As for the hipsters, I dunno. Arkhne's suggestion is great fun, but not optimal. I haven't seen if Miniditka77 has made the leap over here, but I miss him in this thread. The characters I feel I know as well as they can be known are limited to the Justicar, Krentinel, BatSol, TSent and Geth Engie, but I know my Human Engineers better than all them put together. I really do have and use 8 of them. His or her combos are the major source of power, so you want a gun light enough to be able to alternate Chain Overload and Area Incinerate for your own 6x6 Tech Bursts. Everything else is debatable, but common sense tells me that the Drone renders groups of enemies helpless while I shoot them or blow them up. He might be the most versatile character in terms of being able to make all weapon classes equally viable - Locust, Carnifex, Falcon, Disciple, Kishock, for example, are not weapons most people reach for when heading to Gold, but the HE can make them sing. Crank the guns up a class and he becomes a WMD.

Seriously Nat, VolMerc with Falcon against Geth is beyond hilarious, and if you ever happen to play a 4 VolusMerc against Geth game you might end up needing surgery. I can hear HeroicMass's laughter in my head just thinking about it. It's not the fastest, sure, but it's just epic, especially on maps with ramps. If you want faster take a Saber, but it's less fun.

Try him with the GPS, it's a great gun for him (on of the best imo) as it applies ammo nicely and set-up the targets for troll drone explosions.

It's one of the best guns in the game as long as you host, off-host it can be a real POS as you say if the pug host have a potato connection.

In my experience 99,99% of them have it, but sometimes you get really lucky.

It, umm, has a more pun-y name? Isn't that a shocking thing to suggest?! Maybe I shouldn't drone on about it, I don't want to overload the puns and be incinerated for it. We all know how stunningly bad puns are.

GPS is devastating on or off host. If it is a potato connection, why are you still playing on that host? I find the [ESC] button quickly, followed by "Are you sure you want to quit the match in progress?"

To not use the GPS because of potato, is essentially saying "This game actually does suck so hard, I no longer want to play it." Potato was built in to this game, so either love all of the potato or you are fooling yourself.

This message comes freely from Qui-Gon-Cain from Kung Fu-Glenn. I have traveled the earth by quick match, in my opinion as much or more than any other soul, and so -

1. If your weapon sucks, it is not the gun, it is the connection. Quit, find a new host.
2. If it appears you are being one-shotted by anything that looks at you, it is the connection. Quit, find a new host.
3. When you decapitate the Nemesis with your backhand, then hear her scope lining up and you get shield-gated by a headless dead Nemesis, it is the connection. Maybe quit... that much lag can be fun.

Not taking Incinerate on the Vanilla Human Engineer is an airlockable offense, frankly I found it quite disturbing. Especially considering it was not a full melee fitness build. No, No, NO NO NO NONONONONONONONO
