Guys are saying console version is even cheaper on u-play or psn. I did not check though.
Also, got a Ubi e-mail saying:
The 12 Deals of Christmas has started, and you can get up to 75% off select titles and merchandise now through December 18!
Make sure to check the Ubisoft Store every day for new promotions!
So far they have other games for 60-65 off for the next few days. Lol.

All my AC games are on Uplay so will probably get it there, I can get 20% off anytime on Uplay I have so many credits and I also have a 20% discount voucher. Have waited this long might as well wait a bit longer and see if it gets a decent discount at Christmas

I used to really like Assassin's Creed. I always wanted an AC title that takes place from 1905 to 1925. I put a bit of thought into the idea, too.
A bolt-action rifle on his back, sword in a sheath on his belt, with knifes, a sai, a hidden blade in his gauntlet, and a sawed-off shotgun as his sidearm.
A spiritual Assassin whom is neutral during WWI, yet takes jobs from both sides of the conflict. Someone whom is heavily against the British Empire, and does not trust the German Empire. Someone with no experience with politics, has no friends, is a little bit of an outcast in the Assassin Creed Order, is not the best, yet gets the job done, and is a bit of a drifter. The reason I came up with a loner with mild skills, is because I want to see how an Assassin without contacts, friends, and or support, handles things. How would a relatively inexperienced person handle and overcome obstacles in a world that also just fell into a state of war?
Assassin's Creed has been about the Assassin's and their brotherhood, or the Templars and their order. What if one takes away the brotherhood?
Also, WWI and the 1920s, simply because I find early 20th Century interesting.
I know noir had not really been invented yet, but I also pictured some noir elements, too. A romance sub-plot, fog in the streets of London, rain over trenches of Europe, snow falling in the night skies of Russia, murky skies over Paris, spot lights searching the night sky. The game would be dark -- black almost -- and with an ambient emotional soundtrack.
... I know nobody asked for what I would want, but I did not know what else to post on this thread, ha.

1905 to 1925 would be a good period for a decent AC with a Russian protagonist. It covers multiple revolutions, starting with the massacre of the peaceful demonstration during the Bloody Sunday, multiple wars, both in the east and in the west, and culminating in the civil war, and the politics and the factions are so intricate, and switches of the alliances are mind-boggling, so literally everything is possible. Way better than focusing it on (groan) Anastasia the way they did in Chronicles. But I don’t know an AC can manage that time period, it’s probably still too recent to not stir emotions if not done in a one-sided way.

So yesterday was eventful in AC Rogue. Started off sinking a few MoW's as I liked there names and wanted them in my fleet then got on with pushing the story forward. Basically lots of killing, first Hope which allowed me to get the last Animus Fragment and Treasure Chest, then Chevalier and then Liam. I am so glad the later games have moved away from some of the mechanics in this AC Game like the chasing, seriously I chased Hope over half of NY I think, then the stupid chasing again with Liam. Its just boring Then the scene after Liam's death with Achilles which was really good, it was good seeing Achilles admit that he was wrong and then Shay intervening with Haytham and seeing how broken Achilles was. It made his meeting with Connor in AC3 so much more understandable. So if for no other reason this game has been good for that alone. It would probably be too much work but it'd be great if you could play future games as either a Templar or an Assassin. It would probably be a nightmare too in terms of ongoing storyline etc but it has been fun seeing things from the other side. I think the Morrigam has jumped ahead of The Jackdaw in terms being my favourite:

Got through sequence 5 in Brotherhood. It consisted of a couple of stealth-trailing missions. One of which had me really frustrated because Ezio kept being spotted (yeah, Ezio, that was all his fault, obviously). But I was treated for a lovely scene with Cezare in the end. I think I now play the game for the sake of seeing Cezare... Got a little into sequence 6, just arrived at the barracks to see Bartolomeo under attack from Valua forces.

So finished Rogue today and overall I enjoyed it. Loved the big reveal at the end that ties the game to Unity. Downloading Origins right now and looking forward to starting it tomorrow. Element Zero thanks for the suggestion of playing Rogue and be prepared for lots of questions re Origins

I actually like trailing and stealth missions even when they drive me bonkers. It’s really the only time Ezio does become an assassin. Went through sequence 6. Ha-ha, when Ezio is asked which part of France he is from thanks to his da Firenze accent, he replies Montreal, and they let them through. Cute Easter egg.

Hey @carefull you played Origins didn't you? Did you play with KB+M and if so did you re-map the key bindings? I just started and the key bindings are a struggle for me, just wondering if you did change them what you changed them to. I am thinking of changing: ALT (Climb) to SHIFT SHIFT (Shield) to Q Q to P I don't like how I have to hit C to crouch, why doesn't Bayek auto do that like in the games before? And why do I have to hit F to assassinate instead of just LMB?

I feel Unity had the best controls, animations, visuals and gameplay of the series. If Unity had Origins' combat, they could stand pat for the next decade and I'd be happy. I didn't like the Souls-style controller layout, and immediately switched to the alternate option. It felt pretty good, aside from the vaguely awkward Overpower (?) combo (Square + Triangle).

