How about if I use "issue" instead of a flaw? I see it as a flaw, you see it as nothing important. Although there ARE "issues" that are flaws that really can't be disputed, such as bugs, the CC, the same mesh being used for all members of a species, and several more. For me, I'd give it a 6/10. Far below ME2, slightly below ME1, but above ME3. At release, it's a 0. I lost two saves due to missing ground textures on the PS4. After patch 1.05, I revisited the game and plowed straight through to the end. Underwhelming and I'm not even interested in visiting the planets I missed. It just didn't click with me. 5/10. The best 3rd person shooter I played, but I don't put much stock into that. Quality writing, voice acting and music is what buries into my soul. If it ain't there, it's not there. I don't knock the people that love the game, but f*** the snowflakes that can't take criticism.Saying that makes you a snowflake that can't take criticism.

Mmmmm I don't remember a game that had something as glaring as Dr. Lexi's head on every single asari. You're lucky on the bugs. I wish I had been. Then I would def have given it an 8. But I've run into a ton and lost hours and hours of gameplay. See, you said that the CC is lacking. I agree. You are okay with it even so. I'm not. That's fine, different opinions. But it IS lacking. I've made a couple decent Ryders myself. I'm not 100% pleased with them, but I'd say....80% pleased with them. Still doesn't change that the CC is limited.

No, I didn't do anything to cause it. Oh man, I cursed and cursed. I had to use a third party program (Recuva) to recover them. I was only able to recover 1 that worked, and it was from about 5 hours back. But at least that's better than starting over.

Yeah, I don't want to pay full price on a game that I have to spend half my time looking for a solution to a console. On a console?!? PS4. Whatever. I'll revisit this game in about 18 months if I'm not already subdued by another game by then.

You mean the same exact NPCs everywhere in Bethesda? Or the cut and paste villagers of TW? It isn't uncommon to see asset reuse like that. Hell, Bethesda was notorious for using one vouce for dozens of NPCs. So yeah... that issue is in practically every game.

I'll use another example. A while back I was reading a thread about a show and episode that I really liked. One of the people was saying he hated the ep because the music was so loud and blatant that it drove him nuts. He wasn't saying the music was bad, just too in-your face.
Now, I don't really notice ambient music. I notice the mood, I think, but the music is just in one ear out the other. So I had no problems with the music at all.
At some point, I rewatched the episode (because I really liked it). I happened to remember what the guy said, and tried to listen to the music. Paying attention to it specifically, it was indeed quite loud. It still didn't bother me, or I actually liked it. But that doesn't change the fact that the episode actually is quite obvious. And to a person who is sensitive to ambient music, I could see that it would be a problem.
So the objective issue is: The music is very obvious.
The subjective opinion is: Is it TOO obvious or just fine?

Hell, Bethesda was notorious for using one vouce for dozens of NPCs. So yeah... that issue is in practically every game. I know that was an issue in Oblivion, but even then they had at least half a dozen or more of each male, female head and voice. Oblivion's CC was horrible too. Bethesda's world has thousands of NPCs in it, so even using a dozen different meshes, you'll see the same one hundreds of times. Andromeda has two asari meshes. Just two. And one of them is only used on PeeBee. Having a unique head for Lexi and PeeBee, and maybe 2 or 3 for the rest of the asari would have looked great. I'm pretty sure that's what they did in MET. Why didn't they do that in ME:A?

It's not a bad game but giving it a 9/10 is pretty funny.

I'm glad I didn't pay full price, and don't plan to buy DLC unless they patch the probl...issues. I don't WANT it to be a bad game. Mass Effect in general is one of my favorite game enterprises. It's also just about the only shooter I can play (tendency to motion sickness). I just really really really want a game that's been polished and thought out that doesn't involve me having to reload due to bugs about 3 times a day.

there is a lot of quality dialogue. Anything that comes from Jaals mouth is pure gold Didn't you get the memo? No one is sllowed to think Andromeda had anything but terrible writing, dialogue, and open world boredom. I know after the constant deluge of the copy/paste "criticism" has changed my mind. I saw the light! And by light meaning I will probably close my account at this negative cesspool. More time for you to play TW3! Good call.

Curious about your hard-on for Christian Bale. What's the significance?

If they haven't encountered the bugs, don't mind the other issues, and like the way the dialogue goes, I can see them giving it 9/10.
I completely disagree but everyone has their opinions.
I'm just tired of being dismissed or mocked and insulted because my experience has been legit bad, and the issues that they don't mind bug the crap out of me.

I'm on ME2 in a replay of MET right now and as I play I realize that it is so much better and so much more focused for the quests or missions. I think ME1 got it 100% right. Open world is for side missions and exploration. People who like that will love that in any ME game. If there is a galaxy map there should be open world quests for the avid explorers. But to make that be the whole of it I think almost instantly assured it would be a failure because planet stuff was nowhere near on par with the kind of quests from MET. Especially vault stuff. Now, that is not to say that I did not enjoy that stuff because I found it to be fun but after a few planets it was sort of being on autopilot to get that stuff done. However, had there had been more missions like the main quest ones, that had a linear nature to them, and had they helped more with the story, to build a better story, I think the game could have been superior to what it is.
The open world stuff they had is great for exploration and questing but it cannot be the whole of it. We need more linear structured type quests like from MET because they have focus and a kind of intensity that open world lacks.

The open world stuff they had is great for exploration and questing but it cannot be the whole of it. We need more linear structured type quests like from MET because they have focus and a kind of intensity that open world lacks. That's not how ME 1 did the 'open world' exploration. The open world maps with multiple quests, main and side quests, were all the main planets. The UNC missions were pretty much one quest per planet closed off map. I mean sure I guess it was 'open' in its own way...but then it just proves the point that 'open world games' are being stretched so think that the term is loosing all of its useful definition. The point is however two fold, one ME 1 handled its world pretty much the same way MEA did...just the maps were smaller and they had fewer quests...and that if they did what you are suggesting I for one would be a very unhappy camper since this was pretty much one of my huge complaints I had towards DA I which otherwise was a spectacular game.

Curious about your hard-on for Christian Bale. What's the significance? Look at those facial expressions man.

there is a lot of quality dialogue. Let me make this very clear to you. I don't copy and paste anything. My opinion was independently developed alone when I, alone, downloaded and played the game, with no one else around, as soon as the game went live on Origin. Not even a moment passed between its going live and my participation. I waited all the years. I had every hope it would be quality. I saw the shit INDEPENDENTLY. And just think of the logic. Why would people even WANT to join a bandwagon of criticism? Don't we by nature WANT to enjoy the game and be contrarian? Don't see those fans who *like* a game popularly crushed by public opinion simply speak louder and more vehemently? So no. I'm going to say this exactly once. My opinion was developed alone, without knowledge others would feel the same.

You're not alone with all the bugs, I'm just sorry your experience was marred. Reading up on Ea bug list, wow I feel lucky just to get the banter bug. I can understand your frustration, I got mad enough driving around for hours in the Nomad hearing nothing. And then doing gamer voodoo techniques to get it to fire, which worked for a few hours, then nothing until patches. So I genuinely hope they get the mess straightened out, but by then so many like you might have moved on in disgust, which is a shame. Five year wait and this . . . .
