Weird, an article based directly on the Kotaku report that, obviously, missed the target on it's original report to the point that the title was changed. Forgive me if I'm not impressed. Ignore him. He is just a hungry troll looking for food. Don't feed him.

Well, that was expected. As it had been noted before, MEA was a flop with critics, fans and sales. This development is what comes after. And, from a fan perspective as least, it's good news. If we had another ME game made by the same people it would be the same mediocre game. Now there a reasons to hope. Well aren't you chipper. You just assume they wouldn't learn anything from ME:A and make a better game with its sequel? Well they can't even learn from their past mistakes, so it is very unlikely.

I actually feel kind of guilty now. I critized this game a lot, because it really could have been so much better, but I never wanted it to die. The thought of it never getting any DLCs makes me a bit sad. Anyway, I hope that article is bullshit. Nah, don't feel bad. Criticism is a legitimate response. I liked ME:A, generally speaking, but that didn't stop me from criticizing all the things I didn't like. If criticism alone were enough to get a game canned, barely any games would get made nowadays. ME:A had legit, serious issues, and maybe a hiatus will help them address some of those if they choose to make another game in the IP.Agreed.

Well done Melcara you probably got my favourite franchise shut down for saying critical things on the internet about it. If only you just kept quiet and enjoyed the game for what it was instead of having your own personal expectations and standards you savage. This has triggered me immensely. I would like reparations please for me and my family. Sadly this is EA we are talking about. You're comment may be tongue in cheek, but it's very pertinent when it comes to EA. Also to those saying the next will be better after a break, just remember DeadSpace is also on Hiatus.

Honestly obviously EA won't tell that they are disappointed with the game. However why you would move around people to other studios if you were expected to produce a couple of SP DLCs as per BW tradition before moving on. Plus the game is already on 30% sale?? It's clear as sun that EA is disappointed. But this is what always happens. If people were paying attention the staff at BioWare Edmenton downsized and moved on to other products after DA I was released, and they needed help from other studios, namely Austin. They started working on MEA, the new IP, hell probably even TOR. But yet Dragon Age Inquisition still was able to produce three highly successful, high quality DLCs. This article is nothing but clickbait fake news nonsense and honestly I am quite pissed that Kotaku would even have the balls to lie like this. Fine if you can read the tea leaves and chicken entrails and 'read between the lines', good for you. But until there is an actual report and announcement to the effect of 'we are not actually going to continue working on the game' not this reaching for straws and trying to drive clicks to your site so you can generate money, I am not going to assume anything. Until then: Frickin Shame on Kotaku for writing this hit piece and shame on the people for actually posting the nonsense to the forum and taking it seriously, and shame on me for actually clicking on it and give Kotaku what they were actually looking for. I hope you are right. I want my story DLC's!

Criticism is all well and good but I doubt we'll see the level of scrutiny ME:A got from "professional" games "journalists" for a very long time. Pretty sad people can't let go of previous entries in a franchise and can't help but put on their rose tinted glasses.

I only know that some of the DLC got shelfed because DS3 didn't sell that well. The trilogy did end though, on a cliffhanger unfornately.

I genuinely like this guy, but he has no inner access to EA. If he did, we would be standing outside of their HR and PR departments with pitchforks and crosses.

Even if we don't get another mass Effect game or Andromeda sequel for years or even ever again, I think Bioware and EA should at least take the time to develop dlc that ties up all the loose ends to this game. They know they have a huge fan base still loyal enough to buy the dlc.
I'm not talking about just the quarian ark either. The benefactor mystery, the Kett, Jaardan, etc all could be tied up in one dlc expansion.
Leveraging Meridian as the new HUB world and expanding on the existing maps, they could have the next wave of Kett show up and introduce the Jaardan. Meridian's map can lead to more remnant exploration which allows us to figure out how to defeat the Kett for good. In turn it also explains the mysteries of the Jaardan, Meridian, and the Scourage
Personally, I think we arrived after a big civil war anyways so there is no need to introduce new races.
The dlc starts with going after the quarian ark which is what easily escalates the whole final chapter. Meridian has the potential to become hostile to the Hyperion people so Ryder has to make concrete decisions. This in turns leads him/her to uncover the benefactor mystery as to see if returning to the Milky to escape the Tom foolery of the Jaardan is even an option. It's not!!! But we learn.
Whatever happens can still lead to a sequel but at least ties up enough loose ends that the game teases the entire time.
Thoughts??

