Guy has childhood crush on girl who ends up with his brother. Conclusion, he is 100% hetero and will only like girls rest of his life?  How is that best defense? That's not even logical conclusion to draw. Or don't any bisexual guys and girls have childhood crushes? Do they always crush on boy and girl same time? I don't think the posts about it applied to me as well but just to clarify: I don't consider that to really be a case-closed argument against Jaal being bisexual. I've known people who've only been in relationships or in love with the opposite gender but who were bisexual. I just don't consider this to be the case with Jaal because, as I've said, he only flirts or exhibits an interest in the opposite gender. I'm one of the ones who was sure he was bi, but compared to Reyes romance with both Ryders, Jaal's romance is intended for a female. If he was ever going to be made bi, Scott would have to have a different romance. It would not work by just switching models. |

I'm one of the ones who was sure he was bi, but compared to Reyes romance with both Ryders, Jaal's romance is intended for a female. If he was ever going to be made bi, Scott would have to have a different romance. It would not work by just switching models. When I was spoiled on him and learned he was a romance during my blackout, I was actually hoping he'd turn out to be a bi romance. |

To be fair, Gamble is a dev. Taylorson is a VA. He was contracted by Bioware, but Gamble created the game. Actually it was PeeBee's writer and an interview with her voice actor. Vetra they slipped up with too, and then Tom revealed Jaal's sexual preference. Keeping the romances secret made a mess of things and confused a lot of people, voice actors included. |

I am yet to see it, so looking forward to it. Overall, one thing I am not that hot on is that the Tempest crew is dominated by the MW cast. I would have preferred it to be evenly split between the Andromeda and MW characters, so Jaal stops being such an oddity, and his romance being F-specific does not kill the mood for the Male PC, because there are other Angarans to build relationships with. For a game taking place in Andromeda, we are too MW-centric, imo. Maybe next game. |

This is like, everything I want from a m/m romance. I wouldn't call that girly, I would call it chivalrous and romantic. I would really like to receive love letters and to be twirled in a hunky alien mans arms. It doesn't make me less masculine, less of a man or anything if I get treated like this by a man, if that's what you are going after. Some dudes like to be given this kind of affection! But Jaal is definitely not the guy that should occupy this kind of romance slot for Scott. That ship has sailed. |

I feel like if he had recorded all the lines for a Scott romance he wouldn't have forgotten about it and casually referenced only ladies. Besides, I think he meant more than just the Sara romance stuff, like it was mentioned a number of times before Jaal has a lot of lines specifically related to his attraction to women and the effect he has on them - his compliments for Cora and Vetra, his flirting with Peebee, the angaran ladies interested in him on Aya. He's a bit of a ladykiller. |

Except it wasn't fully recorded nor were those lines implemented. There is nothing that I've seen that indicates that Jaal is anything but straight. There is more that indicates that he is straight as he exclusively flirts with female characters. Your argument could as easily be used as a case for why Sera should be made bisexual since she has recorded lines with a male Inquisitor. The reason for why these unused lines exist is, as far as I know, because the studio do not know what the writers intend ahead of time and so record lines with multiple genders. Apparently this is less expensive because it means they don't have to call voice actors back. Basically, it's simply a cost-saving measure and not an indication of a writer's previous plans in regards to a character. Ahhh, I didn't realize it wasn't fully recorded. For some reason I was under the impression that there was a full Scott romance already recorded but that they just didnt implement it due to timing or whatever. That... changes things then. I mean, it doesn't bother me if they do go make him bi - spread the love, I say - but there would be less incentive to do so if they haven't recorded lines for the romance. Meh. The funny thing is, I am still under the impression there are no lines at all - only indication in one script that "Scott" and "Jaal" do mentioned in one variable (for exactly the reason shechinah mentioned). The rest is something "everyone knows" aka "nobody saw". |

Jaal is mostly a teen romance, until you consummate. Then you get dirty talk! What I love about it, is both he and Sara are all awkward and youthful when dancing around their feelings, but once they finally confess and make love, they are so comfortable with each other and more mature afterward. They grew together. It's so natural! I dig it. I'm totally in love with Reyes right now but I'm really hoping Jaal will come in as a close second or tied. I love his character much more than I expected so I'm hoping his romance is up my alley. |
