EA Conference Call touches on MEA's reception & future ME movie.

Difference is Naughty Dog's statements were Neil Druckmann who is a director-guy who cares about art. EA thinks it's good because they're forcing that smile and running a business.

In short, if Druckmann was a BioWare employee I would not be surprised if he talked reluctantly about the Mass Effect movie in the works too. It's gonna be another typical B-movie adaptation of a video game IP, I can smell it.

Yeah, bear in mind this is a conference call that's gonna be heard by the public and I guess investors. That means everything has to be part of their facade, e.g. no "we aren't too happy with this" or "This was not what we hoped" and if there was negative news like bad sales figures they'd do like they did with the reviews of MEA and highlight the most positive trait they can find in it like saying that it's "got 100 8/10 scores" instead of reflecting on why it didn't get an average of 80 or above.

I would be very interested in which reviewers they are counting in that "over 100" remark. I still remember the "75 Perfect Reviews!" marketing during the ME3 furor, with no explanation as to where they dragged them up from.

The Assassin's Creed movie bombed on its arse and considering a) Mass Effect has a smaller fanbase, and a Mass Effect movie would unquestionably cost more to make, they would be nuts to make it.

That's all I care about, I really do not have any interest in a movie. 

I have never been a Rper. Even with MET, I played Shepard more as movie director then trying to make a back story for him. I am far too lazy for that. I don't think the blame lies on the more action focused MP nature though. It might just be some of the writers you liked have left. How does that saying go. Correlation does not imply causation. Something like that.

The Assassin's Creed movie cleared $240 million USD on a $125 million dollar budget. So, no, not a "bombed on it's arse".

 I hope, for your sake, they make it then. You can have my ticket! 

I'd prefer to have Dagna romanceable in the next game! 

As much as I disagree with most of those statements... I'll try to not start a drama and keep my rants for myself.

On topic. A ME movie could be great, but could also be a huge piece of disappointing garbage, it's so easy to fuck things up in movies it's not even funny. From memory, when you have a game you don't make a movie, and vice-versa because for some reason it ends up being fucked.
Star Wars kinda did alright in this (movies and games), but then again, huge controversies about some of the movies and some of the SW games, so it's not perfect either.

Source? Plausible number, but it's still a good practice to source stuff.

I really like how the dark energy of BSN ignore Wilsons first statement of "wonderful, beautiful, deep, rich worlds" in regards to what ME stands for and zooms in on the last (least?). Beautiful is probably graphical but deep is not. The depth you get from the people and their stories. So MP is here to stay as well characters and their stories. Good innit?