I'm curious now, can you read? "Our teams at BioWare and across EA put in tremendous effort bringing Mass Effect Andromeda to players around the world. Even as BioWare continues to focus on the Mass Effect Andromeda community and live service, we are constantly looking at how we’re prepared for the next experiences we will create. The teams in EA Worldwide Studios are packed with talent, and more than ever, we are driving collaboration between studios on key projects. With our BioWare and Motive teams sharing studio space in Montreal, we have BioWare team members joining Motive projects that are underway. We’re also ramping up teams on other BioWare projects in development." I'm curious as well. Can you? Nowhere in that quote anyone from BW says "we're putting Mass Effect on hold". Jesus christ. Accurate and trusted source for me is someone who's got track record to prove it, like shinobi (who confirmed it). Kotaku it ain't "Lul what? Not a single link or quote." - I gave you a Bioware quote - maybe be more specific next time - you can start by learning to read so you don't spew gibberish. And it doesn't take a scholar to read the quote I posted and understand that Mass Effect IS on hold.

If the internet trolls actually can have this economic impact, EA should look a way to fix their own reputation even before their games

This could probably mean a couple of patches and no DLCs at all. Well I hope people are now happy. Thinking that bitching is going to give you a better product...flash news...It won't. After Deus Ex this is the second franchise I love that is put on halt...while crap like Battlefield, Battlefront and CoD are released every freaking year....damn if it goes like this I won't have anything to play with. if you need DLC to make a shit game good you are doing it wrong

"All said and done, Andromeda's Legacy for the Mass Effect Franchise is one of fans spewing hyperbole as fact, SJW garbage that isn't even there, and an overall good game being destroyed by players despite the fact there are much, much, much, much worse games out there" Okay I fixed the thread for you. Hainly Abrams and Biowares groveling apology for trying to represent an extreme minority of the populace... Its a checklist for social propaganda of trying to influence people that crap like that is normal in everyday life. It isn't.

And it doesn't take a scholar to read the quote I posted and understand that Mass Effect IS on hold. Anyone coming to this thear is looking for exactly one specific and direct quote. No one cares about stories about part of the dev team moving to other projects because everybody knows game/DLC developement doesn't utilize full-scale teams during entire production and people shift from one project to another all the time within same studio and company. And Kotaku has very spotty track record. In conclusion, stop rushing to post and defend every negative article on Andromeda/Bioware you can find and actually do some more research. Took me few mins to get a better source with better track record, meanwhile you're sitting here and celebrating unrelated Kotaku quotes lol. Such a poor effort crusade of yours

It was nice knowing ya Mass Effect I think it's telling for me that I didn't really feel any lasting gut-punch from reading this. So there's just New IP and DA left I guess. All things considered I don't feel anything in particular about Andromeda as a sequel to the trilogy. It could've potentially turned into something great but honestly they made so many missteps just in this game I would not have been able to be excited for what they did next anyway. BTW, this is not the first time EA set a franchise on hiatus only for it to never return. Always exaggerate the modest PR responses 10-fold from their outgoing meaning. If a spokesman says "There may be more games some day" it most likely means "not in a million years". There's no chance BioWare would ever get cut out of EA and then EA releases their rights to Mass Effect and the chances that EA will dedicate a non-BioWare studio to a Mass Effect game is probably slim to none unless it's MP-only. It's not like the franchise was that much of a beast compared to the other really big AAA titles ever in terms of sales.

I'd certainly like to see some of those mysteries addressed.
I don't know that I'd necessarily want everything wrapped up in DLC, though. I'd kind of like to leave some things open for a sequel.
