The kids are in their 20s, maybe 30s and wake up in Andromeda all grown up already (with cryo freezing, so they left MW in their 20s/30s too). So daddy is 40-50, has to be first generation of human biotics (and concieve those kids relatively early lol)

EDIT: Unless of course dadRyder ain't biotic at all and the kids were exposd in the 50s, making them Kaidan/Shepard/Miranda age

I guess the character creator will be like the one in Fallout 4, you'll be able to customize both the siblings, maybe you'll be able to customize the dad to.

I do hope they'll go with Fallout 4 route in customizing (if you want) both genders, and later one your parent.
Another thing I want is that the sibling doesn't have The same personality regardless of the gender.

i'm just hoping this family has some kind of hook that actually makes me invested and care about them rather than just use the excuse that they're family, so i have to care about them.

I don't think though that having a family, in itself, it's a terrible cliché. If well executed it can be a good feature, though I know you don't like a detailed background.

I'm happy about the reveal, honestly. I've been worried about this being DAI-lite, and the farther they get away from the nearly blank slate, one size fits all Inquisitor, the better in my opinion.

It could turn out to be a terribly written mess of railroading cliches, of course, but I don't see any reason to get all doom and gloom about it yet. We still have very little information on how this is all going to play out, after all.
