I had no opinion before release, only concerns. Now I'm pleased with the game, minus a few irritations. Like forever cold Voeld.
One thing I'm more than happy with. DLC Citadel was always the best of Bioware, IMHO, because of the smart repartee and humor. Put any two team members in the Nomad and drive around, and the endless chatter is excellent. It's worth skipping "fast travel" just to hear it.

Stopped playing because I wasn't enjoying it. Patch isn't going to fix what I don't like about it. So, no, opinion hasn't changed.

gave it a 6 for my first PT. Since there aren't going to be anymore, it remains a 6 and won't move from there.

Since, while I may have imagination running around somewhere in my head, I don't have the talent or skill to put anything close to this together my opinion on this hasn't changed a whit. I'm grateful to the people who did all this work. I'm enjoying it. Some bits irk me, some bits I love... and some give the feels. Things that are broken, I have faith, will be fixed. Things that don't, or can't... well... I refer to my first statement.

I still like the game. It is still about an 80 for me. Been taking a break from it to do a playthrough of DAI. A game that is so similar but still so different from MEA. DAI is a game that has grown on me over time and I suspect MEA will grow on me to. Still like the trilogy more.

Since I uninstalled at 60~ish hours in because I couldn't take it anymore? No, my opinion hasn't changed. Since I tried rescuing the arks, seeing if that would return stability to the universe and then finding out my reward was, "Hey, good job!" and a slap on the back? No, my opinion hasn't changed. Knowing that all of this would take BioWare years of rewrites and voice recording which most people wouldn't play anyway? No, my opinion hasn't changed.
I could go on. But I think my point is made.

I'm starting to warm up to it. I think that patch made things a little better for me because the characters eyes and plastic stoic look of the characters was a bit creepy. After establishing some outposts, i'm starting to feel a bit more involved in the story, but only because i feel i'm making a difference finally. I still feel the overall story is lacking a bit, but as i mentioned in other threads, the game starts to be a bit more interesting once you get to Kadara and Elaaden and Aya.
I've done Drack and Cora's loyalty missions so far and both of those were pretty good.....just really impressed with the environments and art direction this game implements....so idk...i was highly critical of this game when it first came out, mostly because of the look of Sara/animations/ plastic doll visuals, but the patch made things better and i guess once i got to play the game for myself......well for me the game isn't the end of the franchise as some was going about on youtube (i mean folks are saying this was the end)
Story is a bit meh, (especially in the beginning) and that is a major flaw since the first 5- 20 min of any game should be able to pull you in automatically but i founfd myself just goin' through the motions until waaay later on in the game. In any case, it's going to be tough to top the Reaper storyline where the entire galaxy was exposed to the threat, but I'm feeling the good definitely outweighs the bad here, because this game is just so huge...and i'm nowhere near to completing it....

I didn't follow the game before release, rather pointedly. I wanted no hype to get disappointed over. I'd say it worked out for me, I was surprised for better or worse by a good number of things but on the whole I had a good time on my first playthrough.
All in all the game isn't the best game in the franchise imo, but it's still a very good, very fun game that I'm enjoying quite a bit.
In short I didn't have an opinion to be changed so my current opinion of the game is quite favorable (if we're talking about SP at least).

I am still really disappointed. This is so far the only Mass Effect where I just stopped playing and moved on to other games before ever finishing. I do plan on returning to the game and earning the Platinum trophy, but I have little attachment to this game like I did the others.
To me, the thing they screwed up on the most was the world building, or the lack thereof. With the original trilogy (as early as just the first game), I felt like I was part of a living, breathing world (or galaxy). You may only see a tiny portion of galactic civilization in the first game, but I actually felt like it could really exist. Here, I just feel like there is absolutely nothing outside what I am actually shown. It's as though there is nothing outside these few colonies and those couple of settlements of whatever that new race was called. It's hard to describe, and part of it I know is because we are basically founding a new civilization for ourselves instead of being dropped into an existing one of thousands of years worth of history, but I don't think that excuses the overall lack of world building outside of what we are building for ourselves.
The glitches are annoying, but those aren't what made me lose interest. I just couldn't care about the world this game was showing us. Maybe an Andromeda 2 can fix this.

I find myself enjoying it more on susequent playthroughs. Had the same with DA:I. The first time you play the game there's just so much shit going on and shit to do that you can't see the forest through the trees. On subsequent playthroughs you can structure everything much better. Sure, you can have the opinion that Bioware should structure it better for you, but I don't share this opinion. I find I'm the opposite. My initial PT is always super slow (as in long hours invested) and attentive. I have to be careful not to become formulaic and ruthlessly efficient on subsequent playthroughs. Knowing all of the wheres, whats and hows, I can easily start doing things in a neatly organized fashion, and lose some of the simple joy of the story. I actually reminded myself of this with HZD, and did the same during my third PT of MEA. Maybe I've turned over a new leaf? As to the OP and poll, I think I have actually changed my mind, a bit. I already liked the game from the start. Now, having played 1.05 nearly double the time I played its predecessor, my bugs are minimal for a huge, new game. Also, playing now on PS4 Pro, with a really nice TV, has allowed me to appreciate more of the effort put into this game. There are details everywhere that I never got to see at 1080p. The lighting, textures and colors have added to my enjoyment and appreciation of their efforts.

I'm liking it a little more atm. 3rd pt new gender and the patch are getting me back to where I was a bit after launch. So I'm slightly more positive about it right now which might even be why I made this thread come think of it. So thanks I guess?

It felt like you were listening to real people get to know each other. I swear I listened to Jaal get bored with PeeBee and then turn around and go full player mode on Cora. "Do you mean hot? Or, Hhhot?"

Nope. I liked the game after my first PT and liked it the same after my second. Now I'm just waiting for DLC and more patches. Maybe my opinion will change once everything is done with the game.

My opinion has changed after finishing the game, in the beginning I was enjoying it but as I gradually got through the game it started to show its flaws and went downhill from there. In the end it was not a bad game but not a great game either, it was average at best with many flaws, some alright moments but I would never play through it again which says it all really.
Really disappointed.
