Hrungr are you going to post comments re your AC Black Flag PT here or are you posting somewhere else and I have missed it? There was no real BF thread here (I think), and I didn't really want to start one for just me, so I've just been posting to Twitter (so far).

Can't you just post it here? I guess I can't hurt to make the odd update here... Black Flag has been... pretty good so far. Story and characters are decent, and honestly it's a damn good-looking game for 2013. As per usual, I tend to put off pushing the main questline forward, instead clearing a bunch of side content first and upgrading all the things. I got a feeling, just a feeling mind you, that PETA's not gonna be happy with me though... Hunt 3 rare White Whales to make a vest?? I've just gotten to the point where I'm now squatting in a former Templar's house, and acting like a proper landowner by expanding my commercial enterprises with things like... a brothel.

Is there another way to play an AC game or any other for that matter, especially that require resource gathering!!!!! Hey the Brothel is obviously important cause it certainly costs enough to damn well build!!!!! Not to mention the Bonfire I think that also cost a fortune. Oh SO many people (including PETA) were up in arms about the Hunting but funnily enough not about the wholesale slaughter of other animals for resources???? Are you enjoying the ship fighting, fighting the forts is fun.

Is there another way to play an AC game or any other for that matter, especially that require resource gathering!!!!! I feel like I might go a wee bit overboard sometimes, to the point where I kinda forget what I'm supposed to be doing in the main storyline. Hey the Brothel is obviously important cause it certainly costs enough to damn well build!!!!! Not to mention the Bonfire I think that also cost a fortune. Clearly a vital service industry. Oh SO many people (including PETA) were up in arms about the Hunting but funnily enough not about the wholesale slaughter of other animals for resources???? Admittedly I wondered if anyone would raise an eyebrow to skinning monkeys in the game... But hey... um, you can pet doggos & kittehs. Are you enjoying the ship fighting, fighting the forts is fun. The fort battles are definitely fun and pretty easy actually. They don't tend to move around much. (But I think having magical waterspouts protecting your fort is kinda cheap. ) Ships battles are generally fun... until you run into these guys.

The Bounty Hunters or just Men of War in general, with the MoW once you have Mortars they are a lot easier? Are you doing the collecting of ships for Kenway's fleet? I collected Bounty Hunter ships with Mythical type names for mine. They can be pretty tough early on and yes magical water spouts protecting forts is a bit lame. You can also pat the cows!!!!

I have a mortar, which I do use occasionally, but aiming it is a real pain. I have been diligently building the fleet though, and it's just getting to the point where the profits... aren't bad. I don't think I've seen a cow yet, but I'll keep an eye out now.

The Mortars are great for sneaking up behind all ships but especially the MoW as they make the MoW much easier to defeat as they can't manoeuvre very fast. Like in AC3 the trade system can make you rich really quick if you can be bothered with it. The cows are hard to miss, wont spoil it with a picture they are so beautiful!!!!!!

Like in AC3 the trade system can make you rich really quick if you can be bothered with it. The cows are hard to miss, wont spoil it with a picture they are so beautiful!!!!!! Okay, so I'm over 50% mission complete and probably 75% exploration complete... and I just ran across my first cow yesterday. They're rarer than white leapards! And damn those waterspouts are annoying. It's like they've got GPS tracking and an Express Delivery! Still picking away at the main questline... at a leisurely rate. Though I've noticed the longer I play, the less stable the game becomes. In the beginning I had just the odd crash, but it started crashing more and more as went along. I tried a number of things on various forums, but nothing really helped. This morning something really went sideways. I couldn't even start the game, and the options to Verify Files & Uninstalled were greyed out in UPlay. Problem for another day I think...

That's really weird re the stability issue, it was a long time ago but I only remember a few crashes/freezes????? Uninstall and re-install maybe the games not that big and just the usual stuff like the shortcut is set to "Run as Administrator" (same with Uplay) and the security settings are all "Full Control". Launching by right clicking on the .exe is another solution I have seen if you just want to bypass Uplay. Found this on the forums: support.ubisoft.com/en-US/faqs/000025513/General-PC-TroubleshootingAre you enjoying the story? Blackbeard is one of my favourites as is James Kidd.

