Today I managed to pierce my thumb with a sharp piece of hard baked pizza crust. Yep, incredible as it sounds. And the inserted end immediately got wet and soft, so I failed to extract it. Nevermind, it should be totally sterile from the heat. It's many hours since now and there is no problem... - oh oh, maybe, it's a bit red and sore, but just very locally.

I totally believe you, you can definitely hurt yourself with food. I don't remember how many times I stabbed my gums bloody with sharp pieces of potato chips, and one time I stabbed myself with a partly uncooked noodle.

But this time I was cultivated and had cut it in slices. As I was holding a piece of a slice, my thumb supporting the underside edge, I suddenly felt as if a needle or scalpel point pierced the side of my thumb. I was: What the H***, expecting to see something that shouldn't have been in the pizza. But no, it was just a small sharp triangular piece of hard, thin surface of the crust. I tried to pull it out, but only outside part came away, the rest not strong enough. I tried to scratch & flush most of the rest out, think it went well enough. And as I said, it should have been highly sterile.

Dude! If.....IF you don't mind the question--please feel free to decline....But what happened??? I hope you're okay. I sadly always suffer from inflamed intestines around late winter/early spring, this time around its been bad enough to warrant a checkup in the hospital, they decided to check my stomach as well (gastroscopy). They found my stomach a little raw, so without my knowledge or consent they gave me medications for it. This exact medication MUST NOT, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES be given to people with inflamed bowels as it is known to make the inflammations so terrible it can become life threating from constant blood loss - as it did in my case. The idiot doctors did not know that. And in fact, as I was already in terrible condition from the first dosage they wanted to give me a second, even larger dosage of that stuff, with a half-life of 5 days. That would've killed me. Luckily I could stop them just before the application. Well, I'm not ok, I have to take serious medications to get that inflammation under control again and the last 5 days were easily the worst of my life, I feel like total garbage and I wont be able to go back to work anytime soon, but at least I'm not bleeding to death anymore. Last two years the inflammations were so tiny I didn't even have to do anything but watch my diet and keep away from stress, and now this. I need a vacation. Dang, that does sound awful. I am glad you feel a little bit better. Hang in there, Beetle!
Ah don't worry, I'm like weed or shrub nobody wants, you can stomp me, spray me, rub me to pieces, I keep growing back harder and nastier.
As we say here in Spain "Mala hierba nunca muere" or "Bad weeds never die"

And forget about knife and fork, what you did was, you broke them in two and started eating towards the edge.

OT: Two days of gardening done, I plan to continue today. Felled five maples, which sounds very manly thing to do, but they were small, maybe 10" in diameter. Disclaimer: There's plenty of trees left.

Since Sunday and including today, I've woken up at 12:30 a.m. with a full-on Meniere's attack each night that lasts until 4:00. Then, of course, because I don't get a lot of sleep, and what sleep I did get had been interrupted...I have experienced a second attack later in the morning between 9 and 9:30 when I'm in the middle of work. Early Monday and Tuesday morning have been the absolute worst; I fell out of bed because I was so dizzy from the vertigo....then had to crawl on my hands and knees to the bathroom, but lay on the floor unable to move because of the vertigo and couldn't do what nature intended because I was so overwhelmingly dizzy. And the ringing in my ears, the loudest, most piercing and painful thing....Ugh.
When I have even one bad episode if it's longer than 30 minutes, it takes me nearly two days to recover and feel normal again. But when I have several of them back to back every night, each of them lasting more than 3 hours....I don't want to do anything. I honestly feel like I can't even function. So I survive on coffee...But caffeine in turn increases the tinnitus so I make myself feel even worse still.
Thankfully, I am working from home...and if I really need to I can go crash on my bed and sleep it off.

I mean, I do have a mild case of tinnitus due to chronic otitis media and it's already quite disturbing, so again, I can't imagine how awful it must be for you! And besides that vertigo, dizziness and such... I send you a virtual hug, buddy (not that it's going to make you feel better but anyways lol)!
On a side note, my day was pretty busy, a little bit more than usual, but there's nothing noteworthy there. However, my 5 years old nice "wrote" a quite....disturbing song today, I mean, she was singing it while playing with her dolls. It goes like this:
"I looked at him and he looked at me So I hit him and he hit me I bled, so did he, So I invited him for a dance I smiled and he smiled He was eaten by a crocodile"

As father of a five-year-old, that's just classic kid stuff! I remember when my boy was three, he cooked up a song:
Alina is shooting at the station
Alina is crying on a big rock Go away Go away
Still no idea what that was all about.

But when she said that we were staying in my parents' place, which is a house. And we were staying there for more than a week. So there was no people above..Just mice in the attic .
How are you feeling, btw? Better I hope!

Maybe she was speaking in council with the King of the Mice and with Reepicheep Thanks for asking Swoop....Felt wicked on Friday and very early yesterday (Saturday) morning, but as the day went on yesterday I felt better. So we'll see how today goes.....I can never tell how the days are going to go. I appreciate your concern. Hugs from a bunny

Dropped my phone, cracked the display. Dropped my headset, the right loudspeaker cracked and fell off. I'm a clumsy idiot. Nothing goes right lately. Sorry. I hate dropping things and breaking them by accident...especially when they were expensive. That is why I try to take extremely good care of my things, such as my Logitech G935s. Whenever I am finished with them I always put them back in the packaging that I received them in from Amazon because it is an envelope that is lined with foam and bubble wrap. My parents think I'm obsessive for how I look after things, but that is what they taught me: When you buy something with your hard-earned money, if you want it to last you a long time....Take care with how you use it and how you treat it. And yes, I know, sometimes accidents happen....I have damaged many things I own because of accidental droppage or whatnot. Even lost items of monetary or sentimental value because of accidents or carelessness. And it upsets me, sometimes for weeks on end. But I learn from my mistakes and try to be even more careful in the future....And that is all you can do.

On my daily 1 1/2 hour hike in the park today I saw the following:
Canada Goose: Branta canadensis Mallard Duck: Anas platyrhynchos Common Goldeneye Duck: Bucephala clangula Lesser Scaup Duck: Aythya affinis Common Crow: Corvus brachyrhynchos Black-capped Chickadee: Poecile atricapillus Ring-billed Gull: Larus delawarensis Franklins Gull: Larus pipixcan (Some other really small Gull I cannot identify yet, it might be a Tern rather than a gull)
Red Squirrel: Tamiasciurus hudsonicus Richardson Ground Squirrel: Citellus richardsoni North American Beaver :Castor canadensis
and of course the less desirable animals...
Humans: Homo sapiens and their Dogs: Canus Lupis familiarius
