But the point she was making is larger than just the writers, unless writers are the sole source of decisions, which they're not. Even if that would be the case entirely, my point still stands. But I'm not surprise that was skipped over in favor of pointing out something redundant. I can't speak of Natashina behalf, but when I read "writer team" instead of "the devs" as we usually write when we speak in general terms about Bioware I got she was stating, in fact, the writing teamm who is the one who decides if there is a space homophobe/racist/etc. character. Manveer the one who must not be named has no power in the writing room as far as we know And it's true: we had space racism against other alien especies or humans (Ashley and Garrus ME1, Javik ME3) but NEVER space homophobia. |

They haven't done any homophobic reactions in any BioWare game, they aren't going to start now. Well, the player character can come across harshly in some circumstances. However, never with the other characters. There's no reason to, in either Mass Effect or in Dragon Age. In ME, no one gives a crap. Most people don't care and medical science takes care of any reproduction issues. In DA, again, no one gives a crap unless you're a noble and need to produce some heirs. They use non-human races in their games most of the time to do analogies to racism, homophobia and the like. No one on the writing team has ever expressed a racist (towards any skin tone,) sexist or phobic point of view. So there shouldn't need to be a concern there. As an aside, I hate Twitter. It was about how his father was willing to use blood magic to try to mindwipe Dorian. It was about the fact that Dorian refused to marry the girl and defied his father. Honestly, take out any reference to preferring men and the story changes very little. Also, David Gaider is no longer with the company and he never had anything to do with ME anyhow. PD: I had those problems touching the damned screen of my mobile phone every day  Seems I managed to typo even in my edit  You can no longer add the MEA trial into your Origin library at all. And those who added it when you could, but had also pre-ordered the game, had it removed from their library aswell a few days ago when EA took their money. Only people with the trial and visible DL times atm are people who added it earlier and didnt pre-order yet. I know this because I got Access yesterday and the trial was un-addable so I ended up googling a lot 18th as the date has so far only appeared in that one article. But it's money on the line so people, me included, are touchy! Hopefully it was just a terrible typo from an intern. Oh my... really??? What a mess!  So sorry for you guys 
I have my trial on my count since 4th of March or something and I didn't preorder yet so I get that's why I had itI feel like a chosen one  |

The whole "no bigots allowed" line, when considered with the "yup, and so are you" line (or whatever it was) could very well be Jaal complaining about aliens on the ship or something. Or... (this is speculation) If the kett and the Angara are linked (through genetically engineering or both are different evolution of the same especies) maybe Jaal is against the revelation |

It could be that he's not interested in men and says something offensive to male Ryder if you try to flirt with him due to how outspoken Angara are. Probably not on the level of "kill the gays!", but just being honest about finding it repulsive.  |

Also, I tried not to read too much spoilers about his character and the Angara. But what I read about him he takes most of the things literally and he struggles with idioms and sarcasm So I think even when Garrus asks about "human/English" idioms in ME3, he is absolutely sarcastic so...  So...  ? I wonder if they're going full Marvel... I expect a moment like this one with Playable Ryder |

For once it would be great if the problem of romance an alien was romance an alien, NO THE SEX OF THE ALIEN (^by the way, we are the aliens^ ) Yeah that culture part pretty much confirmed him as a both option. I mean if he wants Ryder, he'll get Ryder. Probably loyalty gated, if you save the angarans (trophy spoiler) he'll fall for you. The only obstacle is another romance flag or the player choice. Jaal doesn't do it for me, but his voice is veeeery nice. EDIT: Not sure why people on some of the comments think Jaal is the new Garrus though... We know next to nothing about him and yet comparisons are already being made. Rather strange to me.
