Greece popping up again? Rumors about Greece as next setting were on the air a while back, interesting, may be true. I guess at this point anywhere on the planet would work for an AC, just never again go to the Americas, please...
I'll go and join the baby rage for, WHERE'S MY JAPAN, MAN?? That would be so cool, although hidden blades would be kinda dumb unless you play as a Geisha or something.
I don't know. Pretty much all AC heroes so far carried swords or similar weapons openly and still had the hidden blade. Wouldn't be much different in a japan setting, I think.
The "news" is interesting. Last time I heard the Greece rumor, they said it would play about 100 years after Origins. Now it's a direct sequel (which actually makes more sense to me, we still didn't see Amunet's big moment with youknowwho). I did expect them to do another game with the same general theme. It's just very efficient in terms of asset re-use and whatnot (and they did it on almost every AC before).
Still, I am sure a far eastern AC will be happening eventually. People seem to demand it over and over again, me included.

I will only accept the hidden blades as tanto's, otherwise no buy (I'm joking). Playing as a Ronin could be kinda cool and an excellent excuse to equip ourselves with everything we want. Greece makes sense, even more so if it's gonna be a sequel since Origins took part after Alexander "freed" Egypt from the Persians, and that's why they embraced the Greek culture, well some of them at least.
Slightly different topic, but I heard on comments around the web that an AC in Rome wouldn't work because of Origins?? I think Rome doesn't have much of a presence at all in Origins, so I don't get it. And even if they do have a more heavy presence, so does Greece and that's why, as I've said, Greece as the new AC makes sense.

If this is true I will jump up and down with excitement, I LOVE Bayek and would love to play as him again. I have zero desire to play as Aya, I don't even care if I see her again, though I'm guessing we will. I hope they got a more personable MD protagonist as well.
Also, I have don't have any desire to see the Japan AC that everyone has been asking for for about 126 yrs Seriously, what is the big deal? I was way more stoked for Egypt and even more so for Greece.

Plus, Japan before China?
Come on now...
Stating the obvious probably since before you came to BSN.
IGN says Bayek won't be the protag. This seems very fast turn over, even for an Asscreed game. I wonder if part of the extra year was simply spent making this sequel. Also, dialog options. I'm down with that.

Because us westerners are fascinated by feudal Japan, that's why. And also China, because we don't even know a lot about, but oh my fucking god their armor and weapons are beautiful.

Wow. I'm surprised. After AC Rogue Remaster I assumed we wern't getting another one this year.
I know that there's some crossover development with the AC games, but I agree this feels surprisingly early. Hopefully it's not something they're just rushing out the door...

Still hyped though!
I shouldn't be surprised either, but I certainly wasn't expecting either. At least not this year. I feel like Ubisoft did a hell of a lot better job with the leaks this time. As it turns out that Walmart leak has been 100% accurate. At least it came around E3 and not before.

I ...am a westerner. But it's no matter. I actually came back to say it was extremely rude of me to say I didn't know what the big deal was. People have interest in other time periods and such than me just as I liked Egypt more than others may have and I apologize.
I'm pretty sad if we're not getting Bayek though *pouts in corner*
ETA: I read that IGN article (smacks self). It says we can choose to play a male or female assassin? and that it will offer dialogue choices? I don't mind getting to pick male or female, but I don't know if I like turning my focused story/action-adventure game into an RPG, even though I love them. I guess I'm just old and set in my ways, I liked AC how it was going. *shrug*

Nah, It's fine. And it wasn't rude btw. I like Egypt too, but I like it more pre-Greeks, since they had more "personality" so to speak. After Alexander they tried to mimic Greek culture too much and lost a bit of their own identity.

I seriously doubt it will be on par with a full blooded RPG. All the RPG elements in Origins are streamlined, I'm guessing dialog options will be too.

Translating the text from French website Jeuxvideo-live, the site claims the information comes from a leaker named Articblue, who's had reliable information in the past, as well as information obtained by the site's own editors. The site claims that Odyssey is a "sequel" to Assassin's Creed Origins set in ancient Greece, with Bayek reprising his role as the lead hero. This means Bayek joins Ezio as a recurring hero in the Assassin's Creed franchise.
- Awesome (if true)! I just hope we'll also get to have more time with Aya/Amunet in this one.
Is anyone old enough to understand if I said maybe the protagonists name will be "Abe"?
Looks beautiful scenic wise. Last one is obviously Leonidas explaining where they at. I've seen a picture in VG247 for dialogue choice? the fuck? are they introducing dialogue options in the game?

That's according to the 4chan leak, yeah.
It seems that Assassin's Creed is going to continue to morph into an RPG series.
I have mixed feelings about it all.
