AC3 Deluxe Edition is only $16-95 AUD on Uplay for 1 day and 9 more hrs and its normally $49-95 if you have Uplay. I'd have actually played AC Rogue before AC in all honesty, AC3 takes place after the events of AC Rogue. True, but Rogue leads directly into Unity; and some characters bridge the Colonial series. Given the choice, I’d experience them in the order released. Putting Rogue before AC3 would ruin some major character introductions. Fair enough, I have forgotten a lot about Unity as I only played it once on release as DAI was releasing and I wanted to play that more than Unity

So today in AC Rogue I seemed to do very little, every time I thought I'll do this or that something else would pop up wherever I was to do. Essentially the main thing I did was start clearing the North Atlantic map and decided on focusing on doing the Forts/Gang towns which were stopping the renovation missions appearing. I got through only 3 as some of the forts had lots of collectibles to do and I wanted to focus on clearing places so I didn't have to go back. That plan fell apart as I have decided to refuse to do the Assassin Interceptions if I leave them till last I'll end up doing them just to make the map all blue. I am not that interested in the reward for completing that anyway. That being said I found the last Viking sword piece and ran around wearing this for a while:

And, yep, Steam was good, and refunded. Now Ubi better come through, and that way I might end up with a full sequence between AC1 to BF after x-mas sales if AC3 gets discounted. That’s if Rogue comes after BF. Now, I just need time to play! AC3 Deluxe Edition is only $16-95 AUD on Uplay for 1 day and 9 more hrs and its normally $49-95 if you have Uplay. I'd have actually played AC Rogue before AC in all honesty, AC3 takes place after the events of AC Rogue. Assassin's Creed 3 is normally $19.99 CND on Steam, so on steam sale, it will eventually drop right down to those $11 (when 50% off) they refunded for me from the BF, so I will be able to fill the gap in my line-up. That's providing Ubi does give away the BF. Fingers crossed.

So in AC Rogue I am trying to progress the naval missions that Shay's fleet do and am currently on 14 of 33, just wondering what destinations count towards this as I have done a lot more than 14 missions?

I think it tells you on the screen. New trade ports must be accessed and used. It's partially gated by missions done, but mostly by timeline/story progression. It's another part of the game with weird pacing. Fun game, needs polish.

You also mentioned something about a surprise in the Old Growth Forest I have cleared that but not sure I found anything other than the Native Armor??? No surprise. I just recommended that you have the location scouted in advance of those missions that visit it. It could be a pain if you went in unacquainted and with a "greyed-out" map. I was about to post some feelings on AC Origins. I logged in and defeated Sekhmet on both of my saves. It took mere minutes. It was fun to see the beautiful visuals, experience some weather, and receive new items. Then, after just minutes, it was back to having absolutely nothing to do in all of Egypt. This game desperately needs NG+. I have no desire to abandon all my (twice) hard earned gear and progress. If I want to do anything at all, though, that's precisely what is required. Huge, open world games should have NG+ by default. The grind for barely used late-game gear and skills otherwise becomes tedious. They can't even cry "lore inconsistencies" with this game. I can buy their silly packs and ride around Egypt on a undead flaming horse; a horse wearing Isu armor/barding; use Isu weaponry during the introductory fights; etc... Lore is not a real concern. Bayek is already a heroic character from the start. This isn't a child to hero story, as in Ezio's or Connor's tales. Starting at Level 40 would have no detrimental effect on the narrative. Now that enemy-scaling is soon to be implemented, there's absolutely no reason not to have NG+. I guess I'll keep waiting to play until it's added.

