Ok....this article is crap. First of all they call MEA a 'reboot' it is not a reboot in any way shape or form. At best its a 'soft reboot', but even then it throws out none of previously established canon so it does not count really as that. Second of all, it says quite dramatically 'sources say ME has been put on ice', and Montreal has been downsized, but then the only sources it quotes say that they are happy with Andromeda and just moving around people to deal with other EA projects...which makes sense. Honestly, what the actual hell Kotaku? Obviously EA won't tell that they are disappointed with the game. However why you would move around people to other studios if you were expected to produce a couple of SP DLCs as per BW tradition before moving on. Plus the game is already on 30% sale?? It's clear as sun that EA is disappointed. It's EA's fault as much as it's BW's. EA is BW. If they didn't let a really unprofessional team do the game, it probably would have been much better. Not to mention that the people complaining that bitching about the game killed it, that's BS. What killed it is sales. There are play through vids all over youtube. I think anyone with half a brain can see that this game is not as good as the triology. They changed a formula that worked for three games and made them major sellers. They screwed up the animations. There are still bugs all over. I just got stuck in the ground and had to quit the game. The game is fun. I will admit that but I am ignoring the dialogue which is really bad and focusing on the exploration and the combat which is pretty damned good. BW is known for their stories. While the premise of Andromeda is good, they carried it out poorly. We may see a return of Mass Effect eventually but I think EA will be much smarter about it and give the fans what they really want. This is not the end of BW. There will be another DA game for sure. Hell I think there will be another ME game. There is so much that they could have done, just needed to get it done by their pros.

So, still no non-Kotaku sources? Incidentally, people seem to really overestimate how much choice the Aqun-Athlok are given under the Qun. If you think the silence from BioWare isn't confirmation and the statement released by Aaryn Flynn isnt confirmation, feel free to ask for a new Half Life game as well. [ What statement by Aaryn Flynn?

The fact that BioWare or EA hasn't demanded a retraction of the Kotaku article, or released a press release to clear up things, really is a sign that the news might be correct or mostly correct.

The failure of andromeda clearly had an impact on the secret ip. The complaining of people here had zero impact on both decisions. Clearly its a money and results issue. Theres only so much duct tape ea was walking to use to fix it Clearly someone at ea said what the frag is going on. This ip is no where near ready and andomeda is a mess (its an average game and the buzz in the industry isnt good). People at bioware better get their resumes up to date. My opinion is there is a ton of pressure on da team. Da5 has clearly been greenlit and its the next and maybe only thing I put zero blame on ea. They gave the andomeda team plenty of time abd tech to hang themselves

EA did clarify on the article. Where? www.gamespot.com/articles/mass-effect-reportedly-on-hiatus-changes-made-at-b/1100-6449945/EA clarified with GameSpot that there hasn't been any downsizing at BioWare Montreal and shared a statement from studio director Yanick Roy. It confirms some staff have moved over to Motive or are now helping with other BioWare games. "Our teams at BioWare and across EA put in tremendous effort bringing Mass Effect Andromeda to players around the world," Roy said. "Even as BioWare continues to focus on the Mass Effect Andromeda community and live service, we are constantly looking at how we're prepared for the next experiences we will create. "The teams in EA Worldwide Studios are packed with talent, and more than ever, we are driving collaboration between studios on key projects. With our BioWare and Motive teams sharing studio space in Montreal, we have BioWare team members joining Motive projects that are underway. We're also ramping up teams on other BioWare projects in development. "There will be much more to come from BioWare in the years ahead.”

"We're very happy with how BioWare is doing, how BioWare is treating Mass Effect, and our expectations for Mass Effect are still strong for the future and the franchise overall," he added.

"We're very happy with how BioWare is doing, how BioWare is treating Mass Effect, and our expectations for Mass Effect are still strong for the future and the franchise overall," he added. And therein typifies a massive problem: BW's self perception of how it is doing. It isn't believable (or true); at least not for now. Please Bioware (and EA). Earn my trust back. Edit: Thank you Joglee for your comment below. EA CEO Andrew Wilson made the comment quoted above (not Yanick Roy. My mistake). I still maintain, given the corrected attribution to Mr. Wilson, that there's a lot of icing on an unbaked cake and it is better for EA and BW to admit it and say they are going to improve the game. I want ME:A to succeed and become a much better product than it has been to this point. It will take more than another patch to get it to the point where I would want to play it again. I want this to happen.

Which given the constant posts saying 'I miss Shepard' and 'where's my Garrus the new companions suck' seems to be what people really wanted, the exact same thing but shinier. I will be rather disappointed if we don't get more Ryder, she had more potential as a character than Shepard ever did. I have only played through one time but I never liked anything about Ryder, just my opinion though. The problem from the start is no one could ever live up to Shepard. Alex Ryder might have.

When he says he shouldnt have ate that indian you don't know if its indian food or an actual indian. 10pts for believable character, Rockstar. Oh lord what did I start 😂. This was actually a reasonable debate on the GTA forum for two days if I remember rightly. The Pro "He ate an actual Indian" case was pretty strong. "I'm not eating anything in your fridge. What is that an eyelid?" "Oh relax you big baby its probably not even human." As well as countless other moments in the game confirm Trevor has in the past, eaten people. So I like to think theres some truth to it.

The only content that I see coming is putting the transgender admission from Hainly Abrams back into the game and the Quarian Ark story-arc. ...and of course whatever multitudes of micro-transaction multiplayer DLC they will release.

Pretty bummed about this news, hopefully it's not as bad as it sounds. I'm enjoying ME:A and was looking forward to seeing my Ryder grow in future content but it seems like that's a long shot now. EA is always fucking up shit! I'm still holding out for a Dead Space reboot eventually but man, two series I love seem to be in deep shit. I'm a sad panda.
