in my opinion.
That was a stated goal by BioWare to promote team play, now if you are playing with friends as opposed to pugging it is better.
They wanted to discourage camping play by how the enemies were designed which is fine but due to the make up of the maps and the up and down mobility once players are flushed out they go willy nilly all over the place. You simply don't have time to worry about were your team mates are going, you have to get out and fast while battling.
The up and down levels also are a separator as well.
Because enemies are so aggressive and things are very fast paced it is tough to use good team synergy (as in two biotics running around together and booming things.) Even if you are trying to stick together at some point you are flushed and go in different directions.
This is not really a big bitch thread as much as an observation.

It also seems to me that, at least on gold, enemies go for stomps on downed allies pretty quickly. Also, not really a complaint just something I thought I would add since the maps do seem to spread teams all over the place.

If this game forced you to play certain classes for synergy it would be shit shittier. Playing with random people would be total shit. For evidence see any game that requires class/character synergy.
This is what made meme effect 3 fun, you could really do whatever.

All I know is
the game is still far easier when people stay within close proximity to each other.
..maybe this is a way of promoting cooperation... lol
I honestly think MEAMP is harder game to solo few waves compare to ME3MP. So... if you think ME3MP promotes more cooperation than MEAMP.. I am going to disagree on that. I could solo non-objective waves in ME3MP Gold with just about any kit I play with(not just infiltrators or Geth Juggernaut).
In MEAMP, I rather die trying to save a fairly competent player over trying to solo a wave at any given time.

This is what made meme effect 3 fun, you could really do whatever. But there is almost no synergy at all. Whether you have classes that work well together or not. I get into a game as a biotic, I see another biotic, working at least semi together you get far better net results but it is very tough to keep two players together in this game. By it's nature it filters you apart.

In ME3MP, I always went to the other side of the map away from the rest of my team. Ensured much moar kills and points for me. Screw teamplay. I also did all of the objectives myself - better ensure something is always done correctly. Also, Pugs constantly brought Tech characters into biotic lobbies and vice versa - which meant even more reason to stay away from them as much as possible. There was no real teamplay in ME3 either, except when playing with friends. And there's your problem solver for ME:AMP. Play with friends or expect to have way less fun.

The true good players in these games are the ones who wreck things and also keep their team alive if they are the most talented player. And as much as people love to dump all over pugs, many of them are keeping the enemy off your ass so you can kill things at your leisure, especially if a player is an infil

Have you actually played gold? If the team does not stay together, they die most of the time; especially on objective waves. It's fine as is. Random are bad most of the time.

It goes without saying But enemies trying to deal with 4 separate targets alone make things so much easier in this game. All characters are so squishy and enemy staggering is ruthless.. while cover is useless most of the time.

in my opinion. /cut This is not really a big bitch thread as much as an observation. I admit that I lack a lot of trust in PuGs therefore I run kits that are mostly self-sufficient. I'm a "healer type" of person in an MMO, the "Support" in MOBA games. I am more than happy to setup for my team be it biotic or tech boom boom. One of my favorite classes in ME3 MP was the N7 Paladin. I just ran around spraying frost on enemies (stop laughing!) TLDR, due to lack of trust I just run with Asari Adept e'ery day and twice on Sunday (Until the point I earn enough to unlock a comfortable manifest that allows me to play other kits to a reasonably self-sufficient state or have some friends to play with)

However true wreckage can be started when you know other characters are there to firmly back you up. Friendly support fire + Perfectly placed Singularity or Annihilation field supporting charge... it makes things so much better to charge into enemy and do your part as Kroguard.

I do agree that it`s hard to keep up with other players due to high mobility allowed in this game.
..but if you watch carefully.. in every game there is at least one guy who picks his favorite spot where he likes to camp and use as main base.
All you have to do is really try to fight within his shooting range.. and remember he is there to back you up in case you need a place to fallback. It makes pretty good synergy on its own.. I use it a lot myself when I need to fallback.

I don't have a problem with keeping tabs with where my team is.
I often don't understand why pugs move around like they do, but I suppose it comes from lack of experience.

I think the game design does actually promote teamplay - specifically how Bioware made all the weapons (apart from Vanquisher)either utter shite or below par.
Because weapons (and biotics for that matter) are so weak, this actually encourages ppl to group together so that they can focus fire to burn down all the bullet sponges.
And you can clearly see this phenomenon occurring every day on Zero/Outlaw/Gold where the entire team will camp at the opposite end of the level behind the pipes for an easy win...

The easiest way to play this game IS team camping. Weapon and power spam goes up in DPS significantly when there is power synergy among teammates and focused firepower. Most people here frown upon this because it's cheap, or cheating, or lame, or whatever.. but making 4-5 combos in 2-3 seconds is fun.. I don't care what you say. Also.. tanky enemies go down really easy with 4 guns headshotting them. You can even make music (and credits) with shitty pugs if you can all get on the same page.
Or.. you can flop your epeen on the table like a baby's arm, let everyone die and solo waves 4-6 to show what a badass you are.. and make each match take 25 minutes instead of 15.
