Chaos often is the best companion ;p Logical games are great but they kinda predict outcomes somewhat? Hence diving into the 'unknown' can be really adventurous

Chaos often is the best companion ;p Logical games are great but they kinda predict outcomes somewhat? Hence diving into the 'unknown' can be really adventurous Think that might be why Soccer is so popular. The best team does not always win. ...Maybe not even close to as often "as it should". The other team always has a chance. If I'm right about that, any rule change to make Soccer more just, in terms of outcome, like bigger goals etc, would be a mistake. More goals, rules for more goals, is not necessarily good for Soccer, even if everybody say they want exactly that, for entertainment value. 🤔

Cluedo is, IMO, a better game design than Monopoly. But Monopoly is a better social board game. Because in Cluedo, only I win, all the time. I can appreciate that that's not fun for the others 🙁. Monopoly, otoh, is a chaos of gloating, despair, triumph and cruel laughter that anyone can win. Apparently, that's much more fun. 🤔 If you want all out chaos (at least in our house) get the game of RISK out. My dad is an absolute tyrant, even turned on my mom whom he had allied with right from the start....Then he marched his troops across the Western Front, taking much of Central and North Africa and set his sights across THe Pond. Well, my mom didn't take kindly to that! She scattered the board and threw the pieces at him....then swore she'd never play RISK again and as long as I've been alive, she hasn't. And that is also the reason she hates, dispises and loathes Board Games or any form of competition- even the so-called 'friendly' type. My money is a Backgammon and Cribbage. Much more civilized.

I think I'm familiar with Risk. One of my buddies had it when I was a kid, and a gang of us tried to play it. A couple of times even, if I remember. It gives the player who gains an early advantage just more advantage. Most of the players don't really take part in the game for the win. No, what I was observing, is that a game that leaves a lot to chance, rather than skill, and provides for swings of fortune, is a better social, Christmas board game. Monopoly is actually pretty dam good at those things. I wonder if there are other games like that.

Rat Race. I'll try find it. Anyway, I hope everyone is well? In this weather. Or well enough? I'm not home, so have no access to my Bunnahabhain or Balvenie. But I have a large Cognac VSOP instead, it'll have to do. I'll go very slow with it. I'm sort of half-isolated, avoided and alone, because I've developed symptoms of a cold. I think, and hope it's just a common cold. But no more Monopoly for me. It's okay, because I won the last round . Unfortunately, I have two acquaintances who I fear are not doing well at all. They are on opposite sides of the war. I don't blame the Russian guy. He could not have known or imagined that he would be forced to participate in this insane hell. I have not heard from either since summer. So what the hell do I do now? I suppose I'll read a book or play some PC game. 🤔...Or maybe write some stuff again, was a while. Merry Christmas etc. 🎄 ✨ 🎁

My wound is still treated by nurses. It's many months now. The fun part is that you get to know some of them a bit better. Here are two examples. One lady is interesting. It turns out she is only a few years younger than me and we went to the same school. It was fun to exchange stories about the teachers. And to my surprise she recognized Bootsy Collins. Another nurse, who is often here, is a "gamer". I never thought I would met one, but he is a Fifa-fan. Haha. I had to be careful not to offend him. But at least he knows that the monetizing sucks. He was also aware of something involving Activision-Blizzard. Note that the guy is educated, but when it comes to games he has no clue. People like him, just play their games and are generally not interested in the news surrounding those games.

I just got back my hearing on my right ear. - What a relief. And what a difference! Left is still deaf, but I now expect it to come back too.

So I guess it will still take 3 to 5 months. But there is progress.

Well, my streak in Brilliant came to an end, after 149 days. Not my fault. The site reset my counter, I have no idea why. Maybe they did some kind of reboot. Oh well, reduces pressure on me, because now I don't care about that any longer.

I have found ours in the fridge a few times. Not the garage though. Damned Gnomes. ... I may never find Jesus. That's nobody's fault but mine. But Jesus is just alright with me. I heard that Jesus just left Chicago. My personal Jesus is named Jones, right here, right now... but that's just a band. Final note - Do not assume the Jesus Christ Pose. Whether you are a good Christian or not, you are not Jesus and posing as him, or his pops, is blasphemy. The person who told me to do these things, has learned this today. There is sometimes a small justice in the world, and I will take what I can get.

Today we had snow! Which I like because the world looks so clean and crisp when covered in a fresh white blanket. Not so fun when having to head out and the roads not being cleared yet en my lil smurf kinda slithers over the road. Did go out though and happy I did because catched up with someone over coffee I had not seen in years.

Which isn’t a real place, an elf told me.

PC or console? If PC, there are some really excellent bug fix, restored dialog and codex entry mods that make the game much more complete. It's always fun to hear a line or conversation that I've never heard before in my (ahem) many runs through the trilogy. Not exactly a bug fix, but there is a mod to restore Kelly to her original ME2 appearance. Personally, I stay away from the mesh mods ... periodically a new bug fix or update to the community patches and frameworks occur. ME3Tweaks mod manager makes it easy-peasy, if you add mesh mods, restoring to vanilla game to install new non-mesh mods isn't difficult ... It's just that I'm lazy and the mesh mods just aren't that big a deal to me.

Speaking of coyotes..... On my hike today there was a pack of 6 coyotes on the frozen river, they went up the bank right where I usually go for part two of my hike. A really big one came up the bank and was on the path in front of me. No fear at all, just did not give a f'ck.
Since there are a lot of hikers and bikers and skiers and dog walkers (and a dog off leash park nearby) I figure only a matter of time before there is a major coyote human conflict.