I've got it play again, but it's still pretty unstable. I've been trying a number of things to get it to behave better, but so far no magic bullet. But now that I've cleared the bulk of the map, I'm back on the main questline. Feeling like I'm just starting to get some momentum here. The story's been pretty decent so far, and Blackbeard's turning out to be quite the character, for sure. He needs to take his act to Broadway. And I was wondering when they'd get around to the inevitable "James" Kidd "plot twist". I'm now at the point where I've got a diving bell and explored a couple of wrecks. Looks like a bunch of the upgrade plans at the diving sites. While the diving is kinda fun, I do miss the ability to fight underwater though, as we could in Odyssey. Here it's just.. avoid. Everything.

Everything.Playing Odyssey ATM and clearing the underwater sights I rarely 'try" to fight the damn sharks, I either shoot them with arrows before diving or use the BF hide in the reeds tactic which is more realistic cause you are an assassin right???? Yeah it's pretty obvious from the beginning regarding Kidd's gender but it's one of my favourite storylines in the game and very sad at the end I also like Ann Bonnie's story at the end but it was disappointing that she turns Kenway down re a relationship but good that she joins the ship I like Blackbeard and his quests as well.

Playing through all the old games (got them over a year ago during a super sale) and just finished Brotherhood.
I don’t get the appeal of Ezio or Desmond. People keep going in about how great they are, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a scene where I’ve loved them. Altair at least is supposed to be like that.

Made some more headway in the main storyline, as well completed the final upgrades to the Jackdaw. I'm a little over 80% complete now, and while I think the storyline overall is pretty good, it hasn't grabbed me as strongly as some of the others in the series. I think this one's going to land somewhere in the middle for me. And I'm starting to feel the tedium of repetitive gameplay set in so it's starting to drag a bit now. As it's not an RPG, you don't have any input to help break that up. Another reason it might not have grabbed me as strongly is because I started playing AC with the later games (Origins & Odyssey), and have been kinda working my way backwards. So I played the more refined games first... Blackbeard's retirement party had all the fireworks you'd expect... And now we're down to... this guy. I can't even remember his name. And we're marooned. And he goes crazy. Because of course he does. And in a really odd transition, Edward is rescued... and suddenly has his ship and crew back. But, Edward finally catches up with "The Sage", so he can get back to chasing his White Whale - "The Observatory". However, if this Observatory requires a blood sample in a special cube of the person you want to track, that doesn't seem especially useful.

That quest where you get stuck with the crazy dude, is it "Calico" Jack Rackham is a pain in the butt but he was mad before that anyway. Yeah I have tried to replay the older games (most recently the AC3 remaster) and I just can't do it for the repetitiveness and also the game mechanics, even Black Flag which I love I only got 2 replays out of it before it got tedious.

Hell, they're all mad (including Kenway) in their own way. But Blackbeard was easily the most interesting among them, so it was sad to see him go. I kinda wished they had waited until closer to the end. Yeah I have tried to replay the older games (most recently the AC3 remaster) and I just can't do it for the repetitiveness and also the game mechanics, even Black Flag which I love I only got 2 replays out of it before it got tedious. They recently had AC2 on for free, so I picked that up as well. But I think I might wait a bit before playing that one.

Do you like Adewale enough to play his DLC Freedom Cry? I love Ezio (especially his boots which I am wearing in Odyssey ) and the history and settings but I find the combat and gameplay mechanics a chore. Well worth playing once though to get the history and background. I started with AC3 which I really liked even though it wasn't that popular and even jumping back from that to AC2+Brotherhood+ Revelations was a struggle. If you can get AC3 and if you are interested in the AC story and the American War of Independence and some minor Native American history I'd recommend it.

LOL yeah they are, especially Kenway!!!!!!!! Do you like Adewale enough to play his DLC Freedom Cry? Ade arguably had the best VA in the game. I'll see if I want to get into the DLC in a few days. I just wrapped up the main game and I'm a bit burnt out on it at the moment. I have the AC3 Remasterd as well, though I've only played a partway through before jumping on to something else. I think I might actually finish that first then before trying AC2.
