is there any interesting RPG?
There are a few. Mostly older ones.
No point in me writing a list for you.
Most of the new stuff is console crap.
Bannerlord will be the next RPG I play.

Already on my second playthrough and may go for a third as I write my novelization. Waiting on Dawn of War III later this month and still need to finish Horizon Zero Dawn.

I've been playing MEA multiplier and Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but I'll probably start a 2nd playthrough soon to play alongside Horizon Zero Dawn. Zelda is not really holding my attention, the tiny stamina bar, breakable weapons & fiddle combat is frustrating, so I find myself moving away from it sooner that other Zeldas. How far did you get into Zelda? It's rather harsh early on, but once you get decent gear, durability really isn't that much of an issue. Especially once you obtain the Master Sword and Hylian Shield (the former can never break and the latter has a ridiculous amount of durability), gear becomes far less of a concern. The stamina bar, much like health containers, can be increased by doing the 120 shrines in the game. Not sure what you mean by "fiddle combat," as combat in Zelda has been the same since Ocarina. I do enjoy flurry rush and perfect guards, myself. I may be a bit biased as I've been wanting this kind of Zelda game since Ocarina. I'm still a bit shocked Nintendo would change the Zelda formula this much. I'm not very far in. I can only play for a few hours at a time before the weapons durability annoyies me to much & I have to stop. Last night I tried to do 2 shrines & both had bosses which I couldn't beat because my weapons broke to soon. I've always found the combat in Zelda a bit fiddly & in this it's the switching between bows & melee that I find awkward, particularly if I have to switch quickly. I have a horse now which has made things a bit easier but the horse doesn't come with you when you fast travel, which is very annoying. I'm finding that it is full of all these gameplay choices which seem purposefully designed to make my experience as annoying but not so annoying as I just quit.

I bought TW3 during a steam sale ages ago but it's just sitting there hibernating. Never played any of the Witchers. I want to spend some time on YouTube watching plot summaries of the first two games before I begin. If you happen to be fortunate enough to be a PC gamer, I'd highly recommend picking up The Witcher 1 and The Witcher 2 either on GOG or Steam. They go on sale often and are both great games. The combat for TW1 is a bit dated, but the story and characters hold up well. TW2 is much more recent and still holds up visually. I really wouldn't recommend playing TW3 until you have gone through those games, or at least know the basic story and characters. You really can't truly appreciate TW3 fully without having that background knowledge and previous adventures under your belt. I just watched 2 plot summaries on YouTube before playing TW3 & I got everything I needed to know. I hated the 2 previous games & only played the 3rd because another person who hated them recommended it.

I have a horse now which has made things a bit easier but the horse doesn't come with you when you fast travel, which is very annoying. I'm finding that it is full of all these gameplay choices which seem purposefully designed to make my experience as annoying but not so annoying as I just quit. The game is rather unforgiving early on and surprisingly difficult. BOTW really encourages you to rely on other strategies to kill enemies and not just focusing on weapons. I know initially I would use the sheikah slate abilities quite a bit (magnesis, bombs, stasis, etc.) to make it easier to take out enemies. I'd always blow up any TNT near enemy camps that I saw to help clear them out easier. I'd also constantly pick up and use enemy weapons and try to conserve my better weapons for harder fights. Do you happen to remember what the tier of the test of combat was in the shrines? If it was a "Major Test of Strength," I'd avoid those until you have better gear, more hearts, and are used to initiating perfect dodges for flurry rushes and initiating perfect guards for counterattacks. I definitely agree that swapping between melee and range can be awkward. I never owned a Wii or a Wii U, so it took me some time to get used to the motion controls on the Switch. Keep at it though and eventually you'll, at the very least, be used to how it works. Yeah. You'll need to find stables, and then you can summon any of your horses there, regardless of where they are in Hyrule. I think what Nintendo intended was to break away from the conventions of Zelda and really take players out of their comfort zones. They didn't want the game to be a straight up hack and slash like the previous games. They want players to think out of the box and try to be creative. I do think early on the game is perhaps too hard, especially for those who want a more forgiving experience. You shouldn't give up on the game though. I just finished it after 100 hours and did virtually all of the content. The game ends on a very high note and sets up the new story coming in the expansion pass. I can only speak for myself, but this is my favorite Zelda game of all time, and I never thought any game would surpass Ocarina. It gets much easier once you have more hearts, stamina, and better gear.

I hated the 2 previous games & only played the 3rd because another person who hated them recommended it. Fair enough. I guess it was somewhat different for me since I started with TW1 years ago and was already used to how it played. TW3, without a doubt, is definitely the best in the trilogy. For any RPG fan, it's definitely a must play at least once.

