Why you should use the Heleus Defender armor

I understand I just don't think it's earned.  Being an N7 is something truly special.  I mean, otherwise couldn't every child of an N7 claim their parent's N7 armor as inheritance?  Incidentally, though I was using Hyperguardian I've now switched to Pathfinder armor.  That's the armor Ryder has earned, particularly at this point in the game (near end of main quest).

Conrad also thought he was Spectre material in ME1.  I don't think I trust his judgment.  Besides, it obviously a cheap imitation.  Note the cracks and scratches.  Real N7 armor would never look like that.

Ah here i was expecting a mature thread...instead i got running lights on buttocks.

On the other side...so that's what that armor is called.

Rank 1-2 of the Pathfinder armor has the N7 logo on it, but rank 3 and above has additional pieces over the chest that cover it.  I won't use the tier 1-2 for that reason, but 3-4 looks pretty cool.



I don't like the look of the Pathfinder chest at ranks 5 and above, though.  Too much bulk, and I don't like the "Cylon 'eye' light" on the chest piece.

I really like Heleus defender helmet but the armor it's too bulky for me at higher tiers.

N7 armor classic has a very cool shape. My Scott like it to wear a knight suit, he likes swords and Knights in general. Asshole Bradley gets always the bill for his stupid cheekiness.
He would have earned more than vague suggestions from Scott. At least a disciplinary procedure

I need to spend more time with these things. I thought the C8 was limited to the Hyperguardian (I think that's the name). According to additional feedback, the Pathfinder kit seems to have an N7 at levels 1-2, but then evolves to hide it under additional layers.

The drastic evolutions are what throws me off, I guess. I've not built most of these. If it were as simple as building a few, immediately trying them on, and then reloading a save to build more, I'd have done it. With all of the menus, and the requirment to go all the way to the loadout locker (through too many doors), it's just an aggravation.

They did an excellent job creating cool looking gear. I do still wish function were separated from form, when it comes to crafted armor. Picking a package of stats to bundle with a certain appearance would be great. Customizing weapon colors would be cool, too.

I noticed that the Initiative Spearpoint Armor has very nice, colorful "touchpanels" or displays on the forearms. I first noticed her during a cinematic, when Ryder raised his arm. I thought, "That's not the omnitool, is it?" I checked my inventory and saw those panels. Very nice detail. I like the look of the Spearpoint set, before it gets bulky. It looks a lot like the Pathfinder set, from what I'm seeing.

Yeah I can see now that the elbow protection on this armor is unparalleled! Great catch.

The screenshots make it hard for me to be sure, but does it always glow light purple no matter what color scheme you pick? Or does it become white at higher ranks?

The lights are weird.  Sometimes they seem almost bluish white, others noticeably purplish.  Makes coming up with a color scheme for the thing tricky, 'cause only a few colors work with purple and blue/white.  

They actually are on a constant "spectrum shift" through several colors, shifting through white-blue-purple continuously. It's actually a pretty interesting design choice, even if I'm neutral about its implementation. It feels like a bit of extra effort was put into that armor.

I do wish the underarmor wasn't color-locked to the armor plates/pieces. When you try to create a custom color scheme, the skin-suit and armor pieces are linked to the same color option. Fail.
