It's kind of weird to say this, but I actually prefer Assassin's Creed Origins over The Witcher 3, and the reason is actually pretty simple. Origins just has the better world. Hear me out. I am aware of how massive and diverse the World of The Witcher 3 is, containing entire kingdoms for you to explore with small villages and a sense that the world feels lived in. However, I found that getting around the world was a pain. Your GPS had that dotted line that was pretty unreliable for leading you to objectives and also distracted me from properly enjoying the sights. The world is also pretty hard to navigate unless you're taking the roads. Traversing along cliffs and mountain sides were a pain because Geralt naturally wasn't a climber. It also doesn't help that I feel the game is forcing me to ditch the main story and go off the beaten path because leveling up in the game is so damn slow! With Origins, I felt I could properly enjoy the world I was exploring. For starters, there's no mini-map with dotted lines. You just have a marker that points in a vague direction that tells you how far it is, but you're allowed to take any route to that objective. I liked using the Follow Roads mechanic alot because instead of focusing on the road and trying not to run into anything, I can have the mount automatically go to my destination and take in the sights as I ride. I also found that the game felt like it was structured around the main narrative, which took me to pretty much all the major corners of Ancient Egypt, each with their own distinct feels, and the side quests were smaller side content that were fun but didn't take away from the main narrative, which is what SIDE MISSIONS are suppossed to be! I'm sure I would enjoy Odyssey's gameplay as well, especially the exploration mode which removes the marker and just has the player figure out where to go based on hints given to them. I think they are just completely different beasts. TW3 I don't remember ever having an issue travelling wherever I wanted and the environments made me want to go off the beaten track and explore and come across unexpected events and creatures. AC Origins suffered from its way too wonderful realistic beauty. It was pretty and easy to navigate but I found the landscapes bland in most cases. Story wise I'd lean towards TW3 too but it had the benefit of books and earlier games to build its lore etc. on. I enjoyed Bayek and Aya's story but it certainly wasn't riveting or something new or unique which Ithink TW3 was. Odyssey is probably closer to TW3 if I have to make a comparison than Origins and it is beautiful and the quests etc. have all been good so far. I have made a point of rarely using the horse and run everywhere because I like exploring every hill top, valley, forest, river and town. Plus its an easy way to collect crafting resources.

Is Syndicate bad? I've heard mixed reviews though from what I've seen I'll like it. I wouldn't say its bad but for me it is the worst iteration of an AC game, the protagonists were OK but the combat I hated and the story just didn't really grab me. And those damn carriages were and an absolute nightmare.

Liberation, don't say that word. It had a few good points but for the main part it was terrible on PC in terms of controls. I am one of the odd ones I liked AC3, AC4 Black Flag though is my favourite AC game. Element Zero I agree Unity was a good game and I enjoyed it, once it worked properly on PC. I think that is the main issue when it released on PC a lot of features they introdueced didn't work and distracted people from other aspects of the game like the great combat. That being said Arno was probably the worst AC protagonist ever in my opinion, I know you'll probably vote Connor. Yeah I might skip it this go around. Are you planning to skip Unity or AC3? AC3 hs been remastered and released for free with Odyssey. I can't wait to plain it again as I thought the US wilderness you got to explore was great and I look forward to see that it better quality but hopefully they have gotten rid of some of the QTE's. I wouldn't skip Unity either Paris is magnificently done, interesting NPC's and great outfits and combat.

I enjoyed AC Rogue. I finally could be a Templar. I am a bit surprised most of you don't like Syndicate. I enjoy the sibling dynamic. Jacob is more in your face, whereas Evie is more stealth. Also I enjoy some of the rpg components like choosing and upgrading skills. Also I enjoy Victorian London. Maybe it is because I was a fan of the Showtime series "Penny Dreadful". They both took place in Victorian era London. I liked Rogue too (thanks Element Zero fpr recommending it) but there was some silly gameplay in terms of some of the side missions that I really didn't like. I hate anything with a timer. I would loved to have played it before I played Unity though, that would have been great.

One is the physical collectors edition my ex girlfriend convinced me to buy. The other is from Steam. Though I own them I never played it due to the bugs that were reported. How is the game today? Have some or most of the bugs been fixed?

Is Syndicate bad? I've heard mixed reviews though from what I've seen I'll like it. It's one of my favourite AC games. I enjoyed what most people seem to hate about it - the rope, the carriages (Road Rage King!) and even the combat. But mostly the side quests. For me it's the first AC game to implement well crafted side quest storylines. And the Sherlock Holmes type bits were great.

I enjoyed so much the investigations that I couldn’t help buying some Sherlock Holmes games.

Why can't you fast travel in a red zone? Even though you're out of conflict? You were able to do that in past games.

I want to be able to just explore around the environment and take in the sights if I want to, and I find that it was harder to do in Witcher 3 than Origins for me at least. I guess it also matters that I'm more of a fan of desert or tundra landscapes and find forests so damn repetitive everywhere.

I now have Greek sailor songs stuck in my head. Pephka is my favorite region, the writers for that area have a great sense of humor. I lol'd through most of the quests.

Oh, yeah, I did that island right after I had to bring my Testikles to a certain big event I won't spoil. Wasn't planned, but it turned out I managed to do two light hearted and funny areas in a row. Really didn't want to go to sleep.
Did you get the...TREASURE of PEPHKA? Mooo!
I now have a crew of female athletes, dressed in small towels. Not my fault, I swear. And managed to find a couple of pieces of the Amazon set. Kassandra now looks like Wonder woman. I got better armor, but just don't want to switch.

I am sure I met Wonder Woman yesterday, AKA Daphne from the Daughters of Artemis. I can't believe she is going to string Kassandra along until L49 after flirting with her at level 14!!!! How did you get a crew of female athletes is it an in game reward for completing something? Yeah the Amazon set looks great I can understand you now wanting to change. I have warn the same set "Magnificent Mycaenean Armour" from L1 to 14 but changed for the first time yesterday as I got a really nice breast plate, upgraded it then got a damn legendary breast plate the very next mission I did. It doesn't look nearly as good as the other one but its a hell of a lot better and I need all the help I can get.

I didn't play at all yesterday as my main drive nosedived. The system is up now, I ran the game to make sure it can run but I've a lot of other stuff to iron out.
Definitely going to mosey more with side quests; need more resources, etc for upgrades and so on. I took a look at the store to see what nonsense is in there and dismissed it. If I were much much younger, green and wet behind the ears, yes, I would most likely buy something. But now. A bunch of pixels are just pixels. Can't take them with you, can't touch them, can't feel them, they're not alive and they're not eternal.

I do have an all lady crew now! Their voices are a nice change from the guys. I like the guys singing too, but it's nice to be able to change it up. @ dazk, I found my lady crew in the same place I found this cool spear just north of Thera in the middle of the ocean, but I'm not sure at what level it pops up on the map. I want to say 35 but it could be triggered by completing a quest.

Okay, I'm going to say this. When I eventually do play the game, I'm going to make my crew all female!
Also, I'm going to try and keep Kassandra straight. Not because have anything against playing a lesbian (quite the opposite), but I'm a little tired of myself forcing my female characters to be lesbian for the sake of it. Unless I personally see or feel a strong bond between them that is.

Sounds like there is one you can get from a ? on the map at sea but if you play on PC and have Uplay credits you can get a female Medjay/assassin crew I think for free or for 20 Uplay Credits and that is the crew I use.

Now that you mention it, every romance for Kassandra so far that I have experienced up to Level 15 and the areas around Megaris/Phokis have been females!!!!!
