kind of a repitition since you also have to 'deal' with your team first. So just what you have already done, twice. Anyways since I was getting along with Christine the most it was off to...go get her first. Also Father Elijah delightfully informed me that the bomb collars no longer instantly blow up if I kill off one of the team...just on a delay.
Anyways though Christine was trapped in the hotel room of the whole reason this hotel existed in the first place. Vera. And the rooms were filled with holograms of Vera who recorded her last words, screaming for Sinclair to help you. ANd of course these are the bad holos which will kill you if you cross their path. It got to hillarious effect though where there was one of the holos to my left and one to my right with overlapping dialogue. Anyways though Christine repaired her voice so she gave me a run down on Father Elijah and her role in things, that she had been hunting him for years. From there convinced her to join with me and work together to bring down Elijah. Though she has to stay behind in the hotel room for some reason but promises to help me from there.
Dean...remains a little bitch. He barricaded himself inside the theater in an attempt to...essentially wait us out. From there Raylan does the whole tricking him to revealing his plans with clever dialogue and cornered him. But alas he was surrounded by speakers and locked doors so a lot of trial and error was involved trying to get to him. A single shotgun blast ended his idiocy, but then I did have to limp out of the room in order to outrun the bomb collar from going off.
Last but certainly not least, the one I was thinking would be the most problematic would be Dog. Kind of an interesting choice he finally suffered from a psychological break with Dog basically wanting to end it all and burn the casino into the ground. I started negotating with him after closing down his gas valves and could get him to psychologically kill the God aspect, kill the Dog aspect, or pass a speech check in order to get the two personalities to merge. I essentially did save scum in order to pull off the merge since I had a proper skill book. And well mixed feelings on it since, for some reason, this process would leave him with no recollection of anything before. A brand new psychological personality. SO he'd be no help when facing Father Elijah. Sitll though the dialogue option I chose really rings true and makes me accept this, Rayland told him that he didn't want him under anyone's control...even his own.

Played some Marvels Midnight Suns last night. I forgot how good the game is. Did mainly non-story missions leveling up Storm, Morbius, and Venom. Once I am comfortable enough with all three I will finish Storm and Morbius' dlc then finish the story missions.

Must admit I'm starting to feel a little burned on the Fifa front atm so may end up stoppping soon. So I'm thinking I may just focus on my careers and less on the women's leagues for now so I can at least say I've done a season or 2 on the new game. Especially as a lot of the new cutscene stuff doesn' tcom ein until you finish the season as they'er mostly about celebrating the trophies you win and such each year. I am still enjoying it but I'm starting to feel like I need a break and play something else. So I may be back on my RPG's soon.

I definitely do not like it when being given a mechwarrior with a mech I have zero info on its strengths and weaknesses for a mission. It's one of those; nope, you can't refuse because it's part of the story.
What worse is that her mech has no jump jets. *sigh* The normal move is too short. If she sprint, she cannot shoot.
What came after that though was interesting because I was given an assault mech, the Highlander HGN-732B. It comes with the M-7 Gauss rifle. The first I've seen on any mech. The rifle cuts through armour and the usual mech that gets hit by it can say goodbye. No doubt I'll likely see mechs that can withstand it for another round in later missions.
I've no idea what's going to happen next after the last jaunt that turned the ship upside down. It's akin to ME2; hey, let's plug that IFF in scenario except that it's opening an encrypted data storage module that's a few hundred years old. Win some, lose some. 😑 Luckily, nobody died.

Guys, I'm so conflicted right now. I finished BG3 last night and I was 100% going to play Starfield next. Was hyped like crazy for years. But now I worry the game will feel like a collosal disappointment after I just finished one of the best RPGs ever made. Heard very mixed things about Starfield. Also 70€ for a PC game is yuck. Never spent that much ever before.
I see the Cyberpunk DLC bundle can be had for 60€ right now. Fair price imo. I've been dying to play the game for years and now I have a RTX 4090 so finally I can enjoy it with ray tracing. At the same time it's not a genre I enjoy much and I've ALSO been worried I won't like that game. I'm basically only interested because CDPR and RPG.
I could check out Starfield on Game Pass but for such a longish game that's stupid and I will probably mod it at some point regardless. So that's not an option that makes sense to me.
If I put off Starfield any longer I might get exposed to spoilers. I've been carefully avoiding them but it's annoying.
I don't know what to do. I wanted to do Starfield now and then Cyberpunk over Christmas on sale. But it's on sale already.
Ah. Help me decide!