So yesterday in Rogue I cleared all the collectibles and renovations in the Atlantic except for the main story and Fort De Sable. As I was searching the icons that were still white I found one I had completely missed and did a perfect fort clearance that had 3 key holders not getting seen once and killing every guard by stealth Got the last cave painting and got this armor, not sure I am a fan. One thing that always amazes me is just how awful some of the armor is not just in AC but in games in general. There are some outfits where I am just, yeah that looks alright but I find it hard to imagine my character wearing it and there are some where I am my god that is awful With stuff like the Native American armor it'd be great if you did a mission along side the Oneida or something but its sure gonna make you a target to Assassins anywhere else you wear it. Did The quest with Haytham and Captain Cook to thwart Adewale, which felt kind of wrong But as an Australian the Captain Cook cameo was fun After seeing Achille's looking so much younger at the opening of ACR I assumed that it was set much earlier than only 2 years before AC3. I couldn't understand how Haytham looked the same as at the beginning of AC3 but having just checked the timeline it now makes sense

I agree, any game that you have to put more than 75 hours into and where you put so much effort into collecting and crafting weapons you are right NG+ should be default. Its weird Ubi/AC hasn't got this yet when most of the other AAA games have, like TW3 and ME3 and MEA. Its just a practical thing as much as anything, my first MEA took 120hrs and I probably would have played one maybe two more times again if I had to start over. But NG+ I think I was fully completing the game in 70hrs and able to experiment rather than grind and ended up playing 9 more times. I hope Ubi are getting that feedback.

dazk , Achilles really falls apart after Rogue. I guess it makes some sense, given events. Also, we don't see him until Ratonhnhké:ton is in his teens. I guess that's plenty of time to go from aging to old. It was cool to see Adewale's story come full circle. I own Freedom Cry, so I'm especially fond of him. If only someone other than Shay could've taken a stand with Achilles, much could've been different. It was like watching Dumb and Dumber during the confrontation upon Shay's return.

But NG+ I think I was fully completing the game in 70hrs and able to experiment rather than grind and ended up playing 9 more times. I hope Ubi are getting that feedback. ME always had it, so it was something I always expected. Really, though, it's not yet that common a feature. TW3 had it added. HZD had it added. I hope ACO has it added. There are skills and tons of gear that cannot even be gained until very late in ACO. Chariots, camels and horses are your means of conveyance. Chariots, though, cannot initially be purchased. The hurdle isn't even financial. Apparently, "chariot purchasing" is a skill. Not only that, but in the world of ACO it's an expensive skill with many prerequisites. (Such an odd design choice.) The best shields start appearing very near the end of the game, granting little time to enjoy them. All weapons and shields need to be constantly upgraded, meaning that they often trail behind your character level until you reach level 40. All baseline gear starts out in pretty shabby shape, including the hidden blade. You must upgrade the hidden blade; your quiver; two separate bracers (melee and ranged damage); and your armor with materials found/stolen during your adventure. It makes sense; but I'd love to be freed from that grind in a NG+. I always thought replaying a memory sequence sucked, but some enjoyed it. That isn't present in ACO, since it's an open world adventure game sans memory sequences. This means the only way to enjoy something a second time is to replay the entire game. Seriously, put NG+ at the top of the update list, Ubi.

Good point, I didn't take Ratonhnhké:ton age into account Yeah you could tell by Achille's disposition at the start of AC3 that he was a broken man. I liked Freedom Cry as well, I can't remember why but it wasn't a game I wanted to play again, I liked the plantation missions but the slave ship rescue missions annoyed me for some reason. "If only someone other than Shay could've taken a stand with Achilles, much could've been different. Element Zero should I do Fort De Sable before advancing the story anymore or it something best done at the end? Also I am fully upgraded re The Morrigan, is that time to try a legendary ship? If so which one do you recommend starting with, my naval combat used to be top notch but it has been a bit inconsistent in this game. Have taken down some level 49 MoW's but not sure if they are top level or not. You know what annoys me about the naval combat in Rogue, the goddam smoke from the cannons. I know its cold but at sea its windy I really think it lingers way too long.

My favorite sails and wheel come from that side mission. I can't recall the legendary vessels in detail. I do remember one that was scarily badass, but not which was which. I like the lingering smoke. I felt like it added realism. Black Flag had it on PS4, but not on Xbox 360. (I have owned it on both platforms.)

