Now presenting the Patch 1.05 Combo Damage Table! Hopefully this remains relevant for at least a week or so. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jWfWiZyng5hcywFdpvnjA48sud4CPCyRwSmQeDBrqjE/edit#gid=0General Explanation: There are 3 classes of primer and 3 classes of detonator, which I call Light, Medium, and Heavy. These combine into 9 different combo damage values. Some of the combos are lower damage than others because they have extra effects or DOTs. Extra info about the damage pools: Right now (patch 1.05) the match host's single player difficulty setting determines ALL base combo damage in the game (affects all players present). As an example, here are the biotic combo values:
EDIT: Several other mechanics are dependent on your SP difficulty setting as well! So far it's: combo damage, armor DR, player shield gate invulnerability time, and possibly others. More testing to confirm.
Biotic Detonations | Heavy Detonator | Medium Detonator | Light Detonator | Insanity | 350 | 262.5 | 175 | Hardcore | 315 | 236.25 | 157.5 | Normal | 275 | 206.25 | 137.5 |
(Narrative difficulty is the same as Normal) There is a to do list there, because while I'm pretty sure about the multipliers for shields and armor, I haven't tested them as extensively as I did against HP. If I find anything groundbreaking I'll update the whole caboodle, but for now I'm content with a note. Guys - the differences are pretty tiny regardless. I bet you won't "feel" any improvement on gold past maybe placebo.
But is was puzzling for us to figure it out. We like consistent/repeatable/explainable behavior ..

Guys - the differences are pretty tiny regardless. I bet you won't "feel" any improvement on gold past maybe placebo. But is was puzzling for us to figure it out. We like consistent/repeatable/explainable behavior .. Even if you didn't spec into a lot of the combo damage bonuses on certain evos and went for faster cooldowns etc and then respecced into all damage bonuses after switching to insanity mode?

I'm almost certain, barring a major rework, that we will keep the light/medium/heavy mechanic even if they fix the difficulty scaling. Which means people should consider in their builds whether or not they're getting "strong" or "weak" combos.

Even if this is a minimal damage increase by switching to insanity, it will still help kill baddies quicker which in result means less time grinding for my shitty Ushior that I will indefinitely max out before ever seeing a BW I.
You guys deserve some of the stickiest of the icky and the finest bottle of wine Boone's Farm has to offer. Screw that good wine, you need to spend that money on the dank herb.

Changing your difficulty will not necessary give you more damage, the game works off the host. So the host needs to have his game to insanity for the damage increase to work.

WTF????????????? How is this even possible? One hypothetical possibility is that some intern was responsible for this part of the combos and actually did a good job, they do scale with difficulty. So, technically speaking, there is nothing wrong with them combos. Wrong difficulty, not his/her fault. Probably reported as working as intended and everything is peachy, even got some bonus paycheck for job well done. Now, weapons with focus in DAIMP, that is another story. I'm still puzzled at finding any explanation for that. Especially considering it was never fixed.
