Maybe about 40 hours in, I decided that I was just going through the motions of the game and decided to take a break and I haven't gotten back to it in about 3 weeks. I don't know, it just feels so much like boring chores and characters I cannot care less about that I've lost all motivation to play the game. Has anyone else got the same feeling? ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸
Have not reached that point yet. However, the convoluted menu navigation, complex upgrade setup, why I can equip a looted weapon on the spot but once in my inventory I can't or why I can't compare its specs to my present load out in beyond my understanding... these and other sticky points sap my enthusiasm.
Obviously the whole menu system is controller based which, from a PC perspective is stupid.

Doing multiplayer at the moment, which entertains me greatly. I need to finish up some task sidequests on my first playthrough, and after some patches I'll probably do an NG+ playthough with a custom ryder this time around.
I already tried once and managed a decent looking male ryder, but my female sibling came out looking rather wonky...

I'm still having fun and am on my second playthrough, though this playthrough will take a bit longer because I'll be mixing in some shorter games and MP.
I can see myself completing more playthoughs of MEA than I did off DA:I (I still haven't done the trespasser DLC). DA:I was fun but it's open world drained me and I found it hard to get a playstyle that suited me so I kept starting and stopping. I've got 1 finished save -minus trespasser and 3 other saves at various states.MEA's open worlds are much better done, each planet feels important and connected to the overall plot and your crew.
My gut reaction to my first playthrough of MEA is that I prefer it to ME1. I enjoyed ME1 more during replays because I knew which decisions would impact the next game and characters I had originally found to be just ok like Garrus were so much improved in subsequent games that I retroactively liked them more during replays.
Edit: to make a sentence make more sense.

I just read thru the posts in this thread, and some folks mentioned something that I just could not put my finger on before. I thought it was just an issue with there being too many fetch quests. But I know in both DAI and TW3, I did so much mindless fetching and it was still OK somehow (not great, but...palatable). With, of course, the exception of filing requisitions in DAI...just a place to dump on the crap you got that you don't need! Ugg! Anywayy, I thought maybe I was just getting older and less patient, but do you know how many ridiculously long and convoluted sci-fi and fantasy crap stories I read? That can't be it. But it hit me...I think it is a payoff issue. I have crafting, which I dig, and so much of the filler content is "here...have a container full of loot". And I either sell it all (for money I don't need) or turn it into materials (of which planet scanning and mining and randomly hittting rocks here and there have given me alot of). I don't even pay attention to what I get. So it just feels like going through the motions. Its kinda the same with the skills. So many, and yet I only use 3 at a time (well...6....I usually switch profiles once during longer battles). I don't think the fetch quests themselves are the problem...its just the payoff. Even the vaults. I want to explore every nook and cranny, but what is the point when all I get is more loot? If there were secrets to uncover more often...about the kett and the remenant and the planets and the anagra's past, I would be more involved in those fetch quests. If I could see the science labs grow when I bring them materials and schematics. If more people were filling in the Nexus when I wake them from cryo. If my crew had more special projects that my finds would benefit from. If it just felt...meaningful. Its frustrating, because I thin the addition of a little more payoff could have made those quests much more interesting. It is sprinkled here and there, but it is a balance issue. But like I posted way back...I am STILL enjoying my second PT. I like the characters more this time round (they are growing on me). I am having fun switching abilities up and adapting to different playstyles on the fly. And I dig riding around in my jacked-up Nomad!

Are you kidding? I love Mass Effect. Andromeda has a ton of quirks that annoy me (e.g. only getting to use 3 powers). However, it occupies a certain nice that other shooting games have yet to do. I love being an adept or engineer, as I can essentially use magic to implement my shooting. yeah that's why I love this game played a mix of Adept and Infiltrator with my first Sara sometimes taking things out using tactical cloak using a sniper rifle I equipped to fire grenades and also using a combination of tactical cloak with Shockwave was cool too tossing people into the air also pulling them in a biotic hold so my squadmates can blast them to pieces. Worked well especially with Cora and Liam on hand to help out Vetra too. Got an Soldier/Engineer run and a Vanguard style run planned as well yet so I'm doing at least 2 more playthrough's. I only put things on hold to give Bioware a chance to fix them it looks like they have or at least the issues I was facing as they did so with the 1.05 patch so as soon as I'm finished ME3 I'll probably be back on it.

