I actually like N7 armor but I don't feel it's fitting to put Ryder in it. It's unearned, from my roleplaying perspective. Unearned and from a player perspective it would feel like I am trying to turn my Ryder into Shepard 2.0. I want my Ryder to have their own identity. I feel ya. That's why I use Pathfinder V chest + helmet, Initiative V arms, Hyperguardian V legs in white + blue, to oppose Shep's red + charcoal grey.

The angaran chest armor V and up looks horrible on males. Does it look on females?

I freaking love the remnants armor, always had a thing for black armor with red lights, it looks evil but so fucking cool.

I wore N7 armor only once. To hear what Bradley has to say about it. And he's damn right. N7 Training: Interplanetary Combatives Training (ICT) is the Systems Alliance's premier school for leadership and combat expertise. The Interplanetary Combatives Academy, sometimes called "N-School" or "the villa," recruits officers from every branch of Earth's militaries to partake in grueling courses at Vila Militar in Rio de Janeiro. Initially, candidates train for more than 20 hours per day, leading small combat teams through hostile terrain with little sleep or food. Trainees who do well are awarded an internal designation of N1 and are invited to return. Subsequent courses - N2 through N6 - are often held off-planet and include instruction in zero-G combat, military free-fall (parachuting), jetpack flight, combat diving, combat instruction, linguistics, and frontline trauma care for human and alien biology. The highest grade of training, N6, provides actual combat experience in combat zones throughout the galaxy. If the trainee survives these scenarios in "admirable and effective fashion," he or she finally receives the coveted N7 designation. N7 is the only ICT designation that may be worn on field or dress uniforms. There is little shame in failing an N course - the training is so extreme that even qualifying for N1 elevates an officer to a position of respect. The universal prestige of merely attending the academy helps to restrain trainees from taking excessive risks in pursuit of higher honors. Although ICT qualification by itself does not guarantee higher rank, those officers who are able to complete the program are typically well suited to senior leadership positions. Ryder did some peacekeeping. I don't mind putting my points/resources into N7 Armor in pos-game, after the Ending and Ryder Family Secrets.

I like the Heleus armor in all black a lot but the neck clipping drives me crazy. The Hyperguardian and Remnant armors are really cool too.

Gotta go with the Heleus Defender I. Sleek, modular, snug. Like a space ninja. Which is basically a Power Ranger. Which is basically what the Pathfinder is. A Power RANGER. Plus it's the only armor set in any Mass Effect game that ditches the boots for some dope ass kicks. You'd think battle sneakers would be more common in the future. At least I would

I don't really like any of the armors. They're either too bulky or have a zillion unneeded pockets/bags. Heleus I-II Armor looks okay all black but the neck supporter thingy looks awful and the helmet piece is terrible. I've been trying to get a decent looking Pathfinder setup with a blue/silver/white color scheme... screenshots ahead.. I would really like some sleek/light armor designs like we had in ME1. I've been using an Initiative II chest piece and Pathfinder I helm with my newest playthrough default black/red color scheme on Sara and it looks good (no leg or arm armor pieces). But Sara looks good in all the armors. I wish Scott's armors were 15% less bulky or something.

So which armor do you feel is the best looking in game? I'm personally torn between the Pathfinder V-X and the Heleus Defender V-X. Also I forgot about the N7, so if that's your thing just post about it. I always felt tempted to pinch Cora's "armor"... Well, the three armors I actually used were Heleus, Pathfinder and Initiative. The maverick armor would have suited my play-style, but I really found it too ugly to bother with it. If I have to make a choice ... I'd say Heleus, despite the horrible default colours, even though I ended up preferring the Pathfinder armor for its stat. The Pathfinder armor is smooth in its design and I may have preferred it on a Scott, but something less bulky seemed in order for Sara.

The starting levels of pathfinder armor are pretty but i don't like the high level versions from the chest piece with that weird "bulk" on the back.

Well, the remnant armor looked interestinig in the preview, but I never tried it because it was purely defensive. I wanted something that adds to the bang.

The angaran chest armor V and up looks horrible on males. Does it look on females? Horrible too. I especially hate the legs, which make her look like she' got the angara twisted limbs. Could not make myself upgrade that one above IV. No % of recharge worth looking at that. Had to keep the body, helmet and arms though, because - stats. I'm looking forward for the WV's 'MEAexplorer' toolset to become more stable and user-friendly, the first thing I do once it's possible - swap the model, either with tier I-IV version or with something else. And there's a tiny hope that they reconsider the entire crafting system and\or give us an option to wear the 'cosmetic' armor. Customization is horrible in MEA.

I would have loved a Hyperguardian style weapons focused armor. I mean it looks perfect for a soldier but sadly Kett is the only option. I like the Ketta rmor but i like the hyperguardian a bit more.

Difficult decision. Generally the MW sets, but if I have to pick one, I'd say Initiative. I use N7 though, better stats and obviously looks great too.

I think the Heleus Defender armor is ugly as sin. Helmet is a fishbowl. Have never used the full armor though, because using the other part of the set leaves you with like 6 less modification slots.
Puely based on looks I'd go for the Remnant armor.
In reality though I mix and match. Going for Remnant Chest, Heleus Helmet (cause stats) and N7 legs and arms

They did a great job with it and nice for a free helmet Yeah I forgot that this helmet existed and I just recently unlocked it. It's definitely my favorite now. After nearing death twice with the full glass helmets, it would make sense for Ryder to wear something that can't break quite as easily from that point forward.

After some more thought about this I find that I don't like any of the armours at rank X.
My favourite has to be Deep Space Explorer, but its stats are ****.
I find it a bit stupid how stats like biotic power damage and recharge are stuck to N7 armour - ideally we should have the freedom of choosing stats when crafting any armour, in addition to augments.
I'd rather lower the gameplay difficulty and not have to use things like Heleus or N7 armour playing as a biotic, than be forced into using them just for the stats.

My favourite has to be Deep Space Explorer, but its stats are ****. For a stubborn person, even with those stats it's insanity-efficient I find it a bit stupid how stats like biotic power damage and recharge are stuck to N7 armour - ideally we should have the freedom of choosing stats when crafting any armour, in addition to augments. First time I saw those stats on N7 armor I was surprised they weren't for soldier-type character. You'd think BW would keep pushing N7-soldier image. Or at least more balanced around all trees, not only biotic.