Kappa Neko In my opinion Starfield is great. It's no Baldur's Gate 3, but in my opinion it is the best Bethesda game since Morrowind. The main quest and factions are better than in Skyrim (although I haven't finished the MQ). The dialogue is more rpg'ish and the companions are the best Bethesda has ever done. It's like they saw how popular Serana was and improved on her. But they are still not at BioWare's level but for a Bethesda game they are great. Not since Morrowind have I enjoyed the vanilla unmodded game. I did not buy the game I got it through Xbox Game Pass for PC. When I get payed next week I will buy the game or wait until they remove it from XGP.

When I get payed next week I will buy the game or wait until they remove it from XGP. I just bought Cyberpunk because I don't think there will be a better sale for a while, so there's no disadvantage to buying it and starting to install it while I mull over what to play first. Friend told me to play Cyberpunk and then mod the game together months down the road when he's got time for Starfield. Well, worthwhile modding is 1-2 years away, I wager. I won't wait for mods this time. I guess it does kinda make sense to wait for patches and play Starfield during my two weeks Christmas break when I have time to get totally immersed in exploration for hours at a time... Yeah, seems like most people who love Bethesda say the game is great and possibly the best they've done while regular gamers seem to hate the same things people always hate about Bethesda games: clunky servicebale story, mediocre companions, mediocre gunplay. Every feature worse than in other games that focus on it. This has always been true. Serana was GREAT. I got BioWare vibes from her back in the day. Maybe because it was Laura Bailey. Don't play with my heart saying they're all like her in Starfield, lol. I think Nick was the best companion they ever wrote, especially because of Far Harbor. That was genuinely great writing. Not just "Bethesda good" which is average for any other RPG tbh. OK I'm even more conflicted than before now but thanks for your input, lol.

I wanted to do Starfield now and then Cyberpunk over Christmas on sale. But it's on sale already. Ah. Help me decide! Since you asked for help. I had no issue going from BG3 to Starfield. Very different games on the RPG spectrum. BG3 is heavy story/class focused with high interactivity/reactivity. Starfield is like previous BSG games, more freeform in term of who/what you are, give you some features to work on whatever character you plan, but lacks in interactivity/reactivity even if there is more than in their previous games. There are dialogue choices based on skills/traits/background thought. Starfield is way slower to get into too, you need a good 20 hours to absorb all the features/mechanics if not more. Best BSG writing and VO since Morrowind imho, but the main story start slow. You really need to find the gaming loop that works for you as well, it's a gigantic game with too many badly explained features and default too easily to "fast travel" instead of immersing yourself in it. For example, I'm having more fun on my 3rd character than I did on my first two. Part of that is understanding the game better, the other part is that melee sucks. Finally, go with the Steam version if you wants mods. Oh and its a gigantic game... Cyberpunk 2077 is more story focused than Starfield, but it has a similar combat to Starfield (I haven't played much of 2.0 thought). More adventure game than RPG at times as well. The expac apparently allows for more RP/C&C in quests, but I haven't reached that point to validate, I just heard it mentioned in a review (by Mortismal, he knows his RPGs). If what you like is cutscenes and story, Cyberpunk 2077 has more of that. If you want freeform role-playing a space character through a few faction storylines and side quests then Starfield. Another BG3 playthrough is also an option. I personally probably would do Cyberpunk 2077 before Starfield. More chance of getting that spoiler if you haven't yet already. Also, shorter even if it is still a long game. Oh and don't go blade in CP2077 to avoid the gore. There was more than I remember on my newbie Blade character last night. Starfield has no in-combat gore (unlike Skyrim/Fallout).

I think Nick was the best companion they ever wrote, especially because of Far Harbor. That was genuinely great writing. Not just "Bethesda good" which is average for any other RPG tbh. I forgot about Nick Valentine I loved him! He was great too I was just comparing Starfield to Skyrim, since it's Bethesda's most famous game. The companions in Starfield are immersive, they have their own opinions on quests and locations, and they speak to npc's while you're speaking to the npc just like in BioWare games. I know as a BioWare fan you have to be wondering, so? What's the big deal? Well Bethesda has invested more time into making the game more of a rpg than their previous games. I am mainly speaking about Skyrim. Morrowind is my favorite game of theirs but I have to admit the dialogue while good was repeated by most npc's. For example if you asked about the Great Houses most of the npc's had the same exact opinions. Word by word. I do wish though Bethesda would have adopted the faction reputation system from Fallout: New Vegas. I became a very influential citizen of a city in Starfield and most npc's do not recognize my new status like in New Vegas. At least in SKyrim when we became Thane of a city the guards would acknowledge our new status. As for Cyberpunk I have not bought the new dlc, but I have owned the base game since it's release, and I never finished the game only made it to the halfway point. Not because the game is bad or because the story was not interesting. It's just because I lack focus and my mind wanders. For example I've been playing Baldur's Gate 3 since release, but when Starfield released I started playing on that as well instead of just focusing on BG3. So now I've been rotating between both games.