Well I have just reached Level 6 still in Siwa. I am hating the combat and struggling with the controls, ALT is just a stupid key to have to use for something you do frequently. I haven't changed the key bindings as when I tried it told me it could "Damage" the game..... Anyway at Level 3 I took down a temple with a main character (level 5 and minions ranging from 2 to 4) in it without realising it but I am just hacking and slashing with minor stealth thrown in. "E" is supposed to allow me to block but it has not worked once yet so I must be timing it terribly but given how good I am at combat in the older games and using "E" to block and counter it doesn't make sense. Not sure if it is just PC but there seems to be an interminable number of auto saves and loading screens even in the middle of cut scenes. Overall not really enjoying playing atm, also the map is dreadful baby shit brown with some white on it. The "Animus Pulse" is also boring and it needs to highlight things for longer and some info about the things it has found would be useful. I like Senu but it is a terrible time waster, eagle vision was fine igf you ask me. Anyway hopefully it gets better as you go and as I master the controls.

I'm not sure how applicable my PS4 advice will be, but here's how blocking and parrying works on console. Blocking requires only that you hold the block button. Bayek raises the shield and automatically blocks. Parrying requires a timed action and creates an opening. (It also often triggers legendary item qualities.) Couod it be that you should for holding E, instead of just pressing it? I had no issues with loads, saves and interrupted scenes. Again, I'm playing on PS4 Pro. One thing the game has in spades is beautiful environments. Even the deserts are great. Again, PS4 Pro, so I'm not sure if it's a hardware difference or what. I didn't really like Senu for a while. I missed eagle senses from the earlier games. Eventually, I got used to using Senu and no longer thought about it. Her ability to spot things quickly and accurately vastly improves as you visit more viewpoints. "Blind Senu" is one thing I wish I could skip via a NG+ mode. I also wish they'd found a way to explain her bond with Bayek. Ashraf said such a story sequence was intended, but got cut to improve the flow of the game. I never disliked the combat, but I was undecided about it for a time. During my first PT, I started to appreciate it. I think it's by far the best combat of the series. I never really liked the super-easy counter-fest of earlier games. Some of the animations were cool, but there was no challenge. This combat also becomes super-easy with experience and good gear; but that's what Nightmare is for, hopefully.

Its using ALT to climb and "C" to climb down that are the most hassle because it is counter to every other AC game but It'll probably just take time to adapt. I am old so my ability to adapt is diminishing In terms of graphics I have a good card and all is set to high so there is nothing wrong with the quality. Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the reply Hopefully you'll be more impressed as the game advances. Level 6 in Siwa is about as early as it gets! I've never seen a more impressive, interactive open world; so I suspect your visual experience will improve. It sounds like you're trying to parry, if it's skill-based. Blocking is as simple as holding up the shield. (I rarely parry, as it's too much trouble for me to be bothered. It's very effective, though, if you're good at it.) Does PC offer a "legacy" (?) controls layout? I had no interest in the new controller setup. It's not an exact match to past games, since that would be impossible. It's pretty similar, though. It's a shame if PC doesn't offer a similar option.

I don't bother with blocking & parrying. Fast in and out.
The 'charged' attack is my 'go-to'. If I time it right I'm in there without being hit myself and I break their defense ahead of a killing blow.

I think I'd get murdered if I never blocked, particularly by archers firing into melee. Enemies gang up, too, and flank pretty well. (Reminds me of the cool skill that allows Bayek to put those blocked arrows into his quiver post-combat. Cool skill. It's pretty easy to keep the quiver fill in this game.)

I can't remember now where I picked up various weapons: For a long time I used: - Mustapha's Blade, which has instant changing.
- Vox Populi has too.
- Coast of Russicada is my current go-to sword as it has health on hit.
- Supported by my Composite Bow (Light Bow) which is also health on hit.
Bear in mind, I'm quite patient and stealthy, so fights tend to be in the Arena, on the road, or when my stealth mucks up. I can take out 6-8 foes by stealth, so a fight is usually 5 or fewer enemies. In combat, wherever possible I'll hit and run, dealing with archers first and tanks last. Breaking sight, if possible, and circling the fight for another attack.

I just got that arrow perk, I am just hunting at the moment as I sold all my stuff accidentally. The way it asks you do you want to sell all made it sound like in MEA where it is just junk but alas no. Is charged attack where you hold down LMB? I am doing as much stealth as I can to avoid combat but the removal of insta death on assassinations makes it harder. I really do hate the new combat it just isn't intuitive for me and I have to stop concentrating on the enemy I am fighting to think about what keys I have to press. So I have set the game to easy and I am just hacking and slashing my way through otherwise I'd just stop playing. I have never been a fan of combo's etc and that was the worst part of Syndicates combat for me. I also dislike having to use F to assassinate just feels wrong having to take my fingers of WASD.