Damn was hoping for some tips re the legendary ships, will google it. Yeah I had no trouble with three of them in BF but one took me about ten attempts and I needed it to get 100% synch The smoke was in BF on PC but the volume and lingering effect was probably about 20% of Rogue's cannon smoke.

I have managed to get to Sequence 5 in brotherhood via stealing Machine Gun plans and then doing multiple takes on a chariot race until I finally figured out how to aim machine gun. I might have been better off with a contemporary muzzle loading cannon for both the precision and firing speed... heh, god vividly reminded of the Civil war...

I gotta admit, this "Gladiator Pack" stuff looks cool. I'd love to have a trident. The weapons in this game are so oversized, though. It's annoying. Plus, I'm sure Bayek will swing and slash away with it. More importantly, I won't spend $10-15 for a few items when I payed $50+ dollars for the entire 80hrs+ game. I initially defended the Uplay Store content as "not that bad". It seemed mostly in line with MET weapon packs and the like. Charging $15 for 4 items, though, is reprehensible. They think their customers are idiots. Likely many are, or they'd not get away with this crap. The customers who bought the Season Pass don't even get this stuff. They get 2 items packs as part of the pass; but not these packs that seem to be released every two weeks. Ubi is fortunate that other publishers' lootboxes are presently catching all the grief. This nonsense would've gotten ACO unjustly trashed in another time and place. The game is good, and these items superfluous; but that doesn't mean that this crap isn't a bit sleazy.

So today in AC Rogue the game finally gave me some grief which I am disappointed about. I checked the database and there is no mention of the James Gunn collectibles that I can find so I assumed I have collected all the crosses as I have nothing outstanding anywhere except Kings Farm in NY which is still blue but there are no icons. Went to Fort De Sable and played it stealthy and killed all the guards except 3 and as I approached them Shay got stuck and could not move, so Desynch and have to do the whole damn thing again, no stealth this time run and kill. Slaughter everybody and go to the tower where the James Gunn Armor icon is and the game tells me I haven't got all the crosses but I cannot find anywhere that it tells me how many I am short. So decide I don't care loot all the other stuff and low and behold I notice that the fort still thinks I am in combat and cannot fast travel so I can't leave. Run around for ages and then find a spot where I can dive into the ocean and I am able to swim to the Morrigan. Still have no idea where I have missed a cross or even if I have, if someone can tell me it'd be appreciated. Then I have to kill Adewale, that was not fun. To top it off I wasn't supposed to kill anyone as an optional objective but it never told me. I then have to steal some gang guys uniforms, its ludicrous I have to chase these guys for there gear as I literally run past there mates just standing on the street. Then I have to rob the treasury in NY and the amount of time is ludicrous and the lock pick animations take so long I cannot see how you can possibly loot all chests and get the lockpick optional objectives, I hate timed missions. Anyway that was enough for the day, I am annoyed with it as it left me feeling angry

It would be interesting to know how many they sell, I seriously cannot believe people would pay that much for 4 pieces of gear in a game, just ridiculous.

I'm annoyed that outfits which should be earned in-game by leveling and exploring have been moved to the Uplay store to 'earn' with your Uplay points or buy with real money. It makes for stingy rewards and a lack of customization overall. Even the number of gadgets seems limited to me. I probably shouldn't be comparing it to proper RPGs in this regard. At least the game makes up for it in other ways. I continue to enjoy just exploring and running into random stuff, like a lone bandit among dead lions and comrades, just standing there looking at the carnage. Or a hippo that wiped out 5 crocs. Lots of loot to be had just by running into kills made by NPCs and animals.

Imagine the good will they'd be lappining up if these packs were simply being added to the game, CDPR-style. I'm sure they're content to be swimming in foolish persons' money instead. It's the prices I can barely believe. $5 for an entirely cosmetic outfit; $2.50 for a weapon; etc... Those are the prices I'd have expected for entire bundles, had you told me they weren't going to be free DLC.
The game is really beautiful, and the world very alive. I'm stuck in a spot between wanting to play, but not wanting to grind through the entire game, again. I'm eager for new content. In the meantime, I'm sure I'll start playing again.
