At some point in the game you have to side with one of these guys. Gil wants to redesign and "upgrade" certain parts of the Tempest which causes a clash with Kallo who wants the ship to only have its approved specs.
Who did you side with and why?
Now I did side with Gil because while he is an odd one, he certainly knows what he is doing since he was able to get the Tempest ready for deployment pretty quickly despite falling back on the up keep. This showed me that if anyone was to make adjustments to the Tempest Gil was up for it.
I respect Kallo and what his team did but I need the tempest at its best and it can't be that limited by specs and regulations.

I had no way to judge Gil's competence nor any reason to believe he knows more about starship design than the people who designed the Tempest, which might be one of the most advance ships ever created in the Andromeda's version of the Milk Way.

Love Kallo as a character, and I respect his feelings, but I thought that siding with Gil was the right thing.
I also think their scene with 'sharing the blueprints' was one of the most touching and well-executed scenes I've seen in my 80 hours of PT.

I sided with Gil because the changes he was making were basically upgrades and improving the ship. Even Kallo acknowledges that. However, to be honest, I wanted to side with Kallo, because I liked him more. But objectively (from my perspective) had to put safety and the needs of the Tempest first.

Sided with Kallo. He was among the team that construced the Tempest, so I would take his word over Gil's almost anytime. At the same time there's a matter of Gil changing things on his own, in a middle of nowhere. I don't doubt he knows his shit, but he should at least consult changes with Kallo and Ryder, as well as do those changes in safe environment. Which seems to happen after the argument.

I sided with Gil in the end, Kallo is right to some extent but ships need to be improved and adapt as much as anything else out there.

Gil.
Shepard modified the Normandy because it wouldnt hold up as it was.
Ken and Gabby Adams EDI teamed up to modify the Normandy.
EDI modified herself as the mission changed.
The Geth upgraded their guns.
Its just what you do.

The real choice is '' work together you idiots '' and even the game pushes the two to make up and work together. If I'm feeling logical, I go with Gil, if I'm feeling emotional, I go with Kallo. Depends on my mood :poker:

i totally respect Kallo's design, but some updates could help the Tempest and the crew to survive

Backed Gil, and I really like how that thread played out.
Not that I dislike Kallo, far from it, but I just thought he was wrong, and 'by the book' wasn't the right approach.

Gil. It's the difference between design and real world application. In that case Gil has the most experience.

I sided with Gil ... snip... had to put safety and the needs of the Tempest first. You put safety first yet sided with the man that redesigned the navigation system while the ship was in flight? Seems madness to me. Picked Kallo, he was okay with upgrades but only while the ship was docked/landed. Sounds sane.

I sided with Gill. I respect Kallo's opinion and Gill shouldn't modify the ship without notifying the team, and especially Kallo, but he's right that the design documents shouldn't be a holy grail. Even the best designs can improve from incorporating field experiences. This is especially true because the Andromeda galaxy was, and still is, a big unknown. It is not more than logical that some things, like the Scourge, couldn't be anticipated by the design team. In this case it would be a shame to not upgrade your ship. We've seen this in Mass Effect 2, where even though the SR2 was a major enhancement over the SR1 there were still upgrades avaiable, even though the SR2 was literally state-of-the-art. You could stick to your principles and choose not to upgrade because the ship is already very good and the designs are nice, but in ME2 this literally costs lifes. Even though this isn't the case in ME:A (I think), it would still be stupid not to upgrade where possible to avoid the same consequences. In the end Kallo should acknowledge that no design is absolutely perfect and that modifications are therefore warranted to help the team survive.

I sided with Gil. Kallo's main argument was essentially an appeal to emotion, which I don't find all that compelling against the adapt-or-die approach Gil takes. Plus the blueprint scene is pretty great.

Gil. Making adjustments, even ones that alter the original specs, is a necessity. While I understand where Kallo is coming from, not implementing upgrades could get the crew killed.

Interesting that most comments say Gil but Kallo is winning the poll. I sided with Gil both times so far. I like Kallo though, so not supporting him is tough. But they work it out in the end, so it's all good.

Kallo, Gil is just too reckless and don't know the ship the way Kallo does. Upgrade the ship all you want but talk to Kallo first to make sure it's safe. I'm sidings with Gil in my 3rd playthrough to see this cut scene.

Definitely Gil. He's right about the ship being designed in the milky way and they need to adapt for the heleus cluster, scourge etc.
Kallo's reasoning seems to be based mostly around pride and not logic. Surprising for a Salarian.

I sympathize with poor Kallo, but it's Gil all the way. If Gil was incompetent, then yeah we'd have a huge issue, but IMO there is no indication that he is (granted, Tempest = lots of brand new tech, so where did all his experience come from? Honestly, I feel I just have to go with it). Gil is doing his job, Kallo is interfering. If Kallo has a serious concern, he ought to take it up with a superior (Cora or Ryder), not be like, "it's fine, it's fine, go pathfind" until there is a full-on confrontation with a co-worker.

I sided with Kallo because I understood just how he felt. I was reminded of what it felt like to see Liara move into Miranda's room in ME3.
That was a constant reminder that Miranda (my Shepard's love interest) was not going to be a squadmate.
I understand why people sided with Gil, but Kallo's perspective is more in line with my own.

Even Kallo knows that Gil is right, when he (Kallo) stops thinking with his heart. I side with Gil but understand why Kallo would like the Tempest to stay the way his team designed it.
