I have decided to reserve judgement until I get some DLC and the final patches are implemented. I assume I will enjoy it more because I will know how to navigate the story and ignore stuff I don't care about, which I assume will increase the gameplay alot. For now, I am giving it a break so I don't burn out on it, and weirdly enough, decided to go back to an old game than I sunk so many hours into, that I swore I would never need to play again. Buuuuuuut...well, I never played the Blood and Wine DLC, and I heard its the best. So while I wait for game stuff to be added to MEA and the bugs to be worked out in this game, I am enjoying TW3 gain. I forgot how utterly beautiful that game was (the moving grass, sky, weather, day/night cycles...playing without a HUD or map, which is an option, makes it so freaking immersive). It is really astonishing what those folks accomplished with that game. And no...I am not trying to say TW3 is better than MEA. As I have said a million times, neither compare to DAO for story and immersion, imo. I do hope I can dive back into MEA in a few months and really get hooked into the story. I did one full, completionist playthrough and about 1/3 of a 2nd before deciding to stop and try again later. Fingers crossed! I really, really want to love the game.

Once BW actually does something to make me change my opinion, like oh I dunno patch some issues maybe (Hello Bioware? Any home there?), I'll change it. If nothing with the game changes though I don't see how my opinion would.

Hearts of stone is the best expansion for TW3 IMHO. P.S. Try Expedition Vikings, a much better RPG than MEA. Loved HoS!! Heartbreaking and hilarious all at once! By the time Blood and Wine came out, I had already sunk 200+ hours into the game and did absolutely everything, and was just too burnt out to bother with getting it. Coming back to the game, I remember why I couldn't wait to get off work each day to play it! I used to feel that way about Bioware games (DAO, MET, my first run of DAI). MEA just felt like a chore...on the first play-through! That was...weird for me. I am one of those people that hates to stop reading a book mid-way, even if it is terrible. But I seriously had to struggle to keep playing MEA. These boards are what kept me playing (so that I could be part of the discussion). Without that, I prolly would have just stopped. Holding out hope that the DLC will add a little depth/immersion for me.

No, Andromeda is still very average game because of many different reasons. Didn't play last two weeks; at the moment BW stays very quiet, probably soon we will get some announcement about new patch and first SP DLC, maybe will comeback after that.

Not really, I wasn't put off by the facial animations and other bad criticism when I naught the game. Although it doesn't feel the same as the OT, it's still fun and the criticism pushed to overkill before most people even had a chance to play the whole game. I'm annoyed that there are bugged quests that make it impossible to get 100% conplete. There are things I don't particularly like (ie the inability to mute SAM's repeated hazard warnings and mining instructions) but the game it still fun. I may have things I would have added or done differently, if I was the devopers, but there's stuff I would change in many games that were great games.
I have a feeling most if not every gamer has stuff they both love and hate about certain games they've played and wished they could change them, it's part of being human to want to make things better, but that doesn't mean the games aren't still fun or we would stop buying them entirely.

It's more like my opinion that I wasn't 100% sure was well-founded has been confirmed.
I'm doing a NG+ where I mostly stick to just crit path and the assignments that are most important for world-building (outposts, Ryder Family Secrets, Architects) to see if accelerated pacing while cherry picking important subplots would give an improved narrative compared to the open world sprawl.
It kinda works, but it also exposes that the main artery of Andromeda's plot is not nearly as compelling and engrossing as most of Bioware's other games. Certain side quests would do wonders to flesh out the crit path if deftly woven into the fabric of said path to keep things varied and intense, rather than those quests being totally optional and ultimately inconsequential if skipped.

I've just finished a NG+ as well, with a similar, critical stuff only approach. My opinion of the game hasn't changed - it's a good game. Shame it's not a great one, after 5 years of anticipation.

Nope, haven't touched it in about 2 weeks now, instead I'm playing the inquisition and trying out some PS4 games since I finally bought the PS4. Andromeda just isn't good enough to replay, that's a first for me with any bioware game period, it's a decent one and done game though and I won't be back till DLC drops to at least see how they handle that and maybe, it gives an impression they're learning. For now, I'm moving onto HZD and Nier Automata since people keep hyping it up as great RPGs and I need to fill my RPG thirst, plus E3 is right around the corner.

Yeah, I'm more down on it now than I was the first couple weeks after launch- novelty was sort of the main thing MEA had going for it and now that that's wearing off I'm just left with a really mediocre-ass game.

Cant say my opinion has changed. But now that I have figured out how to have some fun (craft a good story, avoid the pointless or out of character stuff) I can play more to my style. The initial feeling of discovery and surprise may not be there anymore, but I can roleplay a few characters. It wont go down as the best game in my book, but its manageable for the time I want to invest. Had it not been a Bio game, I probably wouldnt have baught it that early. Lesson learned.

Not too much. After my first playthrough I would have given it a 7...mainly because of the overly cumbersome traveling between hubs was frustrating. Now I'd give it an 8.5 because I can play the game more efficiently and I think the game shines in game+ (not having to grind for upgrades and materials is a huge benefit). Combat continues to thrill and challenge as I explore different play styles. I've been fortunate in not having more than a few bug or facial animation issues on PC that some have reported. 250 hours and counting for 70$...I'll take that. I've never done NG+ and have never had to grind for materials. The only material you need to look for somewhat is Uranium, but you can get more than you'll ever need in a playthrough in a single dome on that planet where Vetra's loyalty mission is (I picked up like 800 in a single go). The rest can easily be acquired by scanning planets, random loot and deconstructing everything you find and craft. It's totally cool if you don't mind that stuff, but I really consider planet scanning and deconstructing materials the very definition of grinding. Maybe it's not technically, but I really find such tasks tedious. Plus I don't want to have to recraft my ideal weapon or suit of armor again and again. I just want to go out an annihilate everything in my path. It's very therapeutic.

No. I did a second pt with ng+ and had perhaps even more bugs, although having access to more powers, weapons, and armors from the start was nice. I thought it was about a 6/10. Decent shooter, poor story. Opinion stayed the same second time through.

Yes, actually. I really enjoyed the game when I first played it. Gave it a 9/10, but figured it would go down a little after the "newness" wore off. I've been looking at it critically in regards to all the other games I"ve played and it just doesn't stand out. I still like it very much (I give it an 8/10), but it's not the best it can be. The potential's there for Bioware to have the sequel come out swiggin' next time. As it is, though, I can't feel motivated to re-play it over and over again (I easily played ME1, alone, at least fifty times). I haven't even finished my second play-through of Andromeda. I wish there were risk taken with the game in terms of story and characters, this game's too safe. I also hate hate hate open-world games (don't want to walk for fifteen real world minutes in a game just to drop something off ). There are too many things that are put in the game just to be there (scanning, most sidequest, etc.), and though I like the squad AI in this game best in the series, the combat itself bores me (even on Insanity). I can't even feel motivated to go play the stuff I haven't even done before.

I'm afraid not. When the tapestry is bare bones, uninspiring and fallacious, nothing would change unless there is a re-weaving. That is unlikely to happen.

My opinion hasn't really changed. I enjoyed the game for what it is, but i never had high expectations to begin with. I am going to replay it when they iron out New game plus bugs, and if the DLC is good i will buy it.
