Yeah I honestly cannot see myself playing this game even twice, just because its so big and I am by nature a completionist plus unlike DAI or MEA there are no different relationships to try or different build combos to try other than different weapons. It was the same for TW3 the games are actually too big, I'd really like a longer more detailed story arc and fewer side missions or for the side missions to contribute to the main story more meaningfully. I have a stream of MEA screenshots as my desktop background and it is like a siren's call making me want to play again. I almost decided to do a few hrs yesterday as I started a new NG+ up to being on EOS first time round. But ACO has its claws pretty well sunk into me now Yeah I am so over the money grabbing. I think this what ruins franchises when companies like EA take over. They are about profit, studios are about making something they want to make, how they want to make it and that they "hope" others will enjoy and if it turns a profit yay. Must be a big source of friction and balancing of goals and priorities which always cruels the final product. I'm a completionist, too, and quickly went through it twice. I just do not have any desire to do so again right now. If there were a NG+ that allowed me to enjoy all of my (twice) hard-earned loot and skills, I'd probably be playing it now. The grind to do the same things, re-earning the same rewards, in such a huge game... Ugh. Silly tangent incoming. They really missed an opportunity to add a legendary chariot via the First Civilization Pack. Instead of an oddly armored horse, I think they should've done a chariot. It could've featured spectral horses of "hard light". It would've been like an armored, 1C BCE Segueway. (Google provides a perfect image, linked below! ) The Isu stuff feels totally out of place, as no one reacts to its frightening appearance. They could've added something sort of cool and definitely useful with a chariot. As it is, weird looking horse is weird. Locking the ability to purchase chariots behind skill investment is a very strange, illogical design choice. Maybe they wouldn't have wanted to undermine this weird skill? I don't know. Purchasing legendary mounts is skill dependent, yet they offer a bevy of those for $. One of my Bayeks skipped the chariot skill entirely, as will most future saves. It's pretty useless and entirely ridiculous. Just add spectral, "holographic" horses of hard light! Would make a good profile pic

So I picked up Origins back during Target's black Friday sales (yay 20$ games) and I finally attempted to play it and... This is the first AC game (I have played every main iteration except for Rogue)where I have started it without having any idea who the protagonist is (including AC3). I know his name, I know he's a priest, but why is he murdering people? What is his background? What is his favorite color?! It doesn't help that I find the combat to be even clunkier than usual either.

I knew what to expect, and I still had to piece together what was happening in the opening moments of the game. They decided to jumble the sequence of events, and their retelling, for some strange reason. I'd suggest giving the combat a long try before getting too down on it. It's a big departure, but most seem to grow to like it. It has a lot of depth and variety once you unlock skills and acquire more weapon types. I hope you enjoy it. Smart man being patient and grabbing it for $20!

It's very hit box and timing dependent. There's some nuances you have to figure out on your own. I find it vastly superior to the past games.

So its hard to summarise yesterdays events in ACO yesterday, I completed lots of side quests and strayed way too far on a couple of occasions exploring interesting sights and scenery and hunting animals to the point I was way out of my depth combat wise. I wandered into a Roman camp and forgot to set the trap at the warning beacon and next thing I have Phylake 6 levels higher rank than me taking out a 3rd of my health every hit so I cheesed it and ran and realised he was so slow I could run backwards continuously shooting fire arrows into him. Had to run and find more arrows whilst avoiding other soldiers but after about 50 arrows I finally took down my first Phylake. The disappointing part was I had turned to see where I was going when he fell, so missed seeing him die. Then I had a glitch with a quest where I had to kill a captain, loot some treasure and destroy a chariot. Killed the chariot rider, killed the captain, found the loot and went back to destroy the chariot and some bastard had stolen it. I look on the map and it is 5km away in an area that hasn't been revealed, so I thought damn it I'll go get it. Get on my horse ride and ride slaughtering animals as I go and end up at a Pyramid and the chariot shows on the map that I am right on top of it but it is 3km away underground!!!!!! So I decided to climb the pyramid and synch the area then fast travelled back to where I'd been and there is the chariot right where it was supposed to be but the fort was populated again. Saved a priest, saved a wannabe philosopher who wants to write Bayek's story and observed topless women roaming the streets So a few pics: Bayek's Tinder profile picture: His back up Tinder profile pic: A man needs a pet (I love Senu after originally not being impressed with the mechanic): Senu in action: And what's with the topless beach and these women roaming Alexandria? Was that a thing back then, I have not studied this era in Egypt:

Kaidan Fan, I'm a lover of elephants, too. When it's timed to fight and kill animals in games, I have to be immersed. Those elephants have been ruined by the romans, trained for bloodlust and killing. That's what lets me kill them without feeling badly. That, and I never think about it too hard. They were simply five big beasts standing between me and a trophy. Senu is so cool. I figured out how to pet and feed her on PS4. There is no instruction for this in the "controls" screen, at least not for the alternative mapping. Some of my best pics include Senu, or are taken from Senu's lofty perspective.

But it's going to be a long while from now Edit: Found it! It's the Y button on Xbox controller and E for Kb+M.

For the mapping I chose, it's the X button-- the same button used for assassinations. This is according to my hazy recollection from last month. Google can probably confirm or correct this.

Hey Kaidan Fan I believe with KB+M when Senu lands on you when you are just standing around talking or whatever you just have to hit "E" but I haven't tried it.

So I wrote a long post about yesterday and added pics then accidentally closed the internet instead of windows explorer So in short, progressed the main story up to meeting Apollodorus, met Claridis who isn't Claridis and got drunk and had a fist fight. Did lots of side missions and was excited to retrieve a special spear for a blacksmith that he said I could keep but it was nowhere near as good as my other weapons but Reda was kind and rewarded me with a legendary sword with health on hit Had a lovely scene between Aya and bayek but not sure why Bayek had to keep just his quiver on????? Bayek with quiver: Aya: "Bayek can you lose the quiver please?" Bayek: "If I have to"

I just read an article that attributes AC:O's "free-form climbing" to Zelda BotW. First of all, they were in development at the same time. Secondly, parkour, climbing, etc... is absolutely something the AC series popularized in the industry. Lastly, I know many skipped AC Unity because it was bugged badly for a few days after launch, but parkour/climbing has been free-form since Unity. Nice try, though. 😒

I read a post, via YouTube, in which a dev said they're looking into ways to potentially incorporate NG+ into AC Origins. I hope it works, and that they do it well. I feel like any game of this length and type should have NG+.
Great price, @witchy. I hope you enjoy it.

I wish horde mode was more in depth. It's fun, but they clearly didn't put much effort into it. The score system is static, and feedback on how well you play is completely absent. Compare it to what the Arkham games did or Witcher 2 arena, and it's a pretty mundane effort. I feel this is the underlying problem with Ubisoft - they aren't fully committed to anything, design wise. That extends to innovation. They clearly have the talent, I just wonder if these devs are restricted by time and resource constraints.
