Just be careful Beetle, doing that with a coat hanger....Even with a "Slim Jim" can really bugger up the locking mechanisms. You can also separate and damage the rubber seals around the windows that provide sound and weathering insulation. Both are costly repairs that would not fall under warranty. Happy it worked, because locking your keys in your car (without a service like GM's ON STAR to call for assistance) is a total pain. But for the longevity of the car, I would not get into the habit of doing that every time. Yeah, a coat hanger can be bit tricky, but it is the only way to get in to some cars. I always keep plastic packaging strap in my car, just in case someone needs help. It has come handy, but people always give me that look when I open their car door in 30 seconds.

"You've done this way too many times...." Precisely! When in reality car doors are pretty easy to open, if you know how the mechanics of it works. And the locks are rubbish. My buddy locked himself out of his UK built Ford, and I opened the door with my car keys, and I wasn't driving a Ford!

My day's not bad. Had an online counseling session with my therapist this afternoon. With Singapore receiving harsher quarantine measures (implemented since last Sunday), more and more of my appointments are now done online, including meet-ups with friends and my local geek culture groups. This has forced me to think about buying a webcam and a microphone tomorrow. It's probably a good thing since I always had to rely on my phone('s camera) for online Zoom sessions, and were it not for these new covid measures, I would've been too lazy to get off my ass and buy a proper camera and mic.

I should make youtubes of my carpentry fails. I could call it "The Unhandy Man" So I make and install a new kitchen counter top, do a pretty nice job of it. Then I have to add wood trim to the front part of the counter. I get the pieces all nicely measured, they are a wee bit over sized but no problem they just have to cover the existing and get them stained and wood preserved. Then I install them (wood glue) let them set over night. All looks well. Then after making morning coffee I go to get a spoon out of my utensil drawer....."Thunk!...thunk!" What the hell? I then realized with utter horror that I did not drawer test the measurement before installing trim. The trim is just too big and is blocking two of my drawers from opening. So I had to pry them off, take them out to the garage/woodshop, cut off 1/4 inch and bring them back in and will have to reglue. And yes this time I checked for drawer clearance.

Had a really bad day. Lost a lot of friends and had to leave my geek culture group because of one idiot that I argued with. It got so ugly that I felt embarrassed to stay behind after the whole incident.
Oh well. I'm used to that kind of thing. Just another day, another failure in socialization. I have unresolved anger issues that I'm seeing a therapist for... Not sure if it will ever help my situation though.

I have unresolved anger issues that I'm seeing a therapist for... Not sure if it will ever help my situation though. Hi, I know nothing about you, but I'm going to give you some advice regardless. It's up to you whether you take me seriously; I'm just a randon dude on the internet.
People do embarrassing things, it's a fact. We all do things we wish later, we hadn't. Yes, it feels like the end of the world right after, but as time goes on, it loses it's importance. My advice, which you are free to ignore, is to shrug it off. If the group is important to you, act like it never happened. Or own it up, and come clean about your anger issues. I realise this is a taboo in some cultures, so ymmv.
As someone who has had years of therapy, I recommend you continue seeing your therapist, whatever your issues may be. It's sometimes a long road.
About me: I'm old, closer to 50, a nerd and a gamer, living in Europe.

Yeah, I guess the group was pretty important. It gave me a purpose when I was drifting through life without direction. I was able to connect with people who loved geek culture as much as me (comics, movies, Star Wars, MCU, you name it). But as usual, I screwed that good life up in less than a month. Heh. It's kinda scary how much I'm used to this routine of meeting new friends and leaving them... It's almost like I had even expected to leave them at some point. Can't really say I could just act like it never happened though. Even though the group organizers didn't technically say it, I'm pretty sure I'm banned from the group. Damn, I have a potty mouth. But that's how angry I was. No matter how much the other members asked both of us to stop, I couldn't listen because all I could think about was hurting that guy for making me feel small and helpless. I wanted to show him that I'm not one to be bullied. Well, I sure showed him alright. But anyway, like I said, a lot of childhood insecurities that were built up to this screwed up personality today, still ever in a fight-or-flight attitude, still that bullied school kid fighting against the world. My therapist's got her work cut out for her. It's going to be a long road alright. But my future is so grim and unclear that I'd much rather just escape into my video games and TV shows. Real life and real people are too much of a pain. I've tried dealing with them for 21 years (I'm 31 so I'm not counting the first 10 years when I was too young to "deal" with anything).

I screwed that good life up in less than a month. Maybe my input is pointless, but don't beat yourself up for this, and other mistakes, own them, learn from them and try to be the best person you can! Improvement is not a destination, but a journey, and I am sure you'll get there. Keep working on whatever issues you my have, I am rooting for you!