I didn't hear good things about Starfield either and I had high expectations after all the hype about it. After watching an hour of gameplay I decided it isn't for me because it's akin to the FO series where the characters are statues in front of you as you talk to them and they don't really have much to offer outside of mission stuff. imo, it doesn't warrant the $100 price tag at my end. I may get it when price is slashed down sharply and that's going to be many years later. If you like the FO series, then it's the game for you. 😄

For me I'lllikel ydo i tthe other wa yround rty Starfield firs tthen rty Baldur's Gate. Mostly because I'm planning to do a run of all 3 BG games whic hwill add more time to the experience. You might want to check out any video you can find of controls for the starship in combat it may make it hard for you to play or at least more of a challenge for you with having to use the mouse and some keys simultaneously. You may be able to rebind some stuff though.

😄 I am enjoying it after a bit of a late game slump, but that was more me loosing focus on why I was playing. A lot of the reviews are really off the mark from what I have seen and there are 10 million people playing so it can't be that bad. I have never played any Fallout games but have played Skyrim and you can play first person or third and the staring at the NPC you are talking to is a downgrade apparently on Cyberpunk but seriously I didn't notice it till I read an article about it and it doesn't bother me in the slightest TBH. I had some early game gripes where I struggled with some aspects of the gameplay but it didn't take too long for me to level up a bit and get better. Inventory management and encimbrance are issues but MODS fixed that for me. I also installed some MODS to improve the lighting and a few other QOL things. Have racked up 134 hours and could end this PT now but am putting off the final mission just to do some missions that involve a lot of exploring. That can be a bit tedious but it's for the most part enjoyable.

You may be able to rebind some stuff though. I forgot about the space combat. It took me awhile to get used to locating the enemy ship before it could do any real damage. Also like every Bethesda game the console is your friend. I've only encountered one bug involving opening a door during a mission. I used the "TCL" command to toggle collision off and pass through the door.

Battletech
So A was captured and Kamea clapped A in one of the allies' prison. However, this particular ally has a loophole recently discovered and I was wondering what the heck happened to this angle when the call for a war council was received.
Well darn, A was sprung out of prison by a Taurian commander out to avenge his son's death on Kamea. This means the ally went down and I'd bet a million it's the loophole that helped to further weaken this ally's home defenses.
The advice to Kamea is not to charge at the Taurian commander because the public announcement is clearly to provoke her into attacking directly. So she said instead of directly, she'll use a scalpel meaning me, the mercenary commander.
That's a freaking bad idea, Kamea. Just me and my mechwarriors alone against an army? 😶
In any case, I'm wondering if there would be a slight change in the epilogue slides, which I've seen, because I've been choosing my responses to her requests as not money motivated but because I believe in her cause. I'm thinking it's not going to affect anything.
Not sure about this because at the end, she asks the question; what's the reason I chose to fight for her?
As I chose to reduce enemy strengths, the battles so far are manageable. It's no fun when there're four vehicles and four mechs pounding away at the squad of which I can only take three others. Worse if there are reinforcements. So far I've only one mechwarrior running out of ammo on her mech so she's reduced to getting up close and meleeing.
I had to outfit her mech again after that, sacrificing some armour to drop in another load of ammo.
I wonder if the devs did a quiet patch up because in the previous PT, I had a hard time trying to kick up morale. No matter what I do, the bar stayed stubbornly in the middle. This time however, the morale bar moves.

Dead Money. Worse. DLC. Ever. No hyperbole. No joke. Just so many weird and assinine mechanics which has coupled one after another. Just...the ultimate yikes. But I did get it done in the end. I'm done.
Got to the vault. Discovered it was basically a trap and Dean Domino was going to rob it with Veera so the whole Vault thing was going to be a trap except he kind of had a change of heart. Of course the nature of the trap, I mean from a metatextual standpoint it kind of plays off of the player's potential desire to NOT actually read the notes. But in universe it does not make a lot of sense since A. well if Dean did read the Vera note then he would know to NOT read the personal logs one and...like why would...oh wait ugh I just worked through B since I think you have to read some of the notes to get out to. Hmm. I think anyways.
But anyways from there this is where the crap started. Pass a speech check, Father Elijah comes down to confront you and you basically have to kill him or sneak past him. Do half wonder if I missed something in hindsight but the man just had eyes like a friggin eagle because no matter what you'd do he would get the defense screens up so he'd be trapped. Solution? *sigh* No clipping. But I was just about to be done with the whole thing.
Returned to New Vegas and caught up with the gang and then proceeded to kiss random strangers I was so happy to be back in the Mojave. Then slept for fourteen hours. At least I got like 5 gold bars worth, it seems, 8K caps a pop. So that is...something.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.
