As far as custom Alec's go that one is a pretty well done. As some other here have shown the disconnect can be far worse. I gotta agree...scott...sara....and alec all look asian to me... Not sure what the complaint is honestly. The one you pictured is the one I immediately thought of when I saw the OP. Its not a huge deal since you only see Alec's face a handful of times, but yeah for that pair of twins Ellen obviously had a little something going on Alec didn't know about. |

If you look at the Scott that matches the Sara, the dad looks like Scott. Take face 5 for Sara, take face 5 for Scott and dad will look like Scott's face 5. Alec will take the male face #X to match the face #X chosen by the character being played whether the played character is male or female. That's the thing. If you choose face 5 Sara and want to know how dad looks, just look at face 5 Scott. If you make Scott face 8 and play as Sara with face 5, dad will still look like face 5 Scott. That's why if you don't match the face numbers for the siblings, you get hilarious results, and the OP's Scott looks like dad, his custom Sara does not. Only the eyes match your custom Sara. It's pretty bad imo. |

Pretty sure Dad and Scott (of the same preset) share identical models with the exception of dad getting wrinkles added to his face texture to make him look older. I went with Alec and Scott of preset #2 and I noticed that while dad was giving a speech, one front lateral tooth was slightly higher than the other one. Found a screenshot of Scott screaming later on and he has the exact same teeth with one lateral tooth slightly higher.

Fine, added pics. I swear if someone says they look related  Um, your father has your Scott's face pretty much, but aged. Wouldn't exactly call either your Scott or Sara supermodel, so why would your dad be anyways. It's hard to have a supermodel in this game with the awful skin textures and hair graphics, anyways. Everything looks made of silly putty if it's not default Scott or squad mates because the skin textures for character creator assets are awful. More importantly, your dad looks way more like any of your siblings than default Alec looks like Scott or Sara anyways. |

In DA2, on the other hand, my F!Ryder ended up looking literally like a red-headed step-child, but that was intentional because I wanted my brother to be hot, so I modified a head that yielded Hottest Carver (for me) a lot. Then I went to Black Emporium and changed the head too. Lol. Carver, my secret crash. Same here! Otherwise I seemed to always get potato-est Carver. Thank god I mostly play rogues...  |

BUT, if you are playing as a female, and choose preset 9, your Alec will look like Scott preset 9, aged. When/if we ever get mods... I hope a 'default Alec no matter which preset you choose' mod will be one the first to roll out. |

lol Archangel , why does the game even allow to pick white default sibling if you select non-white custom preset for MainRyder? In fairness, genetics can do some rather remarkable things. On the off chance that you happen to have various ethnicities mixed into your DNA, it is actually quite possible for siblings to come out looking quite different. Not to mention, it's somewhat unfair to blame everything on Alec Ryder, as you also have to take into consideration Ellen Ryder's own characteristics. From a practical game development standpoint, BioWare solely based Alec Ryder on the default preset you chose. Really, it's only your fault if you happen to choose a preset that originally looked quite different from your final product. In the end, it's a rather moot point given Alec is barely in the game at all. Ironically enough, though, your Alec Ryder looks quite similar to your "MainRyder." Actually, in this particular case it's BW mistake for sure - my guess is last minute change in the order of Preserts. Because Preset 9 for females IS pure Caucasian. Without any doubts. So, pure African daddy was a really big surprise for everyone who used it. |
