This one takes place (or start?) at 431 B.C, so what was Origins time span?

Huh. I might actually get this. Feels strange to say that about an AC game. What has the world come to?

The name Assassin's Creed Odyssey is pretty on the nose considering it makes a reference to, well, the Odyssey.

The last few AC games have really knocked it out of the park and gotten me back into the franchise. I loved AC1 to bits but they went down hill from there. Syndicate and Origins were both a great deal of fun and I am really looking forward to Odssey.

Watched some gameplay and one criticism I have is the fighting/parkour animations are definitely not as fluid as origins.

To be fair Orgins had the same problems, when it first premiered. I'm sure Ubisoft will have everything tighten up before release.

So, will we be getting gay romances this game? Kassandra looks like Angie Harmon who played a detective in the tv show Rizzoli and Isles

Looks like Assassin's Creed is taking a Dragon Age 2 approach to romance. By making all potential love interests playersexual. I wonder will Ubisoft catch any blowback like Bioware did.

Playersexual allows the most access/ What is also does, however, is restrict (or at least make harder) storyline based or involving the difference of sexualities. When it comes to flirting, its easy to make NPCs playersexual. I'd almost say cheap. But not necessarily poor. The more narrative roleplaying the game is, the less I support playersexual. The less narrative roleplaying/more action-adventure the game is, the more I support playersexual. You want me to fall more in love with your characters, you don't make them playersexual. Sure the love may happen, but I appreciate the texture of Cullen being straight, or Dorian being gay. The DA2 playersexual has its good side, absolutely, but I also felt more that they were standins for my necessary romance option instead of characters to then decide to romance.

The time period is a turn off for me. Spartans, ugh. Buuut the trailer is very good, gotta admit.
I haven't played Origins yet despite liking the setting. Simply because getting only halfway through Syndicate before getting bored with the gameplay (story was nice though) again has reminded me that I don't really like AC that much...
I have my doubts the new approach is so radically different that I wouldn't get bored AGAIN. So this is a 15 bucks on sale title for me. When Origins gets really cheap I'll probably give it a shot first.

The DA2 playersexual has its good side, absolutely, but I also felt more that they were standins for my necessary romance option instead of characters to then decide to romance. Weeeeell, if I’m allowed to get tediously historical about it, ancient Greeks and premodern societies in general usually had no concept of “gay” or “straight,” that some guys like guys and some guys like girls and so on. Guy on guy sex is something you did, not something you were, and a guy saying “I’m into guys” wouldn’t have been more meaningful than one today saying that he’s into blondes, or petite women, or... you get the idea. My point is, a character telling you “no, sorry, I’m gay” would strike me as anachronistic in this time period. Thre’s a reason that (male) homosexuality was uniquely institutionalized in parts of Ancient Greece, even though there’s no reason why it should have been more commonplace than in any other time and place. That’s mostly cultural’ I’d say.

Played ACO and had enough substance to it so I will buy AC:Odyssey. None the less I feel sad. EA butchered Bioware to let it make streamlined micro transaction filled online games and other publishers copy and implement all Bioware ever lived for. Sigh....
Hope EA realizes the dragon age franchise is their last chance to pick up on the mistake of discarding SP RPG's.

You know what? If other developers keep compensating for Bioware's slack, then I am ok with Bioware doing boring looter-shooters. Go Ubiware, CDPR, Spiders, Dontnod!!!
