As a (very) remote worker, Skype is something of a necessity for him - although with different divisions dotted across North America, it's not unusual for BioWare to communicate with its staff from afar. "It's a multi-studio company spread across Edmonton, Montreal [which developed Mass Effect Andromeda] and Austin [home to Star Wars: The Old Republic]," he continues, "though yes - it doesn't have guest writers, as a rule." Kennedy writes during UK working hours, fitted around childcare. His day starts catching up on emails and IM conversations from Canada overnight. After that, he fires up "the toolkit" - the software used to write BioWare's games - and gets to work. Meetings with BioWare generally take place in his late afternoon, when the studio's Edmonton mothership has awoken and had its morning coffee. "What I can say is I have been given considerable autonomy to work on a storyline bit of lore which is well-segregated from other parts of the game," Kennedy teases, "which makes a lot of sense with me being remote. And yes, if you've seen a lot of my work before you will probably not be surprised by the choice of subject matter. It's familiar stuff." I don't want to exaggerate the degree of the chunk [I'm writing]," Kennedy quickly adds. "It's more analogous to Patrick Weekes writing [Mass Effect character] Mordin than me being told to go off and write a whole different country... It's nothing that grandiose, but it is distinct. It's a bit of lore which has not been addressed much to date in Dragon Age." Each quest tied to this section of the game is planned out by Kennedy over a four-day cycle. "I have one wall of my flat covered with whiteboard vinyl," he explains. "One day will be breaking the story on the whiteboard wall for a proper scrawly arrows serial killer effect. [After that, it's] one day creating a skeleton of the quest with placeholder text in the editor; one day fleshing out dialogue; one day for contingency and admin." Just how big is the Dragon Age team now within BioWare? "It started out small..." Kennedy says, pausing. "I have to be careful what I say. Obviously, BioWare has completed one public project recently so that has freed up some resource. The team is growing."

"Dread or alive"... Heh. The "guy you get when you can't have Chris Avellone" sucks, because I put both of them on the same level. I also hope that Bioware hires Avellone as well. I want to see both of them on the games I love. And Bioware NEEDS to hire Avellone in the next Star Wars game. Imagine Drew Karpyshyn, Chris Avellone and Alexis Kennedy on a single project! Throw in Mike Laidaw and Mark Darrah because I love them as well and holy shit.

But not impossible, considering that Fallout 4 did it. Granted was on a much smaller scale and not everyone said the players name, but it can be done. I think a teaser trailer at EA Play has certainly gone up in odds, at least to me.

He is in a secret project. Might be Dylan, but I think it's way past writing now. Also, we know that there is some other secret project going on in Bioware Austin. Personally I have a good guess what it might be, but I'm probably wrong. Or maybe not.

If I had to choose I would much rather have a Scott/Sara fixed name then letting the player choice their name. Because in certain situations (especially romances) its awkward that the companion doesn't know your first name.

Yep, another DA game.
I expect crappy new combat mechanics, that once again, we must learn all over again. Don't forget the excellent submarine ping, Elf Root gathering animations and super mage blinding pyrotechnics.
If Bio does it right, I'm hoping for a Tevinter story during the Imperium's height of power. New characters better cinematic animations than ME:A, good looking babes (no SJW shyte), no gorilla walking animations, meaningful quests, excellent menu navigation and inventory management with side-by-side stats comparisons of what you are wearing vs what you are crafting. Sadly, I believe we will be saddled with crap menu navigation and crafting mechanics.
Story wise, the Grey Wardens should have the use of Griffons. The dwarves should have more powerful underground Thaigs and the Qunari may be attacking the Empire.
Characters = mage, warden, dwarf, a templar, an elf, a knight and a seeker (no BULL) and the CC ? I'm not holding my breath.
MP = console combat design... enough said.
Game file saves? = same as ME:A

It's kind of embarrassing how little it takes for me to get excited over the tiniest bit of dragon age news. Technically, this isn't even news, we pretty much knew all this stuff already, but just the thought that things *might* be revving up on DA4 is so thrilling! I'm such a dork.

Will Dragon Age 4 be in E3?! I doubt it, but most likely next year. I think the devs even hinted at that themself in a tweet not long back. The thing we'll see from Bioware at this E3 is most likely Dylan, the new IP.
