Dat moment when you meet custom Dad Ryder...

I was actually really disappointed when I first made a Scott for my second playthrough(first playthrough used a default Sara); I actually customized Scott to look like a younger version of default Alec only for them to change Alec's appearance quite drastically.

Yeah it's pretty hilarious that everyone is picking Female head #9 as one of the few non-ugly options and end up with James Brown as dad.

That's the one I picked, and honestly, after having replayed the Prologue a zillion times trying to get my custom Sara right, he grew on me. Now I kind of do a double take whenever I see default Alec.

I kept a darker skin tone on preset 9 to match, and she does look a lot like Ellen. Scott was more tricky, since I think the corresponding preset looks too similiar to Alec, and a lot older than Sara--which would be fine if they weren't supposed to be twins, born minutes apart. 

Who doesn't look related is you and your 'sister'.

I was afraid I was the only white Ryder twins adopted by a black guy. Wow, Bioware. Words.

Are there multiple asian/white/black Dad Ryders or just 1 per every race?

lol Archangel, why does the game even allow to pick white default sibling if you select non-white custom preset for MainRyder?

I'm guessing this problem is so widespread because default Sara is hideous and EVERYONE is picking the #1 custom Sara on the archive.  That's the one in my pic.

I'm thoroughly confused. 

In fairness, genetics can do some rather remarkable things. On the off chance that you happen to have various ethnicities mixed into your DNA, it is actually quite possible for siblings to come out looking quite different. Not to mention, it's somewhat unfair to blame everything on Alec Ryder, as you also have to take into consideration Ellen Ryder's own characteristics.

From a practical game development standpoint, BioWare solely based Alec Ryder on the default preset you chose. Really, it's only your fault if you happen to choose a preset that originally looked quite different from your final product. In the end, it's a rather moot point given Alec is barely in the game at all.

Ironically enough, though, your Alec Ryder looks quite similar to your "MainRyder."
