Hate to tell y'all but FO1 was superior to everything that came after. I've never played FO1. FO began with FO3. Fite me! Nah. FO1 had more options, really gave you a chance to see a wasteland that wasn't composed of pretty much recovered towns. Radio was mot a thing. How would it even exist? Even if your power armor had a receiver, who was transmitting? Synths were a little too much. Oh, and banging some girl and getting her pregnant OR banging her brother - either forces you to marry the person banged. Do you see any of that shit in FO3, FNV or FO4? No. Now, while kotaku rated FO2 as #1 and FO1 as #2, they're wrong.
What you suggest is the equivalent of this:

I'm simple cat. Are you suggesting I should play FO1? I have it downloaded when it was free on Steam a while back. Fallout 1 and 2 are the types of games I am not sure would be looked upon as favorably if you haven't played them in the eras they were made, like Baldur's Gate games for they are different. I would never tell someone to go out and buy them because of that, but if you have them I would suggest giving them a try with the acknowledgement that it was released in 1997. A word of warning, I found the Steam version to be nearly unplayable so I went and got the GoG version and didn't have any problems with it which is something I had experienced with Jade Empire as well.

Man, I loved Fallout 2. Best game in the series.

I am not sure if I would prefer a remaster or them going the porting of the original game to mobile platforms. Most of the games that I have gone back to play over the years seem to get the most time on my mobile. Final Fantasy 6, Jade Empire, and Knights of the Old Republic all gotten a lot of play time on my cellphone.

I would throw money at a remastered Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas for my ps4 New Vegas yes. I could take or leave FO3.
Though I can't play games on mobile platforms. The screens are just too small and I don't care much for touch screens.

My problem with CDPR is they might make game similar to BioWare, they don't have the same type of character development which is what I would expect from a BioWare and their associated IPs and what I look for in their games which is why I am not that worried about Anthem at this point for what I like is transferable between genres. A lot of the other things about BioWare games I play I could play other games for, but the character development is what makes a BioWare game unique compared to what I can get elsewhere. Of course that can always change with them making more games such as CDPR, but for now I would rather CDPR make CDPR games and BioWare make BioWare games. Well, each to his own but CDPR have shown a lot of promise when it comes to RPG games with great stories, choices that affects outcomes and the ending, and complex characters. Take Witcher 3 for example of how well made this game was compared to Inquisition. Hell, even Mike Laidlaw praised Witcher 3 how amazing it was, and he wished that Inquisition would've gone that direction with the game. And I still think that BioWare should partner with CDPR to make a Mass Effect game to regain people's trust, and to rebuild their reputation and not let EA dictate their development. I really do wonder if a game like that would really regain people's trust as you put it, for there is a far and wide diverse group of people that play BioWare games and I am not sure if a single approach would really do anything aside from probably making one group happen and another upset. I know for me if they made a Mass Effect game and it plays out like a Witcher game I wouldn't be interested for that is not how a BioWare game appeals to me and that seemed to be a problem people had with Andromeda by not being able to made Ryder feel like they were shaped by their choices. Just like for others how a game ends means very little its about the journey to get there, I think a blanket approach to try and make people happy is just a doomed mission before it starts.

What you suggest is the equivalent of this: I'm simple cat. Are you suggesting I should play FO1? I have it downloaded when it was free on Steam a while back. FO1 is great. It doesn't have an open world, and the things you find them are crazy. It would have been better to start with FO1 because you now know the players whereas, in FO1, everything would be new. I forget if it's FO1 or FO2 but we see one or more very interesting deathclaws. (I checked, it's FO2.) It can be difficult to go backward and play games that are significantly less polished, not as good graphics, etc. I think it's worth it. Bought that when it was new.

Me personally, BioWare should let CD Projekt Red to make a Mass Effect game. Like how Obsidian Entertainment did with Fallout: New Vegas. My problem with CDPR is they might make game similar to BioWare, they don't have the same type of character development which is what I would expect from a BioWare and their associated IPs and what I look for in their games which is why I am not that worried about Anthem at this point for what I like is transferable between genres. Of course that can always change with them making more games such as CDPR, but for now I would rather CDPR make CDPR games and BioWare make BioWare games. I agree. I've played the entire Witcher series (didn't care for TW1 but the others were nice). They do have some great RPG but stylistically they are very different than BioWare games. I don't think Mass Effect needs CDPR so much as an experienced writing team. (Bugs at launch are typical so the memes about MEA are badly outdated.)
Funny enough, while Anthem may be in BioWare style, I'm not playing it. It's an online game and my internet connection is known to slow down or even drop at times. Instead, I'll be playing Cyberpunk 2077. The thing is, I like a diversity of RPG games, not the same thing from every company. That shit will get boring fast.

I agree, I think that is why I might have enjoyed Andromeda as much as I did with the flaws I saw because it felt different. If it was just another Shepard type story about saving the galaxy it would have felt like a rehash. The funny thing for me is I had more interest in Cyberpunk until they released the gameplay preview, instead that got me more interested in just replaying the last two Deus Ex games, now that isn't me saying I won't buy it I just don't think it will be an early purchase now.

I'll be paying the $10 to buy it. Too bad Steam can't be bothered to make sure the games work.

Lets just say I think I have strong and yet very unpopular opinions on Steam.