I'm taking a break while NG+ gets fixed, but the longer I wait the more I think that maybe one playthrough is enough for me. Currently reading the book and I'm enjoying it more than the game.

i'm still going, although its at short bursts because im streaming a playthrough.
I'm probably going to wait for DLC at this point before I sink my teeth into it further, which is what I usually do with BioWare games, most of my replays come after all content is given.

I've actually started a new playthrough in Inquisition. Despite all it's faults, it's a better Andromeda. Maybe if some dlc drops that is just too amazing to skip i'll come back to it. It's not even because of bugs, or the story or dialogue being lackluster. The characters in Andromeda are just blah. I don't find myself really caring about any of them except Jaal and Drack. Andromeda is the first game in which I don't even care to romance any of the companions lol.

I would jump right back into the game if those issues were fixed.

Yes, I did. Also around 40 hours in, completed Kadara more or less, and that was enough. Will wait for more patches and hopefully some improvements. Maybe by then the bitterness of dissapointment by how terrible andromeda turned out to be will settle down a bit, and I will do a full playthrough, hopefully detached from the thought that this is a Mass Effect game. That is so melodramatic.

I'm still playing..on Veold right now. Game is a mixed bag for me. Characters are just not interesting and the only one that is the least bit interesting is Jaal when he is riding around in the Nomad. I had Cora and Vetra in the Nomad on two separate occasions and it seemed like he was flirting with both of them!.... ...... if the opportunity presented itself, Jaal could probably pipe down both of them. Other than that, i appreciate what the team tried to do in terms of side missions and making the game as big as it can be and i gotta be honest, the worlds i've seen feel fully realized and they look great, but the side missions and ALOT of them just feel like uninspired GRIND missions with no real rewards for traveling across the map (even with fast travel) it can take a minute to get to the mission. Another annoying aspect coupled with getting to these side-missions is how the route becomes blocked by these big-ass mountains that have you wondering how do you either get around or get to the to the missions marker in general....too many times i had to travel around a mountain, fighting annoying respawning enemies only to find out that mission marker is either not there or at some other obscure location. I'm a completionist, but this game is testing that aspect to the MAX.. ...........if the missions just felt a little more rewarding with maybe a cutscene or some in depth information? IDK, it would just make these missions seem a bit more worthwhile....you complete the mission and that's it...on to the next one after traveling for over 20 minutes doing fetch quests...it just feels flat. I'm going to keep playing tho, because somehow i want to think that the game will get better at some point.....again tho the planets feel fully fleshed out and i kinda feel like they put alot of work into crafting those planets and all of those side-missions that i have seen so far, because there are a TON of them. So i really am trying to not criticize too much because i know just from the side-missions alone Bioware was trying to give us the biggest game they possibly could...but idk...the characters and the rewards for doing these side missions just feel a wee bit uninspired. On the Tempest, Jaal was complementing Peebee and Cora made a disgusted noise so Jaal complemented Cora. I like that the crew will talk not only when we are on the Nomad, but also when we are on the Tempest.

I'm teetering on the edge of stopping altogether with the same feeling as OP. I started feeling like the SP (on Elaaden currently) was just a repetitive chore, and once the gameplay stopped being novel I discovered the horrible truth that (for me) the characters and story just aren't all that compelling. I picked up Bulletstorm (I know I KNOW) on sale and burned through its admittedly repetitive campaign and enjoyed myself immensely. Then I looked at MEA and reinstalled The Witcher 3 (which I never finished before a HDD failure) and thought about how damned compelling even an insubstantial sidequest in that game was. Then I started replaying LOZ Wind Waker (because I will likely never play BOTW) and marvelled at how tight the whole package is, from gameplay design to character art (Link's paint-on, cartoon expressions are somehow so much more alive than anything in MEA's faces). Even the story is more compelling than MEA. I picked up on Elaaden and did the 3rd monolith sudoku thing and the samey vault with some rudimentary puzzle solving and blew up some more remnant, then quit again. I'm trying really hard to not give up entirely, but even a 15-year old (classic, admittedly) game, that I've already played through, is so much more compelling to play right now. Wind Waker was always my favorite. I know, I know I'm supposed to like Ocarina of Time, but I just always like Wind Waker better.

