weaponless vessels in MEA2...?

The tempest would need a complete rebuild.

It has no armour plating and the recoil from a main gun would blow out all its windows (Structural weakness) according to Cora and Kallo tells you its only defenses are stealth mode and a kinetic barrier.



Its not fit for a fight even if you put a guns on it.

If anything the Tempest is much more phallic in design. 

I'm sure we'll see some warships in the next game. Even if the timeframe between games is ridiculously short, they'll have managed to build some warships (because writing). They've made their peaceful contact with the natives, and joined an ongoing war with invaders. The need for a peaceful, non-threatening arrival is in the past.

I'm not sure what they'll do with Tempest, but I'd not be surprised if she got weapons. They added a thanix cannon, special shielding and new hull plating to the SR2, and we didn't worry about the technical issues involved. They don't have to justify to me how Tempest supports a gun. I like my sci-fi, but ME has never been that game that goes into realistic detail.

the recoil is there as a gameplay mechanic...with that kinda weapon there should be none...THAT SAID...even with that kind of recoil compared to that of a Mass Effect weapon I'd say I doubt the ship would not be able to bear it

You can't turn them into full-fledged dreadnoughts though, because they are built around giant ME cannons, but they can be turned into carriers easily, with hangars and low-scale defense armament. Yet that would be logical thing to do, we don't like such people in Andromeda, in the end I expect them to be used for colony construction, because it's the best use for such ships.

I'm sure we'll have some form of angarian warships in the sequel. 

To be fair they'd be there a long time trying to defend a lot of the creative decisions made for this game.

BTW they left the arks defenseless too, going in a new galaxy does not mean that there will not be hostile races. The AI comes from a galaxy where turians SHOT AT HUMANS NO QUESTIONS ASKED just because they saw them working on a fucking relay. And you want no weapons on your fucking ships? And guess what? EVERY ARK that was attacked by the Kett turned into a sitting duck because, lo and fucking behold they had no way of defending themselves while carrying TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE INCLUDING CHILDREN....yes, argue "we come in peace tree hugging ideas" with the Asari who saw their children taken and killed by the Kett on their ark.



Oh oh....and the NOMAD! Who was the genius who sat at a table and said "hey, we come from a galaxy that has giant space worms who can eat a reaper destroyer not to mention all manner of insanely dangerous kill world fauna and mechs the size of mini busses but FUCK....you know what we need? We need a rover to explore hostile uncharted worlds and we need it with no guns, because the best way to defend ourselves from a threat is to fucking run away!!!!"