My day was good...But it just got a whole lot better since I learned that golf courses and driving ranges are now OPEN in Ontario! (as of yesterday at Midnight)
I haven't even held a golf club in over a year...But I don't care. I'm going to get out to play ASAFP

I'm going to get out to play ASAFP I know how that feels, in the past 2 years I could visit the shooting range only for 3 times due to the lockdowns, its a tragedy. Fortunately I have my whole weight lifting equipment at home, I wouldn't have been able to visit any of the gyms either. That would have been......devastating. Lets hope things keep getting better and that they stay that way.

I think I am going senile..... Even though this is the first mistake of this nature I've made it is a laughably bad one. So I pay all my bills via my banking web site. I get a bill for my cable and internet today which is double of it's normal value. Harmuph...I am positive I paid last months bill. I find my paper work and sure enough I paid it. Need to check my bank web site now and find out for sure.....I paid the amount but accidentally paid it to my phone bill company. Not only that just the other day I paid my phone bill as normal. My cable bill is 5 times as much as my land line bill! Thus I have a huge -$150 balance for my phone bill now and do indeed owe my cable provider a double bill. Oh well I won't have to pay another phone bill for another 5 months or so. My stupid phone bill just shows as a $0 balance on the paper bill and electronic bill UNLESS you sign on to your account and then it shows the big negative balance.

My day is crap at the moment....My PC is acting up again, same issues as before. It started again randomly last night just after 8:15 pm. I've tried doing Windows Repair, System Restores and a whole new Factory Reset of Windows....and nothing has worked. Im going to have to go back to using my older SSD, but I don't think that will solve the problem.
My dad suspects my GPU is fubar'd....But I'm not getting any other typical GPU warning signs like BSODs or Black Screens etc. I strongly suspect my 970 M.2 is the culprit....and it does have a 5 year warranty.
But at this point I'm so PO'd that I want to just scrap it all and buy completely new stuff.

I have bronchitis and am still convalescing, so you'll have to excuse me if I ramble.
If you felt that you were bullied, it's no wonder you got mad. Bullies have to be countered, I know that from experience.
I've found, that there is no such thing as a normal personality. We are all screwed up in some way, that is to say we all have issues. And that's why therapy is so useful, it teaches us to work those issues, so they don't prevent us from living our lives. Now, I'm not saying, that that bullied kid somehow becomes happy-go-lucky through therapy, no. But he may become happy enough to feel that life is worthwhile. And he may be able to put behind him some issues.
The future is always grim and uncertain, that's for sure. But again, it's the same for everyone. It's quite okay to reset to defaults and to live day by day. It's when you start feeling better and stronger, that you start making plans again. And don't blame yourself for escaping into games. Studies show that gaming alleviates depression, so it's actually beneficial behavior. Our brains need escapism, who knew!

Had deadlift training today and couldn't find my lifting straps (that go around the wrists and the bar and help the fingers holding the weight) and my chalk, so I had to do 5 sets of 6 repetitions 200kg/440lbs deadlifts without any help for my fingers at all. I can hardly uncurl my fingers now. Great grip training but I don't want to do that again anytime soon.

I've been alone for a week. F went visiting her parents for the first time in years. I couldn't come, because I have a number of appointments of various kinds that I have to mind. But I think both her parents and I are okay with that. But I have made observations that have me wondering if I'm insane. The first thing that happened was that I discovered the TV remote in a completely crazy place. I cannot even imagine how it got there, as it's not a thing I thought I would ever do. Why did I carry away the remote controller and put it down there? And I have no memory of doing it. Another thing I noted the other day, was that the Coke, milk and juice in the fridge, were all still almost full or full. After a week? And there were still 4 cans of beer left in my 6-pack. And I haven't been drinking any water. So what have I been drinking? 😲 Coffee in the morning. Two half cans of beer. That's all. I have become a Camel. No wonder I have a kidney stone and my pee is dark. Why don't I feel thirst? So I started to drink water yesterday. A mug now and then during the day, and by the night my urine was getting light. So I was feeling good about that and thinking I felt better physically. Then I discovered something else. During that whole day I had been playing Civ V, continuously for 13 hours! Completely crazy. Today I took a long 5 mile walk, to get the blood flowing again. Feel much better now.

I had been playing Civ V, continuously for 13 hours! Completely crazy. That's not so much crazy as it is normal for a gamer. Unfortunately it is the cause of your water balance problems. The valves in your veins need muscle activity to work and that activity is pretty minimal while playing. This is a simplified version, but basically water accumulates into your extremities and new water won't be taken in. So, no movement > veins won't return water > no thirst. This can be dangerous in the long run, as it promotes blood clots and kidney and bladder stones. I've been thinking about getting a standing desk, that would solve a lot of problems I have.

Please don't do that. If you damage your joints you are more likely to develop arthritis. Always do your utmost to protect your fingers. You are going to need them for decades to come.
Right, I'm beginning to sound like the attending here. Please tell me if you are getting tired of it. I'll tone down.