After my time of not playing, and getting some serious time in ME1, I've come back. Finished nearly everything in Kadara (outside of the city) and just died in its vault. Also, I kept trying to boost the speed of the Mako, which was frustrating because it just zoomed in instead. Clearly, some part of me wanted to be riding the Nomad even when in the Mako.

It's a BioWare fan forum so most people are fling to say the game is great but I had to force myself into play sessions. I got to 40 hours and 1.05 patch made the choice for me by making the game not work on my machine. Don't really care at this point how soon they fix it as it wasn't a high quality experience.

Maybe about 40 hours in...
Then you must have a 'secret game' that you are having more fun playing.
Because I wasn't sick of this game until it finally ended after 200 hours. I always complete all of the content in RPG's, in order to give them a fair rating.
Some console games are more torturous than others to plow through. This one wasn't too bad, though. It definitely wasn't a 40-hour dropout.
Could never play it from the beginning again, though. Can't believe people even do stuff like that. No life.
Let a few years pass, add some content to this baby, and then maybe I'd drag it out of the toy box again, and give it another whirl.
I did that with Inquisition. Wasn't a big fan of that game on release day, November 2014.
But in 2016 when they released the GOTY Edition for 20 bucks, I thought that was an amazing deal for a game of that caliber.
The same will be true for Andromeda. Wait two years. It'll be a much better game.

I've stopped right before the last mission because I can't choose who to lock in for romance and they haven't fixed the movie night yet. Been playing MP to pass time and get back to OW's new event, SWTOR's new patch.

Even though I'm 70 hours into the game and probably only 50% done, I'm on the fence like some other players about continuing it. I'd like to start over because my character turned out looking like a dweeb, but the thought of going through all that introductory material again along with working through the remnant puzzles makes me dread it. Also, and I hate to admit it as I consider myself a seasoned player, even after all this time I don't understand a lot of what I'm doing, particularly with crafting, resource acquisition, and the various points/rewards systems. A lot of my missions seem to be on hold awaiting email, but when I go to email there is nothing there--most annoying because I evidently missed some missions which are marked FAILED. Anyway, it looks like a lot of you have gotten through it once and some several times--very impressive! This is kinda me? I'm 85 hours into it and just finished... ...saving the salarian arc >.< That was horrific! But at this point I feel like I'm pushing myself to finish. I've been sick since I returned from a business trip on Saturday, so I've been doing my best to plow through the game. I like my Scott; surprisingly, he came out cute. I love a few of the characters, mostly Liam, Tann, Kallo, Drack, a few others... but the majority of them I'm pretty meh on, and some I just downright do not care for (Gil, Vetra, a few others). I enjoyed the Reyes romance, but it's over pretty quickly, so I've got nothing to look forward to. The plot is kind of interesting, but it gets lost amidst all the myriad tasks I'm given (save my husband! rescue my friend! blah blah blah). I've honestly at this point kind of forgotten what I'm supposed to be doing. Something the Moshae told me. Find... whatever. I don't even know lol Crafting is tedious and I haven't made anything I want to use. I am just wearing the armor that comes with the scarf b/c I look dapper af. I can only use three powers at once, so I haven't bothered leveling up after a certain point. I maxed out all biotic and soldier passives. *shrug* The game wants me to level up more, but what else do I do? It's basically DAI. In space. At least my guy has a romance I like this time. But the villain is stupid (again). And the characters are boring (again). And the plot is tedious (again).

I have... Or at least , I am playing less often. I am at 72-73 hours, before the Journey to Meridian.Have all 4 planets on 100% viability ,haven't done all loyalty missions and haven't visited the planet HC something something. I feel kinda tired but I will finish it. When not on my PS4 and in Andromeda, I play Persona 4 and Severed on my PSVita and The Witcher 3 on One.

I mentioned in another post I'm just playing at this point out of curiosity. Half the time I go places and forget what the hell I'm doing there because i don't care. Then somebody wants to talk to Ryder and I have to listen to him mumble his way through it. I can actually handle a weak storied game if there are good characters to interact with; having a weak story and weak characters...this is a bloody chore. The only thing I'm enjoying at this point is racing the Nomad around...I was thinking last night if this doesn't get better soon I might start dividing my time between this and the 1st Witcher game; I wanted to replay that trilogy anyway. Thankfully I've had minimal technical issues; I keep hoping someone will patch Addison and Cora's hair with an adult haircut but somehow I think I will have to live with that one.