I have one final playthrough left to do to get the final trophy to get the platinum. Solving 20 remnant puzzles. Once done, I will continue playing the ME trilogy and DA. Might get Horizon Zero Dawn to play. Highly recommend playing Horizon. And not just for the amazing graphics, world and machine combat. The story is one of my favorites in any video game. If you enjoy mysteries and the idea of formulating/piecing together your own imagery like reading a book, you'll certainly enjoy that part of the game. And the present day cultures are something that rivals game of thrones or Witcher 3.

I'm itching to start another playthrough but putting it off until I've got further with some assignments, got to be responsible and all.
At the moment I'll hop on Battlefield for half an hour here or there.

If you dont do multiple PTs in an ME game then you are not a proper ME fan Normally, Id agree with you but MEA is lacking nearly everything that made Mass Effect what it was. However, I do feel the urge to go back and play the trilogy again, might do that once I finish this slog.

Jade Empire (I'm going to try and beat this for a second time).
AC: Black Flag (I'm going to spend time upgrading my Jackdaw).
AC: Syndicate (I'm going to start this when I finish Jade Empire).
Witcher 3 (Now with Hearts of Stone/Blood and Wine Expansions).
- Wolf With modifications or without? Stellaris. Got quite good after this weeks' patch. Intelligent scifi, true exploration, exotic aliens, and it even has rpg elements. What? A better explanation for stuff than 'space samagic'

I wish I could relive the magic of The Witcher 3 for the first time. Such an incredible game. If you haven't purchased them, the DLC's are completely worth it, especially Blood and Wine. B&W, with all the side content and collectibles, is easily 30-40+ hours of extra content. It's how DLC should be. I bought TW3 during a steam sale ages ago but it's just sitting there hibernating. Never played any of the Witchers. I want to spend some time on YouTube watching plot summaries of the first two games before I begin. TW3 was the first Witcher game I purchased, as well. I was on the fence about even starting it because I got it in a Steam sale, too. But, it's the best game I've ever played and I liked it so much that I played through the main story twice and all the DLC three times. And I still haven't even picked up all the collectibles and side content. I now compare almost all RPG's to TW3 to see how they stack up. They did almost everything damn near perfectly in my opinion.

Okay, now a whole two days after finishing Andromeda, I am in the mood to try NG+ Andromeda and, simultaneously try a second DA2 run, whatever mood strikes me. Just don't have enough energy for MP.

Started a new game plus, but I decided to wait a couple months for more patches to be released before I jump back in and restart the game+.

Starting an NG+ soon. Might hold off on that for patches and enjoy multiplayer for a while though.
Also, RYSE son of rome is free to download on XONE so I might try that as well. Also have to finish Deus Ex MD, still. Plenty of gaming left to do!

What does W3 GOTY cost when it goes on sale on Steam? I buy everything through Origins, normally, and it is $70 there fairily steadily. I have a 15% code, but it's still way too much. I'd pay $15-20 for something like W3 (becauseI have a 75% certainty I won't like it). Does it ever go into this range? I am okay waiting for a few more years.

That's what prompted me to get it on steam sale but the main drawback for me is the static player character. I really like being able to make my own characters - it's actually been a very long time since I've played a game where I couldn't do that. Not that I can't or won't do it, of course, but it's a bit of a downer. I know the reason why he's static (books and all) but nonetheless, it's one of the reasons why I'm dragging my feet. Another reason is that I don't really find Gerault attractive, I guess? I mean, if I'm going to be stuck playing a dude, lets make him good looking. (Yes, I realize that's shallow. I don't care. Ain't nothing wrong wanting to play hot characters, male or female.) Maybe my opinion will change once I play it though. For now, he looks like a cross between Gandalf and Aragorn. A grizzly " Strider" Aragorn, not the well kempt King Aragorn. That said, y'all have convinced me to give it a go after I finish my second playthrough of ME:A. I want to romance Jaal before it's ruined for me by stumbling across something really spoilery.

I want to romance Jaal before it's ruined for me by stumbling across something really spoilery. That's my reservations exactly, because it is exactly the reason why I could not play the previous best RPG of all times, PST. And PST was closer in its structure to what I loved, I.e. It has a party and companions. W3 is playing a take on a novel with some other person's protagonist, whom I can't even make looking the way I want him to look (really, has to be that exact?) in a world that does not really appeal (another take on medieval Europe), and without party and companions. While my the RPG I desire is set in an exotic world (bright, warm colours) with colourful companions, a lot of fun, rather than darkness and hopelessness of tone, and a protagonist that lends itself to customization. So, JAde Empire successor rather than Torment's is my dream RPG. In other words, I guess, I want a totally awesome vacation from reality, happy escapism, not a game that reproduces the worst possible aspect of it in grim details. I wanna have fun rather than suffer agony for 100 hours
